Spent a night at this hotel in mid December. The hotel is fairly old and tired, noticeable in carpets and furniture. But the bed was comfortable, bathroom clean and serviceable, and unlike other reviews no strange smells or broken fixtures. If you are on a budget this hotel will get the job done, the location is perfect for Recoleta. Doorman is indifferent. In many ways this feels more like a studio in AirBnb than an hotel, but it works if all you want is a decent place as a base in BA.
Across the street from the Alvear Palace and a block away from the Cementerio, hotel is a great location from which to explore Buenos Aires. Subway stop within walking distance. Rooms were comfortable, nothing luxurious, but equipped with kitchenette and refrigerator, helping with meal costs. Staff was friendly and helpful, breakfast was usual buffet.
Stayed here with my university for 2 weeks, was a pleasant stay! The only issue was the WiFi, it’s not reliable, but other than that I’d recommend this place. The staff was amazing, the breakfast served was wonderful, I would stay here again.
A Very old hotel but it has its charm. They have a really old style Elevator where you have to open the doors manually i found it quite interesting but i can see how some people would have a panic attack in it lol. The room is old and dated so is the bathrooms, but i found everything to be clean and comfortable. This is an old Hotel so the soundproofing in the hotel is horrible its why i left music on but the bed was comfortable and i slept like a baby with my music on though. If your one of those people who cant sleep unless its dead silence then i suggest finding another place. Security was decent and they always had someone at the front desk the doors are locked at night except for guests. Overall a nice cheap hotel in recoleta and i would recommend if your on a bit of a budget. Its easy to grab a taxi just walk over to alvear hotel right beside it there is always one or two waiting there.…
The hotel have a good location, near the most important place what you need to know in Recoleta, like Recoleta Mall, square, cemetery and Pilar’s church, the friendly staff. There are goods restaurants. I reccomend the El Burladero has a great paella.
Great location in the heart of Recoleta next to Alvear Palace Hotel. Hotel has great potential but needs maintenance, thorough cleaning, and some updating. I rented a duplex for 10 days. The bathtub/shower upstairs was cracked and the rain showerhead was partially obstructed although with plenty of hot water. The sheets were too small to cover the mattress until I brought it to management attention. Only one of two elevators worked and it barely held 2 adults. There was no apparent attempt to repair the other. Be aware they are not very flexible on early check in or late checkout and want to charge extra for those items. It does have a small kitchenette with sink, refrigerator and microwave, handy for leftovers. The sofa bed on first level does not provide much support for sleeping but is available. Bathroom on lower level has shower as part of the room, with no shower curtain. The toilets in both bathrooms run constantly. With a thorough cleaning, some replacements (i.e., bathtub), and maintenance it would be a much better lodging option. …
We came in on New Years day to stay a few days before taking a cruise. Everything was closed but the desk clerk told where a cafe was located. The room was comfortable and he loaned us an adapter to keep our gear charged. The staff were all very kind and we were very glad we stayed here.
Stayed her for 5 nights with my daughter who is staying there for 6 weeks. Very comfortable room with great bed and efficient air conditioning and ceiling fan. Excellent location in Recoleta near the cemetery, shopping and restaurants. Front desk staff is very accommodating and all speak English. Many thanks to Jorge G, Orlando and Wis for their advice and help! A quite oasis in the middle of the busy city. About 30 minute walk to the city center.
Ulises Recoleta Suites was a perfect base from which to explore Buenos Aires. The location is fabulous —across the street from the Alvear Palace without the price tag, close to many Recoleta sights. There is also a bus stop around the corner for a bus that brings you downtown to the obelisk. Our suite room was extremely clean and comfortable. There are some good restaurants in close walking distance as well as a kiosk a few doors down for necessities. Great water pressure in the shower and comfy beds were welcoming after long days sightseeing! Desk Staff are very personable and pleasant and also provide the concierge function. I’d go back tomorrow without hesitation.
The location is great! The rooms are clean, and the staff is lovely! There is no many options in the breakfast, but there is a little kitchen in the rooms which can be used - as I was in a business purpose in BsAs, and I go to the gym, the kitchen is a good point! There may have better hotel options, but Ulises is not that bad!
