At the Hyatt Regency Manila, City of Dreams, many guests have commended its ample amenities, family-friendly vibe, and strategic location near shopping and attractions. The luxurious atmosphere and cleanliness, especially in the spacious rooms, are often highlighted, although occasional issues with smoke odors and service speed are noted. This is my second stay at this hotel, unfortunately I was not able to write a review for the first stay.

I was transiting through Manila en route to Boracay for a wedding, a large group of us from Australia were staying with the hotel before heading to the wedding. Prior to my stay, I had a few email exchanges with the club lounge staff, I wanted to have a small gesture ready for the bride and groom upon check in. The staff were more than happy to be apart of the celebrations, I was happy to pay for the service I had asked for but the staff did not want to accept any payment.

Upon check in with the club lounge I enquired about our email correspondence, there was a slight communication error with the date of check in for the bride and groom, they had already prepped my request and delivered it to my room. I apologised for the misunderstanding and again offered to pay for the service for the correct check in date, once again the staff refused and were happy to help.

When the bride and groom arrived with the large group from Australia, you can imagine the already busy lobby was over run by wide eyed Aussies, I went up to the club lounge to see if they were able to process the check in for the bride and groom despite their booking for a standard room. Again the lounge staff were happy to oblige and brought refreshments for them as they checked in at the lounge. The couple were surprised to find the welcome gift I had requested and were over the moon especially as the hotel catered towards their dietary needs.

The lounge had a small selection of snacks to try but were of high quality, the staff are very tentative to the guests within the lounge, always checking in to see if we needed any additional food and beverage. We would always find ourselves at the lounge for the convenience and atmosphere.

As for the accommodation room, it is very spacious and great value for money, there is more room than anyone would need and rivaled much more expensive 5 star property rooms I have stayed with. The bathroom had a separate shower and free standing bath tub and two basins.

Hotel location is great for Pasay, it's just off the main roads so its easy to get around and not get too bogged down by traffic, there's a complimentary shuttle service to SM which is easily accessible and spotted.

The hotel pickup service was easy to located at NAIA 3 and was a very short and comfortable ride to the hotel, I had opted for a van service as there was 3 of us arriving at the time. We were escorted from the transfer counter through to the pickup area and ushered into the vehicle.

Only thing I could point a slight negative towards is the small gym facility, understandably not many guests would utilise the gym while on holiday but it would be great if it was slightly larger with more equipment.

Will definitely consider staying again just for the convenience of the hotel property and the lounge service, thanks again!

Hyatt Regency offers a luxurious and relaxing stay for people who wants to have peace and quiet. I stayed at the hotel last Dec 7 for my sister's pre- birthday celebration. The staff are friendly and was nice enough to upgrade us to a deluxe room! The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was superb with a humongous bathtub which is ideal for a very relaxing bubble bath, big sink, and ample shower room which has a rain shower feature. The only thing I'm not sold to is the bathroom door lock since there was none at all haha. I guess it was a design for all the single bedrooms but it was not for me haha nevertheless, the room was superb! I was bot able to use the pool since there was no time but I had a great view of it from the room. There were very few people using the pool, I only saw a couple of kids so I think social distancing is strictly implemented. Reservation for pool usage is required. Face shield and mask required at all times inside the property and with lots of alcohol dispensers available for guest use Thanks again to Front Desk staff Nica for a warm welcome! Thanks Hyatt Regency City of Dreams!

We stayed here for one night on our way to Coron. I had picked this hotel because of its proximity to the airport, for the Hyatt brand, and for the fact it was attached to a casino and shopping. We had been in Manila in late December and had stayed in Makati so I wanted to check out another part of Manila. We used their pick up and drop off service at the airport. The reservations had been done through emails and the Hyatt app, so I was very happy that they were there waiting for us even though our flight from Laoag (the capital of Ilocos Norte, a province in the Philippines) was very delayed. I booked 2 rooms (again using the Hyatt app) and I was able to use my points reducing the rate by half!! The rooms were huge, the bathroom was enormous with separate shower, toilet and his and hers vanities. These rooms were much bigger than the rooms I had stayed at in Boston and New York. I had read several complaints about the smoke from the casino, but other than when we were near the casino, the smell was minimal. My husband and son have asthma, and they weren’t bothered by it at all. We had a very early flight the next day so we ordered room service for breakfast. The food came on time and was very good, although pricey ($30 for an American breakfast !)
I would stay here if being close to the airport is a concern.

Pros: close to airport, big rooms, On time services, attached to casino, restaurants and shops, nice pool area from what I could see from my room

Cons: expensive breakfast, “grittier” side of Manila compared to Makati

When you stay in a 5-star hotel, you are looking forward not only to the amenities and the room itself but also to the friendly staff and their hospitality. But unfortunately, it's unbearable to stay in Hyatt Regency, City of Dreams.

For any hitch or problems we encountered so far, we settled by paying because we understand the Policy of the hotel. Like for extra guest, they charged us even they didn't give extra pillows; corkage fees for our Cake and Whisy, we paid even if we didn't see any cake from the menu. That is how we respect and followed the rules. Even if we were hoping for leniency considering that most of their restaurants are closed.

But what really irks me is when they didn't allow my friend's Fifine USB Microphone inside the hotel. When my friend asked Roy from the Front Desk the reason, he said that generally, Mics are not allowed in the hotel.

My friend then asked for the justification and Roy said that it's because we can't use it for Karaoke. But we are not going to use it for Karaoke, we are going to use it for Zoom Meeting. And so, my friend explained again that we're going to use it for Zoom but Roy reminded us that the nature of our stay is a staycation. Even Mr. Carlo, the Night Duty Manager agreed and our mic was then surrendered in the concierge.

That's when I went down from my room and I confronted the manager and ask for the Hotel Policy prohibiting microphones inside the hotel. Considering that even my earphone and Cellphone have microphones, I really can't think of an acceptable reason why it's not allowed. I also challenged him to google search whether I could use the USB Mic as a Karaoke Microphone and if yes, how are we going to have a Karaoke Party without a speaker in the room?

Roy, from the front desk, rudely told me "Heto na po". I am baffled that such a disappointing attitude was exhibited in front of his Manager. And Mr. Carlo, the night duty manager didn't even care to bother and didn't excuse himself when he left us. (Apparently, Roy and Carlo is a tandem, read some reviews here, THEY ARE NOTORIOUS TOGETHER.)

When I checked some Youtube videos, vloggers are using microphones, and they seems to be able to use them without a problem.

So after all the brouhaha, the mic was given to us.

What was the reason in the first place? Why would you stress me like that when all of us wanted to relax and enjoy the weekend?

Our stay was spoiled.

The next day, we went to the Pool, we asked whether we could charge our drinks and food to the room, so we can just go without our wallets. They said, of course.

We ordered in the Wave restaurant, and when we asked for the Bill, they told me that I have to pay for Cash or Credit Card as our request was denied. I asked again, why? They told me that we have reached our limit. Seriously? They should have told me from the start.

Again, why will you stress us out with these things?

Instead of having an enjoyable stay, we ended up regretting everything.

The hotel isn't without issues. Casino is front and center once enter, dominating the foyer. They scan guests' laguage at the entrance a-la airport, probably to safeguard casino, which does not create a relaxing atmosphere for guests. They charge obnoxious $50 for a short transfer from the airport (whereas most hotels in similar position would run a free shuttle given proximity). And I wouldn't describe the property as glamorous or very attractive either. It is rather simple for a 5 star property. Yet I'd recommend it for someone who need to spent one night on a layover, given great staff, great buffet breakfast, comfortable bed and very reasonable rate.

The place is great. The room is clean, dirt-free, the linens are all neat and well ironed. The bathroom are dust-free and all you need is there, the soap, towels, shampoo, conditioner, bath gel, etc. The TV needs to be controlled to be set to Television though you can watch movies but you will need to pay additional.

This is our first time to check in to celebrate my birthday and our anniversary. All the staff were very kind and accommodating. Kudos to sir Roi and ma'am Mikha at the front desk for a smooth check in process and confirming all of our inquiries/questions. To ma'am Melody, we really enjoyed our breakfast twice because she is always there to tend to our requests (especially the bacon, you'll keep coming back for seconds haha) and her jolly attitude. To ate Mary Rose of housekeeping, she is also accommodating and quick on cleaning the room.

The Cafe at the Hyatt. We ate at the cafe off the evening menu ordering their gluten free pizza. We had a very nice waiter, comfortable seat with a view of the huge dinner buffet. The pizza was absolutely terrible. It was on a thick slab of undercooked dough that was inedible. We ate the skimpy toppings with a glass of wine. The next morning we decided to give it another try at the breakfast buffet (1300p or about $23US). At first glance it looked great. There were numerous stations throughout a large area including an omelet and egg bar, ham carving station, Filipino food, Japanese noodles, miso soup, bacon, cheeses, dim sum, breads and pastries. Quantity over quality here. Most of the food was cold despite attempts to keep it warm under lights. Rubbery frittata. Cold pancakes. Undercooked dim sum, tasteless cheese. The only thing I enjoyed was the carved ham. They ran out of most of the food a half hour before closing, even rice! Sorry I wasted my money. It just wasn’t good.

I booked my stay a day before and all seemed pretty standard. However the next day, on the day of my check-in around 10:15am we were informed that we need to get to their authorized partner clinic for a rapid test. I had to cancel a lunch appointment because of that. Upon arriving at the hotel the usual attentive bellhops were noticeably absent, the valet is understandable but not the bellhops. The room and the hotel is in impeccable shape and looks and feels very clean and comfortable though. The staff and the Managers were splendid and even if we encounter a few hiccups they manage our frustrations quite well. Breakfast, was great amenities almost absent. The gym is still closed the pool opens at 9am! Mixed feeling about our stay we enjoyed our room and the staff are great but the additional cost of rapid test and limited services might not be a good value for money.

Our family has checked in to different hotels before but I think Hyatt is the best hotel we’ve stayed over. Free complimentary drinks, daily housekeeping service, and attentive concierge to cater our requests. Only minor issue was the lock in the bathroom of the hotel room we’re staying is not working, and also the check-in process was a bit long. But overall experience has been great, I also like that it is connected to other hotels and has other restaurants aside from the exclusive hotel cafes. There’s also a bank and convenience store in the mall area so you can withdraw cash or buy snacks.
