Los Juncos-Patagonian Lake House is an antique southern style hotel, for shelter of few. Totally remodelated, it is located in one of the most pacific corners of Lake Nahuel Huapi, with an amazing view, 20 km away from Barilcohe city, on the way to Llao Llao. Our chef cooks, exclusively “a la carte”, with our own harvested vegetables and “conservas”, homemade bread and pasta. We can help you organizing all the activities you would like to enjoy your days in Bariloche(rafting, sailing, skiing, golf, flyfishing, biking, hiking,). Car rentals and transportation bookings are also available.

In February 2007 I was a first-timer guest in Los Juncos and fell in love with that place instantly! As I finally had another reason to travel down to Bariloche, the dices were clear: I wanted some more of that 'my own house'-feeling and chatting with Gonzalo, the main dude there, Flavia, my fairy and Gaby, the fast-talking cook. Of course, carrying with me a big glass of a tasty Malbec. The jazz or soul music, gently whispering from the background. The interior is very cozy. VERY! And has an overall vintage style with a perfect selection of things. The lights match perfectly and you can grab, use and ask for everything you wish. I wanted to use the internet, they gave me their office. I wanted a nice big espresso, and they literally handed me over the espresso machine. I want to see how the cook works his art, they invited me to the kitchen. As a friend. In my room I get every night a bottle of still water and a chocolate. The view to the big lake is hipnotizing. The food, oh gosh, the food! Hmmm...Basically what I felt again at my second time there was, to have this great illusion of being in my own house. Here in the beauty. Bariloche. Without a doubt, I am just starting with my addiction and am glad to have found it! Los Juncos should stay like that. Stay small, personal and welcome their guests as a friend. And from what I know about these people, they will make damn sure it stays like that!

Thi is our 4th visit to the region of San Carlos de Bariloche. It seems that this place is attracting us magnetically. Having visited the region between San Martin de los Andes and Bariloche before, incl. stays at such well known places like the LlaoLLao, Design Suites, the Aldebaran or Las Balsas (Villa LaAngostura) we felt entitled to write a review about what we have EXPERIENCED TO BE THE TRUE (and probably BEST) IN PATAGONIAN HOSPITALITY.
Through a close friend we have only recently heard of an absolute insider's tip in Bariloche. A place kept so secrectly it doesn't need a webpage. With only 5 magnificient rooms THE POSADA LOS JUNCOS was a true eye opener for us and a refreshing experience when comparing to all the other standard and me-too hotels along avenida Bustillo.
To start with LOS JUNCOS can only be booked directly (not via travel agents). (Call Flavia or email her at : [--]).
When arriving to the Posada we couldn't help but feel welcomed and 'at home' from the first second. The extremely cozy decoration (by the owner, a famous designer living in Buenos Aires) lacks of everything that normally reminds you of a hotel. There is no lobby or reception, only a huge and dead comfortable living room where afternoon tea and italian (!!!) coffee is served and where Flavia - the manager - will explain tonite's menus or brief you on your activties. Our room was very nicely decorated and very spacious (3 bathrooms!), which came handy as we were travelling with our 10 month old baby boy. The view on the lake Nahuel Huapi was very charming, especially in the morning when waking up and during breakfast. The place was very quiet and clean all times and the food was fresh and well prepared. But what we've loved most about LOS JUNCOS was the fact that WE NEVER ACTUALLY FELT AT A HOTEL. Even though there was no huge SPA or Concierge, Flavia would satisfy all our request and read from our lips. Private massage in the room, our preferred meal and hell she would even lend us her Blockbuster card to select a movie! And that all for a room rate which would make us almost feel bad....
For us there is only one place in Bariloche we can recommend with a pure heart and mind, a place where you will allways want to come back: LOS JUNCOS - THX FLAVIA!

My wife and I stayed 2 nights. It is very handy for touring the Chico circuit and walking around the Llao Llao peninsula. If you don't want to drive in the evening to dine (it is about 20km from Bariloche), they do offer a limited range of reasonably priced dishes which you have to order by 6pm. It is a fixed range and doesn't change. We ate there both nights and were very happy with quality and service. There is a very reasonably priced bar run on an honesty basis (the Kaiken Malbec was about 680 pesos a bottle if my memory is correct). Lucas and his wife Lucia, which run the hotel, were very friendly indeed, with good English. They gave us several recommendations on things to do in the local area. Parking is off road, and as a previous reviewer said might happen, we did drive by when trying to find it the first night, as I did not see the sign in time, but only for about 20 metres (if you reach the entrance to the Club de Regattas you've gone too far) and it was easy to turn around. Also, whilst the short but steepish drive leading up to the property is not paved, it isn't a big deal. Unlike a previous reviewer, we did not hear any dogs, only occasional traffic noise - the bus stop is outside. But the road never seemed busy at any time (late November). The breakfast was continental buffet with a selection of eggs cooked on demand, and bread baked fresh daily. Our room on the ground floor was adequate. The bed was comfortable, though the bathroom was cramped. However, the water for the shower was hot and it was powerful. Unless you stay in your room, there is only the one public area to congregate in, so we soon got chatting to the other guests. Yes, it's not 5 star luxury but we felt it was home from home.

Although the owners and staff were lovely, we felt $130 USD / night was way too expensive for the room we got. The tiny bathroom was Discusting with black mouldy grout and stained cement floor. Place and outside is so run down and cheaply appointed. The breakfast was very good although we were told after having eggs during our 4 day stay to pay for them during check out. It was offered every morning with no sign or talk that they were an extra charge. A good 1/2 drive to a restaurant in town prompted us to have dinner there the first night. It was the worst dinner we have EVER had in Argentina and in our travels!! And was so expensive as well!!!
This is a $50 USD hotel within Argentinian standards!

We were looking for a nice lakeside B&B and selected Los Juncos based on the great TA reviews. Unfortunately the stay was a big disappointment and did not live up at all to the reviews. The house is actually located on the main road on the opposite side to the lake. Yes, there are lake views but not great ones. And the traffic noise is definitely noticeable. The place is quite old and has a certain rustic charm which may suit a lot of people but not at the prices charged by Los Juncos. The bedroom was quite small and with a very tiny en-suite bathroom. The wifi in the bedroom was so slow as to be virtually unusable. No cable TV. However, the house does have a large and cosy communal lounge and dining area which is where we used the internet. We ate in and had a very nice meal prepared by the owner, Gabriel. However, the meal was not cheap. But the most disappointing aspect of the whole stay was the cold and unfriendly service and the feeling that all they were worried about was making money. I love Nespresso coffee but at $4 for a capsule? No thanks. We were asked to settle the bill the night before checking out. The next morning, we felt quite unwelcome as we sat in the living room using the internet. Therefore, we quickly packed and left, moving up the road to a much nicer hotel right on the water at 40% less price. We had become accustomed to extremely friendly owners at the various B&B's throughout Chile and Argentina so our stay at Los Juncos left us feeling quite deflated.

Lovely little lakeside bed and breakfast by the lake. Away from the bustle of bariloche. Hostel was lovely and the place has a delightful cosy feel. Rooms were individually decorated and spotlessly clean. Dinner was a bit hit and miss but made with love so can't complain. Highly recommend staying here

My wife and I enjoyed 4 very special nights at this B&B. The lodging offers excellent value for your money. The owner and hostess Agustina is a very warm person who really has a very nice house. We stayed in the alma room on the top floor and it was very specious, well furnished and comfortable. Agustina is a marvelous baker and chef. Breakfasts are very good but don't miss having at least one dinner where she prepares several very tasty meals including starters and desserts. The location is a bit far from town - 20-25 min by car- but if you are looking to go on a boat trip, go trekking in the woods and hills, take an unforgettable 26 km scenic drive or just enjoy drinks at the world famous LaoLao Resort then everything is within 10-15 minutes of the house. We found Los Juncos to be a great B&B. I highly recommend it to anyone staying in the Bariliche area.

A group of 8 rented out the entire house for a week and had the most fabulous time. Agustina and Gaby took care of everything little thing we could possibly need or want. They arranged entertainment for the evening, they arranged all of our fantastic meals, they even hosted and catered the destination wedding we were traveling for, right on the property. They were truly the most fantastic of people and hosts. Gaby's cooking is OUT OF THIS WORLD. From Eggplant lasagna, to lamb bourguignon, to perfectly made pineapple or malbec sorbet, each course typically came with three options to choose from and there was never a wrong choice. Since we had the entire house to ourselves our experience might have been a little different than a regular visit, but I feel that I can truly call them friends. They were just as much apart of the vibe at the house as the group of friends I was traveling with. If you are in Bariloche, you are doing yourself a disservice if you choose NOT to stay at the wonderful Los Juncos Lake House. Also, request the room Alma. The lay down tub was the perfect way to relax after a long grueling hike.

We had a wonderful three nights at Los Juncos in January 2015 and would recommend it to anyone who wants a warm and homely stay. The atmosphere is hugely enhanced by the host, Agustina and Gaby, the chef - both of whom are unfailingly friendly and helpful.

The house itself has a well used and comfortable feel, so if you are looking for a minimalist, sterile environment, this is not for you. There are numerous antiques and unusual features including a random 'Roman' column in one corner of the main dining cum sitting room.

During our stay we met Argentinians and Brits and we all chatted and socialised - almost a house-party atmosphere. We ate in all three nights of our stay and greatly enjoyed Gaby's excellent and enthusiastic cooking.

Our room was Aire and very fine it was too. Plenty of space, good view and comfortable bed. No slick bathroom, but everything worked and an occasional lapse in the hot water department was no more than a passing concern.

The Posada is has a busy road in front of it, but somehow that never seemed to intrude on the view (it is well below the house) or the sleep quality.

Posada los Juncos offers great value for money and we have no hesitation in recommending it wholeheartedly - thank you Agustina and Gaby.

A great surprise to find such a home away from home! After arriving in a beautiful part of the lakeshore west of Bariloche we were received by the extremely friendly Gaby, who proved himself to be an excellent chef (not without a little help of Renata). Many personal touches make it an unforgettable experience, from handwritten name-signs, open bar with the 'book of honesty', to the arrangement of a rental car within 2 hours after arrival. Strongly recommended, clean spacious rooms decorated to immediately make you feel at home.
