To be honest, given the affordable price we had low expectations- but this was nice than our accommodations in much more expensive establishments! Great service, a fun atmosphere, clean and extensive facilities, large rooms. It does get a bit noisy at night but that's to be expected.

Old rooms, poor condition, noisy, towels not clean and old one, reception is very busy, don’t give you enough information, and not helping with you can do in this area. I wouldn’t recommend this place to stay, I stayed one night and run away, you can find better places

hostels can be and will always be hit and miss. from the great experiences of meeting new like minded people to the absolute worst of human travellers. my time here was good, the breakfasts were okay but i ended up paying extra for eggs every morning as everything that was put out was too sweet. the coffee was excellent! the reception staff were always top notch and helpful and the bathrooms were always clean. the dorm rooms were cleaned everyday and beds made...even if you made your bed its done again to their high standard. a couple of things, 1. every dorm would benefit from signage and a strict briefing upon arrival about noise after 10pm, as not everyone wants to party and be rowdy until 4am in the am and yes you can hear everything whilst in the dorms. 2nd would be better recycling awareness and practices, there weren't any separation bins nor were there any signs etc. this is a high turnover hostel and lowering the impact in a beautiful place would be great to see.

We arrived there at night time, the staff was welcoming and always attentive. The location is great, close to the Main Street, to supers and restaurants. What we didn’t like is the room itself. The bed was horrible with uncomfortable pillows. The breakfast also wasn’t for our taste.

Really a high turnover hostel. We got a suite. We found a king size bed + two single beds. Comfortable king bed, dirty and terribly small bathroom to a huge spacious sleeping + sitting area... shack style decor. Warm room, very cold bathroom. Literally a glass door business space converted into a hotel suite. Noise of people is heard inside the room all times from 4am. Not even a complimentary bottle of water is offered with the suite. Not to return.

Friendly, helpful and very pleasant stay for two nights early April - exactly what I was needing and expecting. Clean with all the appropriate services for the price range. Spacious and quiet rooms and very close to the main street and to the Wetlands Reserve

This hostel is located several blocks back from the Main Street in El Calafate. Staff were very helpful with organising tours for us (even checking the weather forecast to make sure we got the best day to visit the glacier) and telling us about the town. We stayed in the hosteria part of the hostel where the private rooms are located and our room was very spacious. One gripe is that people across the corridor were smoking in their room and this wafted through into our room overnight. This was unpleasant because we are travelling with a one year old. If the property had smoke detectors fitted it would not occur but they don’t seem to be the standard across South America. The kitchen was quite basic but had enough that we could cook for our daughter. Breakfast was okay but not very healthy. Would be nice to have some healthy options served up such as fresh fruit and whole grain options. Otherwise the stay was fab.

we have been there twice in two different rooms, two nights each stay. it was clean and a comfortable size. like a hotel where you also have a kitchen to use. it was cleaned every day and the staff was friendly and supportive. breakfast was ok compared to my other breakfast in Argentina, but not close to German hotel standard.

We stayed at this hostel admittedly in a private room. No clue about the dorms but the private room with two beds was really good. Enough space for the backpacks and all your stuff. The breakfast was not exactly good that's why we only tried it out once and on other days we just packed our lunch ourselves and skipped breakfast. The hostel is nicely located and there is a really good laundry service just up the street --> Suave (totally worth going there!) El Calafate in general was kind of boring around New Years eve because the restaurants were either fully booked (with huge and expensive dinners and all) or closed. We ended up going to a little shop buying a couple of beers and empanadas and since the hostel had such a nice common room with big tables, a balcony and tvs, we just spent our night there. They have more than one kitchen to cook your own food and all. The fridge was not exactly clean and we didn't really want to store our food there though I guess that's often the case. The hostel is pretty big so you get a lot of people...
