We stayed here for my husband's convention in the adjoining convention center. This is a small government run hotel and I noticed that they are mostly staffed by trainees from Tesda, hence do manage your expectations.

PROS:

1. Nice clean room (beds are on the firm side)
2. Polite staff, front desk was incredibly nice even if we arrived beyond midnight
3. Good breakfast from BAB (we liked their tapa and danggit breakfast sets)
4. With direct access to Marikina convention center

CONS:
1. Poor soundproofing, it was quite unfortunate that we were placed adjacent a family that allow their kids to run wild (literally running and shrieking in the corridors), these guests also seem not to know how to close their doors and converse with their other relatives in other rooms in such loud voices. Kudos to the front desk for dealing with them when we lodged a complaint.

2. No wi-fi and refrigerator in our room, however these might improve soon since they are still renovating.

3. Flimsy bathroom fixtures, nearly yanked the faucet out while I was trying to switch it to shower mode

My co-worker and I tried today the buffet here in Marikina Hotel. Cafe Flora serves Rice, soup, spag, fruits, fish in different style, pork adobo, giniling na pork, and many more.

Its just cost Php150/head plus 10% service charge.
Also you may add bottomless iced tea or four season.
Or try beer, and coke products in can.

We chose only water, and you will not regret paying the service charge because the waiters are cery sensitive they automatically refills your glass with water.

Ambiance is nice and staffs are
Friendly.
The food is good! Especially the spag.

Lunch is from 10am-3pm
Dinner is from 6pm-10pm

My nieces and I stayed here for 1 night when their swimming competition was held in the nearby Marikina Gym. It was a nice stay and I'm glad that I brought the kids here. I am just sorry that we havent try to eat in Cafe flora. We were suppose to have our breakfast there but it opens at 6:30am while we have to be at the gym at about 6:00. I would like to thank the staff for assisting us in ordering our food at 4:30 in the morning.

Dont stay here if you wish to have a good nights rest. This hotel is very unprofessional for a P2100 peso per night hotel. When we checked in, we were asked to pay for the full amount for our 5 days stay. When we got to our room, I found out that we didnt have any cable TV, NOT as promised in the brochure they gave me in the lobby. There were rats in the room, it kept on eating our snacks left in the table when we werent looking. Their staff dont have any care in the world if they wake you up by shouting at each other while passing the corridor outside your room. What disappointed me the most was around midnight when we were sleeping , we heard very loud shouting outside our room. We were a bit scared because there were very violent curses and accusations thrown around. Me and my wife were very scared there would be trouble. When I finally managed to check the problem, it was the owner berating his painter.

If you decide to stay at this hotel here are a few things to keep in mind before hand:
1. No credit cards and you pay in advance.
2. No hangers or drinking glasses available. I talked to room service & the desk and was told I could borrow one from the restaurant. If you want to brush you teeth bring a glass.
3. The restaurant doesn't change it's buffet menu and most items are cold.

Shop around. For what this hotel charges you can do much better. I only stayed here because it was walking distance to where I was visiting.

Me and my family stayed at the hotel for my sister's wedding. The reception area is comfortable and the ambiance is great. You can sit anywhere and relax.

The rooms are clean and neat, complete with amenities. The sheets and pillow cases are fresh and the closet have available hangers. The only problem is the local phone. I think it's not working.

The food is served on buffet, eat-all-you-can, for as low as Php. 175.00 (that was last Dec. 2012). The food taste great, it would be a waste to have leftovers.

All in all, we had a great stay. Food and appliances are not allowed on the rooms so if you have to use such, you must first ask the receptionist to assists you. I believe they charge additional fees for the appliances.

We stayed for one night in this hotel. No toiletries given, no anything included, just the overnight stay, crappy towels and blankets.. For its rate, so not worth it.. Ate at cafe flora for dinner.. There are a couple of viands that are okay, the rest are just tasteless..

Our stay in this hotel was not a happy experience at all, the room smells moldy, blankets moldy.... its terrible... I wish they will not use any of those of blanket anymore. I dont mind paying in advance but the worst things is they have to keep my driver's license..... no hotel did this in my experience...

So my friend here in the Philippines took me to Marikina Hotel last Saturday for lunch. For 189.00 eat all you can, what can you expect, right? If you live near the hotel and lazy to cook you can just take your family to eat there. They have a lot of food that Filipinos usually cook at home like okoy, spring roll, menudo, ect. The gulaman drink in a small glass was not bottomless which is understandable for the price of 189. But I did not like that we had to ask the lady in the counter for a plate every time we wanted to get another food because she always asked for a stub and she always had to say, "Ah, another plate?" I been to a lot of restaurants for buffet but non of them kept the plates! And the man that was like the supervisor or something was not wearing a uniform. Oh, their spoons and forks were not so nice looking.
Make sure to go there with a car. I think it would be difficult to find a ride going out from that area. It was like inside residential area. The restroom was horrible.
