I read a fairly negative review about the rooms, dirty and very small.
Personally, the room I had was cleaned every day, furthermore the rooms are not very large, but, as you can see from the photos, there was also a small table and space to put two open suitcases on the floor.
The bathroom was small but adequate, we also never had any problems with hot water.
If you are a traveler (and not a tourist) I recommend it.
Breakfast was also sufficient.

The beds are ok. The bathroom is small. Unfortunately, the rooms are also very noisy, so you can hear every step and everything that is spoken in the hallway clearly and distinctly even in the room. From the price-performance ratio overall, however, it is ok. On the positive side is the common room, where you can also stay outside your room. The staff is very friendly.
The welcome was friendly and the wait for the room (they were cleaning them) was not that long. The room, a twin, was simple, but bright and very clean. It was also a bit larger than expected with enough space to move around without bumping any into luggage or into each other. There were some shelves where to place your stuff and where was possible to also store one piece of luggage. There where reading lamps, but the switches for both lamps were placed on top of one of the beds, so who was in the other one had to get up to switch it off. There was only one nightstand, placed between the beds.
The bed was comfortable enough even though, as in other places where I stayed in Patagonia, the bottom bed sheet was long enough only to cover the mattress up to its rim and would get uncomfortably rolled up and tangled during the night. Like in all other places in stayed at in Patagonia the room was very, very hot.
The bathroom was quite large and also very clean. There was a small window and there was a heated towel rack. The shower was large and temperature and water pressure were fine.
There was only one socket in the whole room that was uncomfortably placed just above one of the beds, so anything that needed to be recharged would have to be placed on the pillow, making it impossible to recharge anything at night. There was another socket in the bathroom.
Any noise would travel through the whole establishment and could be heard in every room.
The breakfast buffet consisted of a selection of tea/coffee, juices, yoghurt and cereal, toast and some cakes. It was a pleasant surprise to find out that it also included eggs cooked to order. Although not exceptional, it was tasty and filling.
Free wifi was available but it was the weakest signal I had during the whole trip and it worked only unpredictably and for very short periods.
Staff members were pleasant and helpful.
I would probably have given 3 stars due to the noise, the heat and the lousy wifi, but one extra star is for the friendliness of the owners and their availability to meet all our requests (they even let us shower after our day hike and before boarding the bus).

Everything smells musty. The walls leaked and were dirty.
Unfriendly staff.
Hard mattress, but good pillows.
My daughter came on a sports delegation and one day I brought her to shower here, I requested a towel at reception, which they gave me and the next day they treated me badly for this fact.
It was enough for them to tell me at the entrance that La Niña could not enter.
Then I asked for an extra towel to wash my hair because I have long hair and reception told me that they couldn't give ME another towel.
It says it doesn't accept pets and they have 3 dogs hanging around the reception/breakfast room. And there was never a garden.
I'm never coming back

However, tiny, dirty and ruined rooms. People and suitcases can't fit there at the same time, the door doesn't close properly and slams with every blow of air, the water often doesn't work...

Nothing in El Chalten has reliable internet, so make sure you tell your family members not to expect to hear from you.
