Property is very conveniently located close to coffee/cafes, 7 Sacred Pools hiking trail, dinner locations and downtown. It is a bit dated and some rooms are a bit cramped, but the gym had enough equipment to get a solid workout despite it being small. They have 2 washer/dryer combos on site and provide the detergent at main desk. Morning coffee is also available in main lobby. Note to Hilton Honors members: you will have to ask the front desk to manually input your points when you check out. This is not automated at this property. It took several days for it to hit on the app and they are impossible to reach by phone.

Our first impression of the Sedona Summit Resort was a pleasant surprise. We had a warning e-mail that there would be no internet and construction but we didn't experience either of those problems. The cleanliness was immaculate. There were a few maintenance issues and I wondered if no one else had reported them or if they had and just weren't being done. None of them could be fixed during our 4 night stay.

We loved the area and check in staff were wonderful. We checked in late after a long drive leaving Vegas at 3am to Antelope Canyon to the Grand Canyon and finally to Sedona that evening.

The big problem we had was the morning following check-in, when the phone rang in every room at 9:15 am, when we had planned to sleep in after a 2 hour sleep the night before. I answered it groggily, and it was the Concierge offering a welcome package including 50% off tours. I imagined some kind of coupon book. I was annoyed but thought he probably wanted to catch us before we started our day in case he could save us money on our existing plans. I noticed there were messages left on the phone and listened to them. It was the Concierge calling each visitor who checked in after the Concierge was closed, offering the same welcome package. But when I went to the Concierge, there was no "welcome package". We had to say an activity and then they would tell us a price, and the price was only discounted if you spent 2 hours of your time attending a sales pitch for their Club membership. When I realized I had been woken up early to be sold to, and that they had nothing to offer me to genuinely help us out on our trip, I was livid.

The housekeepers really made our stay as good as it was. We were so pleased with the cleanliness and re-supply of amenities. When we took trash out, staff were there immediately to take it away.

But that morning telephone sales pitch after a late check in really soured my taste for Diamond Resorts in general. If you stay here and check in after the Concierge is closed, unplug your phones so you're not awoken to an unwelcome sales pitch the next morning!

Our stay was for a week (March 6-13, 2121. Initially gave the resort a 2 star rating after the first day. Reasons included; resort fees, which we were made aware of through RCI (our booking agency). A late check in, although about 15 minutes others were getting rooms. Then there was the concierge who wouldn't take no for an answer for a supposed "free welcome package". He sort of "dissed" on RCI and touting the Diamond Resorts. Then to the room, a room with a view of a wall, I understand not all accommodations are afforded with spectacular views. I felt as though because we booked through a competing vacation company we weren't treated equally. Point is here we booked over a year ago. The first morning we waited 2 hours for coffee to brew only to realize the coffee pot was faulty.

That's where it all changed. During the stay we made several requests for needed items and were promptly delivered. The staff was courteous, friendly and professional. The accommodations were as expected and clean. Ultimately is was a worthwhile stay.

Here are a few suggestions: While understanding we are in some unusual times, I found charging full resorts fees and not receiving all the amenities not fair. Additional items to be included are, pizza tin and a pizza cutter, dish rags to do dishes (for those of us old-fashioned dishwashers).; and a TV guide that actually matches the channels. Fireplace very underwhelming.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Sedona Summit. It is only fair to say we had a little blip at the start but thanks to Katie (Mooney) who went above and beyond, we couldn't have been happier with our overall stay and we would recommend it to others, as well as be back ourselves. The staff was very responsive to our requests (more towels and pillows etc.) and followed up with a phone call to make sure we received what we requested (nice touch).

The 2 bedroom in the Sunset building was beautiful and spacious for our family of 6 with comfy beds in the masters (Bonus - tubs are huge in both masters!). The kitchen is very well equipped and wonderful to prepare meals when we didn't feel like going out. The rooms in this area are newer and more modern and ours was very clean (especially important during covid). The deck is spacious and while we didn't have a view of the gorgeous mountains, we were very happy with the tranquility of the surrounding trees and shrubbery.

The huge pool and spa made social distancing during covid easy and was awesome for both the adults and the kiddos (splash pads for added kid fun!). The oversized spa is shaped in a way that you don't feel like you are on top of one another or overheard by all. It does has some surface repairs that need to be made, but overall is amazing after a long day of hiking! There is also a great playground that our kids loved and hammocks that we (Mimi and Mom) snuck out to for a quiet night of relaxation and stargazing.

The resort is away from the busy area of downtown Sedona (10 minutes) but we found it convenient access for some of the most amazing hikes (Airport Mesa, Devils Bridge, Boynton Canyon etc.) and was closer to Cottonwood than if we were staying in the downtown area. A day trip to Cottonwood is worth it if you like wine tasting and great restaurants!

Overall we were all very pleased with our stay and will be back!

The resort is set in a beautiful location about 15 min from downtown but in a nice area to tour around Sedona’s many highlights, go to Cottonwood, Jerome or Verde Valley. The Verde Valley train was really nice to hear history & a different look. The resort is really nice, rooms roomy & set up nicely, great pools & hot tubs & nice clubhouse. The. Cons were the 15.00 per day resort fees, lousy Wifi & poor tv reception. We came on a time share that we already had to pay a 240.00 fee to stay there on top of a resort charge?? The other con was the pressure to sign up which was deceiving. We were told if we went to tour one of their rooms which wouldn’t take more than a hour we would get free Verde Valley train tickets. I ended up sick but my husband drove to the clubhouse to see & was told it wasn’t at the resort. The drive was way on the other side of the outskirts of Sedona which took him about 30 min to drive too. When he got there he was told he had to stay a min of 2 hours for a presentation... not a less than an hour look at a room.

Great value for the money. Our studio was very spacious and conveniently located adjacent to a hot tub and pool. The location in west Sedona was actually great as we were close to a few trails, grocery stores, and more local restaurants versus the very busy downtown.

Only issues were the WiFi truly does not work (disappointed that we still paid a resort fee for it), our shower grout was moldy, and they were pretty aggressive in trying to sell us on sitting through a time share presentation.

Our room was extremely old and dated - just wasn’t fresh & it didn’t feel clean. The couch was full of fresh questionable stains, so we covered it with towels. The bathroom sink was clogged, Our ceiling fan didn’t work, and room had an adjoining room with guests in it and the walls are paper thin so we heard EVERYTHING they did and said. Most of the pools look as though they haven’t been cleaned in a few years, but the one clean one was great when it wasn’t full of unsupervised kids. our room wasn’t cleaned at all during our stay. When i called about it they said because if COVID (No one told me that upon check in) Cell service is non existent - I work from my phone so that was really hard. The place served its purpose and gave us a place to stay close to the attracts we were interested in - just know that you get what you pay for. Bottom line, I wouldn’t stay here again

We exchanged through the Vacation International website for a one bedroom unit at Sedona Summit. I had read good and bad about this resort. Our experience was good. At check in the concierge didn't badger us and we didn't go for a welcome package as we have been to Sedona and had an agenda. Check in was easy, covidly clean and fast. Our room was 105 which is on the first floor. Our patio view was the pool. Our front entry way faced Thunder Mountain.

The condo was fully furnished with everything we expected. I was not really expecting internet service or our TMobile phones to work but the internet was good enough and our phones worked fine. The unit is large and comfortable. The furniture and appliances nice. The king sized bed was very comfortable. The extra large bath tub was a nice place to soak. The washer and dryer are stackable medium sized and work fine. We had no maid service likely because of the covid 19 and we were fine with this. We were too busy to use the fitness center, pool , hot tub , bbq's and other amenities.

Our main activity was hiking, biking and 4x4ing. The resort is near many decent hiking and biking areas. We brought our ebikes and decided that the single track trails were a bit much for a heavy ebike. We rode the ebikes mainly on the roads and large trails. It was a blast and no one said anything to us about using ebikes except in jest. There are so many bike trails very close to the resort with a parking area a few of blocks away from the resort near the college. We drove to the Grand Canyon a ebiked the South Rim to Hermits Nest. Some of the off roading we did included Schenbly Hill. Definitly a 4x4 road with some great views.

The businesses in Sedona were pretty much all open and their requests for Covid compliance was pretty much 100%. It must be the Sedona vibe.

Bill

It all started on arrival, the time share sales pitch, we're tired and hungry and check-in was very, very slow and then came the sales pitch. The cleaning staff must have glass backs and cannot clean under the furniture. I dropped my keys behind a table and what a discovery. You are instructed to put your trash outside your door and they will pick it up, maybe sometime after leave a week later. Coffee, my wife even called to see what kind of coffee machine was in our unit so we could bring the correct type of coffee since I start my day with java. It took two days to get a functional coffee pot.
Towels, be prepared to launder your own towels if you want clean towels. I wouldn't stay at the Sedona Summit Resort even if it was free.
