We make it easy for you. You'll get picked up by our driver and delivered to paradise, where all (healthy and plentiful) meals are included. Free wifi is also included, but Indonesia isn't known for it's internet. Non-surfers and families will find plenty of action and entertainment, in the way of waterfalls and markets. If you fancy some fitness on your holiday, Amy is a certified Pilates instructor from USA. Chill by the fresh water pool. Get a massage while you listen to waves roll in. What sets Amy's Place apart from the other surf hotels in the area, is the massive garden and limit of 10 guests. This gives you the space to relax, and allows us to keep the standard of the food and accommodation much higher than if we catered to more people. You'll have an epic time, surfing empty waves, eating good food, and getting to know the local culture which hasn't been overtaken by tourism. We look forward to providing you with memories that'll last a lifetime.

Amy's Place is amazing! I stayed there for over two weeks and had the best time! If you're looking for a relaxing environment with good people and good times this is the place for you. If you are looking for extra-lux resort type facilities or wild parties maybe try somewhere else. If you are travelling solo, as a couple, in a group or family, looking for a homey abode with a wicked surf guide, 3 beautiful dogs, a kitten, free laundry service, delicious food, deep massages, little surf trips, an amazing garden, etc etc then Amy's Place is THE place for you.

All airport pickups were organised by Amy. When I arrived after a long trip; without asking, a bike with board rack was ready to go for the next morning. The surf guide Blake and I rode to various surf sports and he was able to predict different swell sizes, surf conditions, crowds, wave type, wave difficulty and hazard warnings. On the days there wasn't suitable waves to kill the time there was the pool, table tennis, comfy lounges, card games, snacks, a couple of bintangs and great company.

Amy goes above and beyond to help with whatever you need (a lot you weren't aware of). She is well known and loved in the Krui community. Because she genuinely likes her guests; the feel of Amy's place is cosy and homey. The only problem staying here is that next time you'll want to stay for years. Thanks for everything Amy, Pely, the rest of the staff, Frankie, Pete, Mama and Murray. I'll see you all next year.

Cheers, Jeremy

I was checking every part of the Krui coast the first day I arrived at South Sumatra, I happen to randomly stop by Amy's Place on the hunt for waves. Amy was most welcoming and friendly, sharing her knowledge of the area which was invaluable. The property is most inviting, safe with a relaxing rain forest on the beach vibe about it. Not to mention the perfect left hander at the door step. The next day, I returned to Amy's Place to ask if there were any vacancies available. There was a spare room & I ended up staying for two weeks. Amy's Place is female friendly, which is great as you may struggle to find in the Krui area do to the dominant male surf camp culture. Amy's Place has clean rooms, great food and friendly crew. Looking forward to my next Sumatra trip.

Amy's Place is paradise! Incredible location with a beautiful beach, reef and waves out front. Great food with loads of variety, but always tasty. Comfortable and clean rooms. Beautiful jungle garden with an epic viewing tower for wave watching and sunset beer-drinking sessions. Fun, smiling and happy staff with special mention to the legend that is Pelly! All this is reigned over by Queen Amy. She brings a level of service to the Sumatran jungle that is hard to beat. Queen Amy arranges whatever you need, and you never need to check up on its progress because...SHE GETS IT DONE! Thank you, Queen Amy and your merry band of wonderful people! Keep up the good work, and see you next time! Yew!

Hahahahaha "Queen Amy" , happy to hear I managed to exceed all expectations. The only reason I can get stuff done is because of the amazing staff. None of it would exist without them, and you're right.. Pely is a huge part of that. Can't wait to see you next year! Thanks so much for taking the time write a review. I really appreciate it.

Amys is the best place in and around Krui by a long way. The grounds are spacious and impeccable and even when the place is full theres still plenty of room for everyone. The deck overlooking the waves is perfect for watching the sunset and enjoying a bintang or two. The food was first rate with different meals served everynight, including fresh fish. Plenty of fresh vegies and fruit too to keep you healthy. There are a half a dozen surf breaks within a few minutes ride and Amy and the surf guides are really knowledgeable about winds, tides, swell direction, etc. Tole, the local manager is an absolute legend and has a tonne of local connections. Cant fault this place. We had amazing waves 10 days in a row.

Loved everything about the experience that is Amy's Place. From pre arrival preparation about all aspects of our trip, to drop off at airport, everything went smoothly and easily. Set your own pace, do lots or nothing much. Surf, scooters, boats, fishing, massages, adventures to waterfalls and islands: all activities were easily sorted & guided by friendly and fun staff. Amy and her crew are super attentive and knowledgeable. They were all generous with their time and were great company. It was like staying with fun friends. My partner came a cropper on the reef and all wounds were expertly cared for and my extreme need for Amy's peanut butter was also well- catered for. We ate soooo well at all meal times! Green gardens, cool pool, extensive views. We had an awesome time & I highly recommend Amy's place for gnarly surfers and their not so salty partners.

You and your crew were as good as it gets (even if I had to double the peanut butter production -haha). I'm so happy you had such a good trip and so thankful you took the time to write a review. Hopefully you all can come for a longer stay in 2018.

I can't recommend Amy's more highly. Incredible location, great surf, clean rooms, and great food. So many surf options in the area, and a really helpful staff. If you find yourself near Krui, definitely look into a stay at Amy's.

We stayed at Amy's Place in Krui, Sumatra for 8 days. We were looked after the whole time, from being picked up from the airport, shown around the area to all the great surf spots, taken on a boat to bannana island, visiting the waterfall in the jungle and looked after when we had reef cuts from some gnarly barrels. We had an amazing time thanks to Amy. Krui, Sumatra is definitely worth a visit and Amys Place is the perfect spot to stay.

Had an epic time at Amy's. My room was everything I needed and more, comfy bed to rest up after long surf sessions and incredible huge portions of food (got vegetarian food which was amazing) prepared by the amazing local staff. Everything is neat and tidy, the pool was cool and clean always and the scooter i rented was quick, efficient and reliable. There is a very good wave right infront of the accommodation with the coast line scattered with A-frames, point breaks barrels and bintangs in either direction. What a treat of a trip! Thanks Amy and Storm (the legend, who knows Krui as well as he knows the inside of the pits it has to offer) and thanks to the lovely dudes and ladies that made sure we had everything we needed/wanted at any stage of our stay!
Champions all round!

Thanks Amy ,the amazing staff and the beautiful location, our one month holiday was just perfect.
First booked two weeks, than ended up staying for one month, because you can`t find anything better.
The area is much more quiet than Ujung Bocur, where one Surf camp is next to the other. If you still want to go there, it is a quick ride withe the scooter. Amy is the perfect host and will organice anything for you (Scooter,Surf trips up to Jennys and c.o or to Way jambu, Jungle trips, Banana island etc). Nothing seems to much.
The kitchen crew with the "three god souls" are doing an amazing job and makes you feel at home. The food was just great!
The location is a tropical paradise with a pool and a lot of space to relax. If you want you can get a coconut picked fresh from the tree... The rooms and beds are very comfortable and get cleaned every day! Even laundry is included.
Overall it was just an incredible stay. You can´t ask for more! Thank you so much Amy and the entire crew. We hope to come back one day.

Hi Amy - are the good waves in the January through early march period?

Hey! I'm so sorry I missed this message. It only popped up now. Better late than never I suppose. That time of year is a gamble. Usually small swells, no crowds, but the wind can be a problem. Sometimes it's good. Sometimes it's awful. This year was awful straight through from Dec till mid Feb. Its still sorting itself out. We have good days & bad days at the moment.
