PHT is a mix of a hotel and a hostel. In the hotel area you have the room with private bathroom with breakfast. The hostel part has shared accommodation, shared bathroom and shared kitchen. Those staying in the hotel have access to the host's kitchen, allowing them to make whatever meals they want. The hostel's kitchen is well organized and clean, there is a refrigerator with masking tape to identify belongings, there is a closet with baskets to leave belongings that don't go in the refrigerator, all identified. The hostel's dining area is good, with chairs and tables for several different groups. The hotel environment is very pleasant. There's only one "snag" and that's the internet, which is terrible in the rooms, but nothing that interferes with the stay. It is more than recommended.

I hope I have the space to express all the good things we experienced in this beautiful Hotel. The reception staff is super attentive and well prepared, they serve you with dedication and give you very good information about the place to have a good time. The room is spacious and super comfortable, excellent mattress and pillows (La Cardeuse), the bathroom could only use a bidet. Being a Hostel, they allowed us to use the community kitchen, which made our stay much easier. We were able to store food in the refrigerator and they gave us a space to store food without the cold. Breakfast is served in a very nice place, and features (for example) homemade bread from the hotel's own kitchen. I had the opportunity to meet Ricardo and his wife (owners and founders) with a story worthy of a movie, so I was able to express my positive opinion to them. We will definitely return and highly recommend it. Ah! It doesn't have a TV in the room...GREAT!!!!

This is the perfect place to stay when visiting el chalten. Location is right in the centre of town, 15 minute walk from the bus & right at the start of the trails. We stayed in a private room which was spacious & clean. Shower was warm with good pressure which was needed after a cold hike. Radiators always on so place is toasty warm. Breakfast was included & fueled us for our hikes. We only used the kitchen briefly but was clean & organised. The staff here are the real stand out. Chiara and Clara always smiling & helpful. Another girl who checked us in was also amazing unfortunately I didn't catch her name. With a special thanks going to Franco. He took the time every night to talk to us about our day & give us recommendations. He really is the real gem of this place. We will be recommending here to anyone coming to el chalten.

A solid rating of 2/5 stars. I don't know where this hostel is rated, for me it deserves no more than two stars. It's one of the worst hostels I've ever stayed in. I stayed 3 nights and the 90% of the staff were very lousy for a Latin American traveler, however I noticed a different attention with European and North American travelers. On the other hand the 4 bed dormitory rooms are very small, I am a person of 1.70 m and still I found them quite small, in general I think a room is at most 3 square meters. In addition there is a single shared bathroom for men, which has a doubtful cleaning. On the other hand the kitchen area is quite small for the number of people staying there, not counting that the stove is in poor condition.
In summary this place is OVERRATED, now I understand why they do not let post comments on booking.
I'M NOT COMING BACK.

Lots of positives here. Friendly staff very helpful in recommending drinks and eats. Rooms are large enough. Nice lobby to sit in. Easy walk to everything in town. They have quick laundry service which was rather inexpensive. Kitchen area for guest includes big refrigerators for storage.

Hostal par excellence I stayed at the Patagonia Hostal for 3 nights. Mariel gave me super recommendations for an enjoyable 3 stay in El Chanten. Since my Mobile phone wasn't working, Samanta the receptionist arranged all my onwards trip, including bus ticket, accommodation in El Chanten as well as the day trip to la cueva de los Manos. She was an excellent tour adviser, information officer and above all an aprochable human being. Patagonia is highly recommended. Good values, very clean rooms and helpful staff.

Impeccable all according to the cost/benefit ratio. Amenities, services, facilities, service, breakfast, location, WiFi. Flawless tofo. They let you leave your bags after check out, use the bathroom, bathe. The place met my expectations extensively. I recommend paying for breakfast if not included and trying dinner in the restaurant. Highly recommended. Franco's attention, excellent.

The rooms were very comfortable and the location is excellent. It's very easy to access the entire city and trailheads from the Hostel as it's only about 1/2km from the main entrance to the trails, and right on the main road. And, the best part of staying at the Patagonia Travellers' Hostel is the staff - they are helpful, friendly, and made our trip.

the place: very good, the comfortable room considering it is a hostel. the brutal (expensive) prices but El Chalten has no mercy with the prices. with the tale of foreign tourists, it is very expensive still in dollars. The breakfast very good, limited but more Argentine type than international type (I like it that way); the Vegan restaurant... well, very rich, the only place with good prices in the whole village, although a little scarce. the attention: excellent, very young people, very fast, with results at the moment (we had a problem with water, it was solved before managing to get angry, hehehe). A well-equipped kitchen to make you food, a respect for what is "other" remarkable.
