The hotel is pretty new which is arrays something in the area but the service is nothing appreciative: at the reception they are just “there” without being too service oriented .... except FATIMA who is lovely and smart always pleased to assist. Room was good: clean and comfortable. Brekfast was good, seen much worst in Patagonia... They have a nice lobby for some waiting time or relax. Location is GOOD, central and closed to restaurants and path to the CERRO TORRE OR FITZ ROY.
For those who do not want to stay in one of those hostels or feel already at least a little too old for it this hotel offers a good alternative. The rooms are not very individually styled but clean and friendly. The hotel stuff is forward looking and helpful. Beside the breakfast and some little snacks there is no opportunity for lunch and dinner. But this is not a backdrop as there are many of it around in El Chalten.
I was really disappointed to check in at the hotel Poincenot, which I chose because of the daiyokujo which was in their description on Booking.com, after finding out that there was no daiyokujo. They offered me to use the one in their other hotel (part of the same group) and felt so happy even though it wouldn’t have been exactly the same since I would have had to walk from hotel to hotel to get access to it. I went to dinner, cheered with my boyfriend because even if it would have been uneasy I would have gotten the service I thought I payed for and when I came back I was told they made up their mind and since my reservation had been done directly to the hotel and not through their window on Booking.com I did not have any lever to ask for the use of the daiyokujo. They hurt me twice, the first time at the check in and the second by ruining my wonderful evening after the awesome dinner at the La Oveja negra. They communicated that even without giving me the opportunity to change my mind and letting me change accommodation. I could not even speak to the hotel managers who let everything in the hands of their employee who could not take any decision about refund and booking cancellation. I feel I have been defrauded. Don’t ever come here. It’s bed... writing from the room next to the reception and not being able to sleep because of the anger and because of the other guests voices in the common room right outside my door at 00.05. …
Very comfortable hotel - very modern and clean and spacious rooms. The bed wasn’t too great, but that’s personal preference. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good (by rural Argentinian standards). One of the more ‘up-market’ places in El Chalten.
Was given a high ceiling room, overall good, clean and comfortable and has cable TV. Location as mentioned is great, in the middle of all starting points. Breakfast variety is good and scrambled eggs can be done upon request. The lady who handled my check-in was very helpful, gave me a small map and marked down the useful routes of of the town. Lunch pack cost ARS 300, comes with a bottle of water, 2 ham and cheese sandwich, snack bar and an apple. This room is big but the heater was too small. Wifi speed not so great especially with social media apps.
