Don’t make the mistake I did and book this place thinking it’s a hotel. It’s a TIMESHARE! We got the ‘suite’ which is a dark bowling alley of a ‘room’ that is really the second bedroom of a bigger timeshare unit. The locked door between where we ‘slept’ was paper thin and I believe lead to the bigger unit’s kitchen. The folks there (probably own an entire 15th of the overall unit) cooked breakfast at 4am! Their prerogative BUT our loss of sleep. The ‘concierge’ tried to get us to listen to their stupid 2 hour timeshare high pressure sales pitch… yeah NO WAY! The property itself is very nice but just know what you’re in for: no room service, no restaurant, no bar, a small crappy half room, and no ANYTHING you’d get at a hotel!
What a great suite. Plenty of parking, great amenities. The room and the grounds were well kept. We were extremely comfortable and check in and check out were easy and painless. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Almost gave a 1 star as that's probably what this Hyatt deserves. Very outdated, not kept up and poor housekeeping. There was complimentary lotion in the bathroom-it had been used! I have a picture to prove this. Also, to get to our unit on the first floor we had to go down 20 stairs! No indication of this when we made our reservation. We were there two nights. Mistake. The day we checked out there was very thick ice on the sidewalk outside the units. NO ONE had done anything to remove or make sure the areas were safe. I have a picture of this also! We will never stay there again and advise others to look elsewhere!
We stayed in a two bedroom suite which was very well equipped so that we could relax in the evening and had sufficient equipment to allow us to cook a couple of meals. The location is perfect amongst such natural beauty and close to restaurants etc. I found it surprising that Hyatt had decided that there would be no housekeeping during our stay. Surely the whole COVID thing is over and Hyatt should be returning to normal levels of service.
Admittedly, we were there for one of their pitches to try to get you to buy into their vacation club or timeshare. If this is an example of the quality of their accommodations, run away! Even during the presentation, they admitted that the rooms or "Villas" needed updating. First, very few rooms are handicapped accessible. Lots of stairs to get to rooms, schlepping luggage up and down. Appliances appeared fairly new, but the rest of the room was dark, poorly lit and old. This being described as a Luxury property (Even by The Points Guy), we were expecting a better accommodation quality. At the top of the amenities list was Bathrobes, but there were none in the room. Called the front desk and they referred us to the Activity Center. Staff there indicated we could "rent" a bath robe for our room....We were so shocked by that response we didn't even ask how much....It snowed while we were there, leaving icy mess on stairs and parking lot with no attempt by hotel to salt or sand. Lights above bathroom vanity had room for four bulbs, only one was working. Fireplace worked briefly, then quick working for the duration of our stay. See attached photos for stained cabinets, broken fireplace and lights out. The two positives, it was clean when we arrived and it's a pretty good location.…
If you are looking for a clean, safe, convenient, place to stay during your visit to Sedona, than the Hyatt might be a good choice. If you are looking for a luxurious stay? Than no, keep looking. Price is fare. Location is great. Right on the main road just down the street from downtown Sedona. My wife and I spend the night in Sedona and booked a King room on the second floor. The ceiling had a crack in the middle of it. You can tell it had a water leak and management did not fix it. Over sight! They can rent it out anyway, why fix it. When we showed up, the bed looked like someone had slept in it? We were too tired to call and ask the front desk why it was like that. The one person that was working did not seem like he would care anyway. The bath room is like a 2 star hotel set up. The seals around the tub was about as clean as a cheap motel 6. It needed work. The 2 tiny bars of soap was a joke. At least it was some what clean with some hairs left by the previous guests. Good luck turning on the water in the tub. Pull hard! By the way, if your room face the pool and the street, it is loud traffic noise. The walls of the hotel are thin. Door slams by other guests will be noticeable as they walk and talk down the hall way. On a positive note, the breakfast that is included is very nice. Lots of hot food and usual items. Waffle maker, oat meal, etc... They do a great job! Thank you for providing a great breakfast! On a negative note, parking is an extra $17 per night. No mention of that any where when you book your stay. Just be ready for the extra charge. Enjoy your stay. Nothing special about the hotel. I would recommend looking else where and paying a little extra. Our stay was not cheap! …
It is in the convenient location. Nice looking villas but I could hear our next door whether they were talking or using utensils. That was a bit stressful. The heater and fan in the bathroom were loud. Some garbages were outside of our villa and wasn’t picked up by staff. Checked in but the front desk lady must had a bad day. Hope she will have a better day moving forward. When I checked in, one of the associates was trying to have me sit in the 90 min meeting for their time share in the exchange of receiving points but I wasn’t interested. Associate was a bit pushy. I stayed many Hyatt properties but this one maybe a bit older property. Staff wasn’t necessarily friendly compared to other Hyatt hotels. Over all it was okay stay here.
Great location! Close to downtown Sedona and all the restaurants. Not a handicap friendly. Lots of stairs, no bell man, you have to carry your luggages up and down. Needs lots of update and some good housekeeping. Staff is okay. We stayed for one week
Staying in a room at the Hyatt Residence Club Sedona is like visiting your 90 year old grandma's house. Because she has mobility issues, it is understandable that her place will be a bit, uh, unkempt. She may ignore things when they break down because she's not handy and may be too thrifty or afraid of letting strangers into the house to fix things for her. She stores things in unusual places because convenience overrules all other considerations. And, there's a bit of that musty/dusty smell from lack of cleaning and keeping clothes, sheets, towels, carpets, curtains, etc quite a bit past their usable life. All this is understandable when you consider her age and physical limitations. However, it makes you wonder what excuse the Hyatt Residence Club Sedona's staff has for the same deficiencies in their abode. Other than its location, I can't think of a single positive thing about this $400 a night (in Nov 2022) hotel/timeshare. The bathroom vent is dusty beyond reason, shower head is grimy, coffee machine is dirty & stained, sink fixtures (actually, every fixture in the room) are annoyingly loose, everything in the room is ancient, they store a smelly vacuum cleaner in the closet right next to the bed, the whole room smells like an airport bathroom, the curtains are straight out of the 70's, the room is as dark as a hobbit hole in winter even in the middle of the day with the curtains fully drawn, and the workers recklessly drive their golf carts around in the night at top speeds as if they're playing a game to see who can come closest to running over guests without actually doing so. On top of that, they try to rope you into attending a timeshare sales pitch at check-in by dangling some meaningless amount of Hyatt points when all you want to do is go to sleep. The Rating: Cleanliness: terrible on all fronts, -1 Comfort Overall: unsatisfactory, 0 Functionality (do things in the room work properly?): bad fixtures, half pt off, +0.5 Staff Friendliness/Helpfulness: front desk ok, reckless driving staff on grounds, +0.5 Value - Relative: no way, 0 Bonus category - absolute value: absolutely not - they need to charge $40 a night, not $400+ a night, for it to make sense, 0 Total: 0, unfortunately limited to 1 minimum - this is the first time my personal score was zero. Would I stay here again?: Of course not, not even if it's free! Would rather stay at my grandma's and clean the house for her.…
We made our first trip to Sedona Arizona in May 2022. Our stay at the Hyatt residence club Piñon pointe was a very accommodating resort. Our unit was connected to a studio-type room that accommodated our adult grandchildren. The resort was connected to a small shopping area that had boutiques, coffee shops, and restaurants. The location of this Hyatt was convenient to local grocery stores as well as pharmacies. We packed a lot of sightseeing into a week which also included a day trip to the Grand Canyon. We also took a Pink Jeep tour through one of the canyon areas to see some of the enormous red rocks. It was truly a great trip. There are shops galore for just about anything you could want. We had a terrific time.
