We stayed here for four nights, checking out this morning. We received a warm welcome from Constansia on reception. Room was spacious. Not fancy, but clean and functional. Very comfortable bed. Nice view of the mountains from our window and from the dining room. Dining menu was not the most exciting, but what we had was nice. Breakfast was very good. Ran out of scrambled eggs a few times but these were replenished on asking. Waiting staff helpful and friendly. We used the laundry service which was quick and efficient and inexpensive. Hotel is in a good location in the centre of the village, easy walking distance to restaurants, cafes, supermarkets etc. Parking is available on the street outside. Some other reviews have mentioned noise, but this was not our experience. Our room was on the second floor and perfectly quiet. Wifi is a bit hit and miss, but that’s probably down to the geography of the area. No English speaking news channels on tv, but we survived! Would stay here again.

We stayed three nights after our great W Trek at Torres Del Paine and one night in Calafate.
We loved having our own bathroom and real beds and real restaurant food after the refugios in Chile!
Chalten Suites was comfortable and central (though the town is very compact), with some nice staff. Our double room had a sweet balcony overlooking town and peekaboo view of mountains. The bathroom was fine though our shower head needed fixing. We got all our laundry done overnight for just $10 a large bag--a great service! Breakfast buffet was very good in a bright, spacious dining room.
Our only disappointment was Christmas Eve dinner, which was more style than substance. We had been quoted $49, but we weren't told that's only if we paid in US cash. Paying by credit card was $65 and by pesos was $85. This was the most explicit example of the power of the US dollar in Argentina!
El Chalten and Glaciares National Park are fantastic. Note the big trailheads are on the other side of town so you have nearly a mile more to go after finishing Laguna de Los Tres!

I wish I could give this hotel a better review because it has some very good points. It looks very pretty from the outside, sort of like a Swiss chalet. The gardens are immaculately kept and very pretty and the lobby of the hotel is also pretty. The breakfast buffet is good. The staff members are pleasant. Also, you can walk to shops and restaurants in the area.
Cleanliness and quiet are my two most important requirements for a hotel room. The hotel met the cleanliness requirement, but it didn't even come close to meeting the quietness requirement. We were on the ground floor. The walls are so thin, you can hear much of what people say in the halls and in their rooms. Every time someone flushes the toilet or runs the shower you can hear it. Unfortunately, we had booked four nights here. I didn't sleep for those four nights. I don't know how the noise level is on other floors, but it was awful on the ground floor.
Because it is so noisy, I can’t give this hotel a good review. If a lot of noise doesn’t bother you, then you will be fine with this hotel. However, if you are like me and need a quiet environment to sleep, I recommend choosing a different hotel.

A newly built hotel on the main street of the town, close to shops, cafes, and restaurants and a 20-minute walk from the entrance to the National Park and trails. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The layout of the building is weird, and it feels like they added sections haphazardly. They are a 10 minute walk from the bus station. The room was big, with comfortable beds and a couple of chairs. The bathroom was big with good water pressure and good hot water. An in room coffee maker and a ceiling fan would have been nice. We couldn't have breakfast, as we left to hike very early in the morning. We did have dinner, and the food was okay, but we (wife and I) had stomach trouble. I would have given 4 stars, but when you are paying $300/night, you expect more. The water went off after midnight and the pipes made weird noises and kept us up all night. Later, we found out that there was a city-wide water outage and so it wasn't the hotel's fault.

Response from Julieta MartÃn, General Manager at Chalten Suites Hotel
We had 3 rooms for 5 nights over the Christmas holiday. Chalten Suites is a family-run hotel with very large rooms and comfortable beds that were just what we needed after many long hikes. If you cannot avoid being "connected," the WiFi was strong and consistent, not at all what we were led to expect in El Chalten. Breakfast buffet was fine, very heavy on sweet breakfast items as seems to be the norm for Argentina. The staff was so nice and helpful, and we were honored to enjoy a Christmas Eve toast with all of them!

Chalten Suites is a 5 minute walk from the bus station, yet on the main street of El Chalten. We enjoyed our lovely room in the new wing with a large walk-in shower, comfortable bed and pillows, 2 for each guest, and black out curtains. There was a kettle, hooray, and the minibar is well stocked. Best part for me is the floor to ceiling glass window and balcony where we can see Mt FitzRoy and Cerro Torre, as well as people watch on the main street. Breakfast is wonderful spread especially if you have a sweet tooth as the cakes and bite size cookies are fantastic. We had a delicious meal in the newly built glass restaurant on the second floor. The 2 receptionists I met spoke good English and were warm and helpful. Definitely a great choice to stay while in El Chalten.

This was on San Martin Street in El Chalten; walking distance from the bus station and the hotel has very comfortable rooms with great views . The breakfast is plentiful and has excellent food options but it the staff that make the stay here memorable. Tamara was incredible and so helpful and thoughtful during our stay as were Ana and Celeste . Francisco helped plan our hike to Fitz Roy and Gustavo went above and beyond to assist us . It is walking distance to all the restaurants and the trail heads at Parque Nacional Los Glacieres and I highly recommend staying at this hotel. Tamara shared mate with me making it a very special moment

Dear Brigitte,
Thank you very much for your question.
Today we close for the season. Next season we open in October, the 9th and we don't have a closing date but normally is in May, the 1st or the first week of May.
Please don't doubt to write us back, if you have any other question or you need any help with your trip.
Best regards
Julieta MartÃn
No need for a car. If you leave El Chalten a taxi will be readily available and reasonable. As for hikes, our favorite was hiking the private trails in Los Huemules. That will require a taxi ride as the reserve is about 1.5 hours out of town but the effort is definitely worth it. These trails (there are 5) are like wilderness hiking because they are so sparsely traveled. The beauty was astounding. If I returned and could only spend 2 days this is were I would go.
There are more places to choose from in the El Chalten area.
