The accommodations were very nice (very clean, quiet, comfortable beds, full bath, decent bedside reading lights, fridge available in room, nice linens, no tv). Disappointed that the pool/hot tub was not available (see picture), but there are multiple man-made pools, lakes and waterfalls to sit by. Plenty of beautifully cultivated walking trails with blossoming trees, shrubs, etc. The food was plentiful and varied. If you like sugar/meat you need to bring your own. Coffee is instant only, lots of teas, lovely juices and lots of fresh fruit and berries available during meal time. Staff was friendly and helpful. Beautiful skies 24/7. The 10 mile stretch of bumpy, muddy, dirt road you will travel to access the property presents a quandary -- hard on shocks, and if renting, know that car rental companies may charge you extra for "off road" use, so read the rental fine print. Very nice destination for a business/educational retreat. No obvious need to go into town unless you need a city hit or want to go sightseeing. Bring reading material. Very relaxing.

Perfect setting and amenities for a relaxing and inspiring retreat experience. The setting could not possibly be more beautiful, the food is plentiful and delicious...vegetarian, pescatarian and vegan options, minimal sugar but caffeinated coffee. I did not take part in any of the experiences offered as part of the community's spiritual practices, but the environment itself provided all that was necessary.

I traveled to the Mago Retreat Center in Sedona, looking for spiritual renewal and refreshment. Our daily life can become so busy that self-care goes on the back burner. As a result, our bodies take in the stress and tension from high powered daily schedules that leave no room for self-reflection. The Mago Center is just that place that gives us permission to put our cell phones and busy schedules away, encouraging us to focus on creating a new mental and emotional state that brings a revitalized spirit as well. The dining facility prepares healthy meals and the staff is gracious and welcoming in their efforts at encouraging the importance of the mind, body, spirit connection. I highly recommend this retreat center for refreshing your overall state of mind. The guided programs assist in bringing clarity and mindfulness to our everyday lives.

Transformative Experience at Sedona Mago Retreat

I recently attended the Meditation Weekend Retreat at Sedona Mago, and it was truly the best retreat I could have ever experienced. The depth of knowledge shared about different meditation practices, brain education, and techniques for daily life was incredible. I learned so much and felt deeply enriched, both spiritually and mentally.

The food was also a highlight—very healthy and delicious, perfectly complementing the retreat experience. The entire team was amazing—so kind, warm, and professional. They made everyone feel welcome and comfortable, creating a nurturing environment.

Whether you're looking to grow on a spiritual level or simply want to learn more about meditation, I highly recommend this place. Sedona Mago offers an array of amazing programs that go far beyond meditation, so be sure to explore all they have to offer. You won’t regret it!

The staff and programs are all about you, extremely healing and deep and they truly care about you as a person. If you are anywhere in your journey of life you must book a retreat, this place will only advance your life. And the fresh organic food is the best I have ever had!

Mago Garden is settled on sacred land on Sedona's energy vortexes. It is a quiet and beautiful place to reconnect with nature by walking the healing lake and garden in the middle of the Red Rocks and a beautiful view of the hills. There is healthy, freshly grown foods and fresh eggs for breakfast as well as gluten-free and vegan options upon request. The rooms are simple and all you need. There are no phones in the rooms but there is a community room with computer access. There are healing retreats (for singles, groups, and more), yoga and guided meditation and holistic healers on site for you to plan a stay! I love to visit at least once or more times a year! The weather can change so bring layers and a bathing suit to swim in the pool or enjoy the hot tub!

Sedona Mago is a vast property placed far out in the Sedona desert amongst the beautiful red rocks and mountain scenery.

This is spiritually charged environment, ran by the Tao followers of Iichi Lee. Which is Korean based and has its own style of mindful practices.

Finding materials or itinerary to your program will be difficult as everyone is asked not to share the practices. We won’t use the word SECRET, but perhaps sacred. The intent is to keep biases minimal and minds open... there is practices of energy healing and motion. Which is advertised on their site. The idea of working on the deepest self (which can be intense and exhausting) is a core belief here.

Food is vegetarian or pescatarian, honestly I think it was one of the best parts. I was never wanting for meat, but perhaps a cocktail or two would’ve been nice. It is a alcohol free environment.

Housing is minimalist and eco minded. You will have a place to sleep and the basics, but not pampering style that a nice hotel would offer.

The drive is mildly wash board and honestly not that bad.

There is plenty to do in a slower pace kind of way, vortexes, pool, walking trails, meditation gardens, classes, and Sedona and neighboring towns are close enough it’s practical.

I just returned from a week of training at Sedona Mago Retreat. The training was called Hwan Bup which means "Bright Law". I feel totally refreshed, renewed and an awareness of personal growth. I sense a feeling of acceptance, calmness and peace.
The atmosphere was beautiful , the energy was revitilizing and the instructors were caring and able to deliver the principles combined with physical practice that led me to have an experience of the the principles not just information.
The accommodations were simple but fit into the landscape beautifully. The meals were exceptional.
I would encourage anyone to look into a training that would benefit them.

I stayed in Mago Retreat Center August 16-21 2023 for a special training.
Every time I come here feels like I am coming home.
The retreat has several energy vortexes. In the morning I go to Healing Garden to recharge and refresh.
Food is amazing - always fresh and prepared with love and care.
Can’t wait to go back in December.

Two questions-Are children welcome? And can people swim in the lake located on hotel grounds?
Answer from MarshallMaue
Toronto, Canada75 contributions34 helpful votes
Hi! Sedona Mago is a spiritual retreat centre, so it would be up to you to decide if children would be a good fit. Normally, I'd say "No", but perhaps your kids are mature enough to appreciate the place. As for swimming in the "pond", NO - but there is a swimming pool (sans lifeguard) on the property.
Answer from Mago_Retreat
Sedona, Arizona
Thank you for your questions! Yes, you are more than welcome to take photos of the grounds. We do have snacks available in the gift shop. No, our swimming pool is not heated. No, we do not offer art therapy. Yes, you can schedule a yoga session at any time, and no we do not offer massages. We hope that was helpful. :)

I couldn't tell you for sure, although I believe the classic is one of the original buildings...which I was not a fan of, but some like. I would recommend asking for one of the newer rooms which are between the main reception building all the way down to the dining room. Call them, they are very helpful... The place is epic....take fruit for the horses, they love apples and pears.
