As we pulled in, I was really pleased with the resort. The staff at the front desk was incredibly friendly. he website indicated that we would have a dedicated concierge in our area (north Agave suite) a newly renovated room and upgraded amenities like bathrobes and water bottles. The hotel room itself was unimpressive. the carpets were older and the room layout was odd. There were no bathrobes, barely enough towels and the room was uncomfortably warm. We made sure to adjust the thermostat too cool it off and headed to the Water park. As an amenity included in the hotel, it was perfect. The lazy river, the multiple pools and the poolside bar were LOVELY! We very much enjoyed our time at the pool and thought the bartenders at Slim Pickens were awesome :)

On the way back we wandered to the front to ask our concierge about some local dinner recommendations and breakfast in the morning, only to find NO ONE in the lobby for our hotel, so we had to trek back to the main lobby. Staff there was once again very nice and said, oh yeah, the concierge over there is on medical leave so we have no one to staff it. (i get that, but let us know when we check in, because trekking thru the outside hotel space in 111 degree heat is not ideal). She also assured us that breakfast was included in our stay and told us where to go in the morning. The staff then gave us a ride to the recommended restaurant in their golf cart (very nice).
When we returned that night, the room was still uncomfortably warm. (I am always cold, and usually want to turn the ac off, so for me to complain that it was warm means it was warm!). We couldn't get it cooler. SO, while the beds were comfy, it was not a good night's rest, as I kept waking up in a sweat.
The next day, we went for breakfast and the restaurant and food was enjoyable. Our waitress was great too! (Go Gracie). We did note that it was a bit pricey for breakfast, but asked how it worked with our rooms and the staff said--we bill breakfast to your room and they will waive the cost.

At checkout, we were billed for breakfast. I pointed out that we were told it was included in the room and only went to breakfast there because of that. The staff was great and indicated that they would honor this but said they had no idea why were were told it was part of our package. (seems like this happens often, where it's a separate package that gets confused).

In addition, they said they have a lobby bar, and it's lovely, but both times that we were in the lobby, there was no one at the bar and it wasn't staffed. In addition one or two of the on-sight restaurants seemed to be closed as well.

My son went to work out in the gym and said it was pretty average and not "state of the art" as described on the website.

Summary:
The staff gets an A+,
The pools get an A,
The room, the facilities other than the pools, and the way things are managed get a C.

I chose the Hilton because they are generally above average in terms of cleanliness. This hotel needs some upgrades and personnel need to check things out as I got into the shower to find out there's no shower gel or the dispenser is not working. The toilet is small that when you sit on it you are afraid to touch the water underneath.

Overall it is OK, but it is not worth 360 per night.

Staff were friendly and did address the issue raised very quickly. Resort is dated, but adequate. Biggest disappointment was that having paid for breakfast included, I expected an extensive buffet option as I receive in UK. Instead breakfast was fixed A la carte from resturant across the car park, which was limited in options as well as value of $65 which did not allow for a drink plus meal for 3 people - let alone the tax and tip which is not included in that.
Another disappointment was that the water slide at the park was only opened on request. This restricted this as an option for the 2 days we stayed there. On our final day the water park opened at 9am, however we wre Informed that the slide was opening at 11am which is check out time! This meant we were unable to avail of one of the main attractions, and the main reason we chose this resort in the first place.
Overall, this resort was Disappointing and not the Hilton experience I have become accustomed to as use Hilton regularly and up to this year been a Hilton Gold Honors member

Great check in experience (which was such a refreshing contrast to the crappy experience we had at the Biltmore Hilton). Mateo was polite, gave us relevant information & was personable. The coffee shop was just perfect with really good customer service. I’m room dining was efficient and good quality breakfast. I also use the gym across the building, it was clean and tons of workout options. Overall this has been the best Hilton in the Phoenix area in terms of service.

I recently stayed at this hotel and was quite disappointed with my experience. The property is in dire need of renovation as it appears quite run-down and outdated. Cleanliness was a major issue; the room and common areas did not meet basic hygiene standards. Additionally, the customer service was severely lacking. The staff seemed uninterested in assisting guests and were often unavailable when needed.

The overall ambiance of the hotel was not welcoming, and it failed to provide a comfortable or enjoyable stay. Given the condition of the facilities and the poor service, I would strongly advise against staying here until significant improvements are made. There are likely better options available that can offer a more pleasant and satisfactory experience.

We had a 'staycation' at Hilton Phoenix Resort at the Peak a couple of weeks ago and the experience was not great. The first room we received was on the first floor and it was dark and felt like a dungeon, it was one of their 'upgraded' rooms, but it felt like a cheap motel.
The second room was also 'upgraded', it was on the 4th floor and it had stained carpets and a musty odor. The AC unit was extremely loud and worked without stopping and yet, it didn't cool off the room. The main reason we came was to enjoy the water park. We were not aware that it has limited hours, it's only open 10am -6pm. Check in is after 4pm, by the time we got in and got settled in our room the water park closed. This 'staycation' cost us $400 for one night -room, water park, breakfast and dinner for 2 people. That's waaaay too expensive for what we got. Everything on this property is old and outdated, even their 'upgraded' rooms. Not worth it at all.

We stayed here for 3 nights last week for a graduation celebration. Yes, the resort needs a refresh, but the employees are what makes this resort great. We arrived early, and the young man checking us in was pleasant and offered early checkin for $30. A bellman hopped on a golf cart and showed us to our room. Both young men were pleasant and very helpful.
The suite was clean, yes the furniture was nicked up but it didn't affect the comfort of the room. We asked for fresh towels and extra coffee daily, and the housekeepers were there within 15 minutes. Trash was picked up if we set it outside our door in the morning. We had a teenager sleeping in so we didn't want a full clean but it is available if you call guest services.
We rented a cabana at the pool on Saturday. We brought a couple of tubes but there were others available at the lazy river for free. There are a limited number so I'd suggest bringing your own. For the price, I'd suggest an upgrade of furniture and better towels, not a deal breaker but it would be a better experience if things were a bit nicer. Go early to get the cabana you want.
Special shout out to George in Maintenance who picked me up in the parking lot when it was 103 and gave me a ride back to our building. I saw him multiple times over our stay giving rides and being helpful to other guest. This is another example of stellar staff.
This is a great family resort still reasonably priced. Starbucks in the lobby is an added bonus. On site restaurant Hole in the Wall had great service and delicious brisket nachos.

Not expected from a Hilton name… The resort outside looks promising, nice buildings, garden area, decent swimming pool (up to 4feet deep), plenty of parking (free)… but then it comes the nightmare… The room we got supposed to be a non-smoking like all other rooms but as soon as we walked in the room, the heavy smell (I would rather use word stink) of something hit us hard.. the AC was working at the highest power to eliminate the stink but no luck…. It was clear that room was a smoker room. Went down and replaced the room. Reception clerk denied (at least he said he is not aware) that room was stinky, i offered him to come with me and check, he “trusted” my nose and gave us another room. OK, new room, new challenges… The room entry door was very have to open, you have to use your shoulder to get inside of the room. Once inside, you cannot lock it completely… At that time i was too tired to go down again and complain (after 1100km of driving)… We planned to spend two nights and visit out friends so we left it as-is… Well, the safe was in the room but not working… With not fully lockable room, i have to carry all my important items with me or leave them in my car. Since it is Phoenix with 45 degrees Celsius outside, the AC should be working fine. It is, but ducts were not cleaned for a long time and we were smelling the dirt… Anyhow, next day at the checkout i have mentioned all these things and got a “resort fee” waived but not sure, since it was charged to my credit card already. Now i have to fight to get my charges refunded as promised by reception’ clerk (different one).
So, bottom line - do not stay here. There are other good places to spent you dollars in Phoenix. I booked this hotel just because my friends are living few blocks away..

There are few decent restaurants around, one good Italian food and Mediterranean place, self car wash to wash off all those bugs from your car. Remember to dry it out after or you will end up with mineral spots all over your car… Starbucks is here too..
Again, find other place to stay…

This is an older resort, but well maintained and comfortable. The water park is fun for the kids and other pools were great too.

One major issue for me was that the laundry facilities were poor. For a resort that is family oriented and most often extended stays of several days to a week, it has two areas each with one washer and dryer. Neither were in working order when we were there. Very frustrating, as we had baseball uniforms to wash and no facility to do it. The laundromats in the area were in questionable neighborhoods. We ended up doing no laundry, the baseball uniforms were worn dirty. I was extremely disappointed in this aspect.

Otherwise the resort was great.

We were traveling through Phoenix doing a military move to our new home in Texas. We stayed in the North Wong. Overall out stay was comfortable, but there was some noticeable issues that the resort could improve upon. Our room was fairly clean, but the furniture, carpet and tub showed signs of wear and tear, as dirty spots and stains were evident. Pools were large and lazy River was nice, but weren’t entirely clean. Lazy river water had green color of algae. Hotel staff was non-existent in our wing and, if seen, were not receptive or friendly. There were no luggage carts as they were all chained to a gate and no staff available for help retrieving one. Front desk staff tried to pitch paid upgrade hard for another room, despite my gold membership and declining several times. No cleaning service during our stay, except for 7:30 in the morning when they were trying to push us out as we were getting ready to leave (so they could turn down the room early), despite a check out time of 1100. Pest control service is needed, too, as we found a scorpion in our bathroom. Most of the advertised activities, bar, or dining facilities were on the opposite side of the resort, which was inconvenient. Other advertised dining/bars locations were closed, so we were less motivated to use our food credit. Should’ve opted for the points.

While my review sounds negative, I only mention to pint out issues that are needed for improvement. It did make for a nice stay and my kids really enjoyed the water park and the pools. They did put our number out coolers of water for people at the water park and was greeted by a staff member (in the opposite wing) with a bottle of water. Air conditioning was cold and kept us happy in the heat. The resort is in a nice location not more than 15 minute drive from anything in Phoenix. We would definitely stay here again if we pass through! 7/10 overall.

All the pools are family friendly from what we saw. River Ranch has 3 pools, 2 have volleyball nets, 1 has a waterfall. It’s a small waterpark but the river is long. The rental cabanas are all throughout the park. For more quiet, I’d recommend the center of the river. The hotel buildings have their own small pools with “cabanas” I think you order drinks/food from. But we stayed in North Pointe last weekend and the “cabana” was closed. All pools and River Ranch say no outside food or drink. If you’re looking for peace and quiet at an adult only pool, I’d recommend a different hotel.

We stayed and enjoyed the water park last weekend. Plenty of chairs if you get there when they open, you don’t need to rent a cabana. The water park is small, only 1 slide. We just enjoyed the lazy river. The water was pretty cold but I’m sure it will feel nice in June heat. Wear waterproof shoes, we burned our feet on the pavement walking to the river!
