Our family of four stayed at Hosteria El Puma for three nights in March 2024. The lodge is beautiful - rustic, simple and elegant. The rooms were spacious, clean and nicely decorated; I especially loved the vaulted ceiling in our room, whitewashed brick walls and wooden floors. I would have preferred a softer bed but my husband liked the firm mattress. The bathroom had ample space and the water pressure in the shower was excellent; we loved the heated towel rack and heated floors (would have liked more counter space around the sink). The service from the front desk to the dining room was very good. We enjoyed our breakfasts there daily (eggs cooked to order; many great selection of fruits, cheeses and meats, cereals, nuts, dried fruit, etc.) and we ended up choosing to stay on property for most dinners as it was convenient, tasty and such a nice atmosphere. We noticed many other guests did the same and we made new friends while there. We purchased a pack lunch from the hosteria for our Fitz Roy hiking day and it was incredible - everything was homemade and so delicious. The hosteria is located conveniently in the middle of El Chalten, close to all the shops and dining, but still felt private and very quiet as it is one street up from the main one. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you to all the staff for a wonderful stay!

El Puma is in a great location for hikes and the restaurants and cafes of the main street. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially when an airline strike meant we had to book new flights online in a hurry. The room was comfortable and functional but as others have said, the windows are fixed panes and there is no way to air the room. The breakfast could be improved and there was only one hot item which was scrambled eggs on request. Basic cereals and bread items otherwise. These are the only negatives and overall we enjoyed our stay at El Puma and the hikes we did from El Chalten.

When arrived at the Hosteria they wanted to charge Double the price of the booking.com reservation in Argentinian Pesos. For those who know about the Dollar Tarjeta and Dollar Blue they wanted to keep this benefit for them… Be AWARE and dont pay!!

A very pleasant stay in a welcoming setting: the bungalows are tastefully furnished, they are very spacious and nothing essential is missing. The restaurant is quality at breakfast as well as dinner, the prices are standard. We stayed 3 nights.

After a day of hiking the amazing trails of El Chalten, you want to be staying at a place like Hosteria El Puma. My husband and I stayed at one of the rooms detached from the main building, and we loved the high ceilings, the comfortable bed, the private enclosed patio, and the large bathroom + tub. The room was simply and beautifully furnished (think, simple luxury), and there was plenty of storage space. The Puma was also conveniently located close to two major trail heads and Avenida San Martin, the main road. The staff here were super friendly, and the complimentary breakfasts really fueled us well for a day on the trails. We would definitely stay here again!

Hosteria El Puma is a great place to stay. The staff are very helpful & friendly. Loved talking to the waitress in the dining room who was particularly helpful and looked up things of interest for us on the internet using her local knowledge. She was charming & made our stay more interesting.
The rooms are cosy and warm which is what you need after a hike on the mountains. Availed of the pack lunch which was very nice and good value.

We had an excellent stay at El Puma, before and after a 3 day trek. They were very accommodating and stored our stuff no problem whilst we were in the mountains. Lovely rooms, good food and really friendly and knowledgeable staff. Our guide told us that El Puma was one of the first accommodations set up in El Chalten and it is certainly still one of the best

Being use to 5-star hotel-chains (similar everywhere in the world), it is so refreshing to set in a so warm atmosphere in the middle of nowhere, about at the end of the world in a magic place. We do really had the feeling to be welcome as friends and not as basic customers ( the same opinion of other residents that we had the pleasure to meet at the place). The location, the warm people there, the food, etc, are perfectly matching the overall atmosphere of the Patagonian Andes. I would take this opportunity to thanks them all again. Thinking and thinking again about these friendly moments will drive us again to return.

The place is very cozy and the staff is super friendly. The bed and linings were excellent and the heated floor was essencial. Breakfast is very good (the natural yogurt is a must). The only non satisfying point is the lack of a mini fridge in the room, it would be useful to keep supplies for the trekking activities (I was told superior rooms have mini fridge, but by the price of our accommodation I think that would be fair to have a fridge). Our matrimonial accommodation did not have a TV (but that was not an issue for us), the safe was not fixed in the furniture (it was loose) and was very small too. The staff is very friendly and helped us a lot with an issue on the rental car. I liked the location, it is not in the main street, but close enough to be convenient but much more calm.
