My husband and I visit Sedona often, and for several years we have stayed at the Inn Above Oak Creek. We always get a room overlooking the creek, and in warmer weather have breakfast on the balcony with a beautiful view of greenery, the water, and red rocks. The service here is wonderful, and when we return from our hike it's always a pleasure to find the bed all made and everything spotlessly clean. The lobby always has coffee available, and in the morning goodies for breakfast. Below the hotel is a huge yard the size of a small park, and we've enjoyed many relaxing times at the creek's edge watching the ducks paddle by. On our December visit, we had the good fortune to have an overnight snowfall that left the views outside a winter wonderland. Since I frequently take sunrise photos while traveling, I was able to catch a reddish wash of early morning light over the landscape and the sight of freshly fallen, untouched snow on the deck. It was a breathtaking, rare experience. Throughout this stay, we enjoyed having the warm glow of the fireplace, especially to take the edge off the morning chill. Staying at the Inn always enhances our stay in magical Sedona. With Kimberly and her crew as hosts, our visits simply couldn't be better.…
This was our second stay at the Inn above Oak Creek. This time, we brought friends. The Inn is in a perfect location. There are several restaurants across the street and you can walk to town. The inn is in the heart of red rock country on Oak Creek. The room was so clean, comfortable and quiet. Our room had a gas fireplace and jacuzzi. Breakfast was a treat with three different kinds of homemade muffins every day along with fruit, cereal, bagels, etc. Homemade cookies were the night- time treat. The "get together" area when you first walk in is cozy and welcoming. Kim was the manager on duty for most of our stay. She was great to talk to and answer questions. You can tell that the people who work there must love their jobs because everything is so well done. When we return to Sedona, we will return to this Inn.…
This small guesthouse offers a high standard of accommodation for a relaxing stay. We were warmly welcomed on arrival before 10:00am and offered refreshments as we waited for our room to be prepared (with actual occupancy before 11:00am because the previous guests checked out early). The room was very clean and comfortable. The local advice from the friendly innkeeper was very helpful. Although a full breakfast isn’t served, guests can avail of plentiful breakfast items, toast a variety of bagels, and microwave their own frittata or filled breakfast rolls, accompanied by fresh fruit juice and a wide range of teas and coffees. A more intimate and personal stay than in a larger establishment, the only downside we might anticipate would be if the morning light penetrating the venetian bedroom blinds were to disturb guests’ sleep (not a problem in Dec/Jan, but perhaps in the summer months).…
This was a wonderful place to stay. A welcoming lobby for hanging out and visiting with friends, great cookies, bed was so comfortable and the room was quiet and perfect. It's walking distance to the art district and the main drag. Would stay there again without hesitation.
Where to begin?? Inn Above Oak Creek was amazing. My husband and I stayed there for a 4-night getaway and it was perfect. The decor was calm and peaceful. The fireplace was going 24/7 in the main area. Water and coffee/tea available 24/7. The chocolate chip cookies that were put out every afternoon were delicious! The room (#12) was AMAZING! The view of the creek and the red rocks from our windows was breathtaking. The room was clean, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and it was utterly silent. I realized the first morning that I hadn't heard a sound from the Inn or from outside. This was truly the most peaceful place I've ever stayed. I love the system they have as far as room service. I don't care about having our room cleaned if we're only there for a few days. But I hate asking for towels everyday. No problem here! They had a laundry basket in the hallway for dirty towels, and a guest closet where we could grab whatever we needed- towels, toilet paper, toiletries, etc. I absolutely LOVE that system. It felt like we were home. The same thing with the kitchen- there were continental breakfast staples made available to us. I seriously have never felt so welcome anywhere I've ever stayed before. It was wonderful! I kind of want to go back to Sedona just to stay here again. …
It pains me to leave this negative review after enjoying my stays at the Inn Above Oak Creek for the last 7 years, but this stay will be the last. The value of a good night's sleep is much higher than any feature this property may offer. For the last 6 nights I have been kept awake by the sounds of power tools (a saw or grinder most likely) from the shopping plaza across the street on the hillside in Sedona. This work goes on until 1am. Last night I finally tracked the source of the noise after having spent the previous several looking across the creek to the resort since they have run leaf blowers at 6am in the past. This morning I reported it to the person at the desk at the Inn Above Oak Creek. Her first reaction was that nothing could be done about the noise. When I questioned that response she seemed to realize that I had said the noise was at night and asked about the noise. I showed the video I had made and said that it continues until 1 in the morning. She replied that noise is supposed to stop by 10pm and I could call the police. Not that the staff would take care of it, but that I had to. So while the people who run the inn are asleep in their beds tonight, I get to be kept up by noise and call the police myself. Maybe I'll luck out and it will be raining tonight keeping the workmen inside. The website advertises all over the place about how quiet the rooms are, even the road facing ones. They're not that quiet and the staff won't do anything about it. In any case, I am not likely to return to the Inn Above Oak Creek in the future. There's a new hotel on the other side of Sedona. The rooms all have kitchens. It comes with a free hot continental breakfast. The rooms may not be as nice as the Oak Creek Suite, but they are less than half the price. I'll probably get a better night's sleep too which is priceless.…
Such a nice place to stay! Comfortable, quiet, and the inn keeper was so helpful and welcoming. We stayed for 5 days and didn’t want to leave. Sedona is amazing and the Inn Above Oak Creek made it even better!
I love this beautiful and well-cared-for Inn Above Oak Creek. It is quaint and has wonderful beds and pillows - well-stocked bathrooms (shampoo, etc.), and big towels! There is a lovely lobby and living room-style front area that always has something to nibble on. I especially liked the freshly made cookies when we arrived each evening - Tasty! I highly recommend the Inn Above Oak Creek if you stay in Sedona.
Millennial couple here. Beautiful property in prime location to enjoy Sedona. Can’t beat the access to Oak creek. Bed and Breakfast vibes but large enough property to spread out and have privacy. Staff was friendly and helpful. Coming back to the inn at the end of the day, with the homey living room and the smell of food coming from the kitchen took me back to being a kid, coming home from soccer practice, to a Homs-cooked meal.
We absolutely love this place. We've stayed here 3 or 4 times before and have recommended it to anyone we hear will be traveling to Sedona. This time we made this our home base for a business retreat. We booked 12 rooms and everyone had a great experience. Management was very helpful from start to finish. The rooms are nicely laid out, the jacuzzi tubs are always a hit and the views around the property and from the rooms are amazing. We were able to use the large gathering area in the Oak Creek Suite to meet together and visit. We look forward to our next stay!
