My family and I had a wonderful stay at the Westin in Capetown. I was disappointed that I could not use my suite upgrades even though I had requested the upgrade almost a year ago. It would have been nice to upgrade even for one night after the weekend rush when the hotel was not as busy. The staff at the reception were great. Check-in was smooth, and I appreciated the late check-out. I loved the large executive rooms ( two connecting rooms) with all the necessary amenities. The views from the room were beautiful, and I was tempted to leave the blinds open all day/night. We had complimentary breakfast and enjoyed the buffet, a wide variety of food, and an omelet station. Breakfast time was hectic, and the staff appeared overwhelmed most of the time. We had access to the Westin Club, the lounge on the 19th floor with amazing views of Table Mountain. We enjoyed the happy hour from 5-7 pm every evening and had a delicious hot breakfast one morning. The staff at the club/lounge -Thabo, Claris, and Dominic- was excellent. The bellmen were fantastic! Thank you all for your hospitality. I did not get to use the spa. The gym was the smallest I have ever seen in a big hotel. Eight people were in the room, and it felt so crowded. The concierge could have been more helpful in providing information about the area. I am used to enthusiastic concierges who are always prepared with a plethora of information. After a lot of nudging, she sent an email with tours but appeared unbothered with answering questions or giving recommendations. Great stay overall.

While looking for hotel options in Cape Town I realised the Westin had it all: location, good feedback on services and staff, and most importantly safety. I can confirm after my 10-days stay that it this is an amazing hotel, with top-class amenities, top-class staff and super safe inside and in the surroundings. From there you can reach the main city attractions with very short walks or taxi rides, making your stay in Cape Town much more relaxed. Highly recommended!

The Westin, Cape Town, is an old hotel, but it continues to maintain its presence, quality, and some high standard in Cape Town. We stayed here for 8 days, during a friend's 60th birthday celebration event in Cape Town. We occupied an executive room and were also given access to the executive club on the 19th floor. The room was very nice, with good linen, bed of high standard. That said, we had to lodge a complaint on the hurried nature of how our room was cleaned on our second day of stay. The bed was not made properly, the carpet floor wasn't cleaned, and the bathroom was half cleaned. It's not good for a 5-star hotel. After complaining, the housekeeper made amends, and the cleaning standard was raised to the highest standard for the duration of our stay. Now, imagine if we hadn't complained! We also ordered food from room service, and half of what we ordered were not brought. Instead, they gave us something else, and the waiter chose to argue with us that our order was correct, despite seeing clearly what was on the ticket, which differs from the food that she brought to us. Tgat said, after waiting for 45 mins for the original order to be brought to us, we reluctantly accepted the wrong order, ate the food, and then lodged our complaints later.😊 The breakfast buffet was alright, but there weren't great or many selections of cold meats in the cold meat section. They really need to improve on this. Lastly, the overall service delivery by some of the staff really needs serious improvement. Some of the staff in the restaurant are way too loud when talking to each other, and some of them even gave out bad unwelcoming and nonchalant attitude/vibe to their customers. It was like they felt that they were doing us, their customers, a favour by serving us. Not good enough for a hotel of this standard, and some of those staff need to be retrained. The only exception was Rose (like the Rose wine) at the outdoor cafe whose smile, professionalism, and welcoming attitude/vibe were a joy to see. Kudos to her!👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿💐 Overall, we enjoyed our stay at The Westin, and we will definitely come back there when next we visit Cape Town.

Whilst being a business hotel due to its connection to the Cape Town Convention Center, the Westin delivers stunning views and a great location. That comes with excellent service , amenities, pool and spa services and a variety of restaurant dining options. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious, elevators, fast, floors secure. The concierge staff are personable and helpful with transportation and taxis as needed. The laundry service is quick and of excellent quality. A great place to stay downtown in Cape Town South Africa.

Outstanding hotel, from the food to the staff. Everyone is friendly and helpful. The service desk reponded to our requests immediately, and the complimentary breakfasts were incredible. I highly recommend this hotel. I stayed for 8 nights, I wish I could have stayed longer! I will be back!

I had a fantastic stay at the Westin Cape Town. First off, Ubers are very reasonable in the city. I'd estimate about a 20 minute ride from the airport to the hotel - $10, plus tip. I was given a genuinely warm greeting at the front desk. Normally, Marriott hotels thank you at check in for your loyalty. I got to my room and had a very nice box of treats waiting for me, along with a hand-written card (which I kept) thanking me for my loyalty. And I'm not even a top tier status. I recognized, besides the card, they planned my room ahead of time and had everything waiting for my arrival vs sending someone up after I checked in. I'd say this warm greeting at check-in and the welcome gift started out my stay in the right frame of mind. I had booked an Executive Room, which provided lounge access. I highly recommend this. Every night between 5-7pm, is happy hour. Each night, there was a different menu of appetizers listed. They were EXCELLENT in quality and quantity and they were constantly replenished. In addition, the wine was free-flowing. I saw different lounge staff each morning and afternoon and they were all unbelievably polite, friendly and outgoing. I was impressed. I did a breakfast buffet (included in my room) the first day - but thereafter did the lounge breakfast based on the friendliness of the staff and I liked the presentation of the items in a quieter atmosphere. Plus the lounge will prepare breakfast items off a menu, which I did on one of those days. It was excellent. As far as the room - I found it to be extremely modern. It appeared to be recently updated. I could not find a speck of dirt anywhere in the room. The bed was very comfortable - although the comforter was very thick and it I woke up hot, several times. There was good space to work, coffee-making facilities and bottled water. The bathroom was HUGE - a tub, sink area, and portioned off shower and toilet area. I liked the amenities were not the usual Westin white tea items - these were local and much better smelling. Once off the elevators on my floor, there were glass doors to access the rooms on that floor with a key card access. I've never seen this on individual floors before - but liked it as an extra security measure. The hotel is situated at the convention center. Not a tremendous amount to to in the immediate vicinity - but with Uber being so reasonable - a 10 minute drive was $4. I would absolutely stay here on my next trip!!!

Great Hotel! Solid location, and great people. Staff couldn’t be nicer! Everyone always has a smile on their face and says hi!! Rooms are nice and bright, and most of all new! Great comfortable heavenly beds, as well as great showers! Pool was nice! As well as the sauna and steam too ! Jacuzzi. Temp could have been hotter though. Executive lounge was lovely as well! Great options in the mornings and evenings with free beer and wine in the evenings. Only thing that was a disappointment was when we checked in we were told that the breakfast in the lounge was only cold. Continental.and if we wanted the hot one we would need to forgo out 1000 points we get for being a Bonvoy platinum member. Come to find out the lounge had hot items as well and we felt cheated out of our arrival gift. I emailed the hotel but no response which is a bit dishesrening.

Great location. Right from the get go a lovely gentleman named Armstrong greeted us with the biggest smile ever and helped us with our bags. All the valet and bell desk were extremely helpful and friendly. Jean Claude the gentleman at guest services were super efficient. Recommended the best steak restaurant called Iron steak House and spot on with his recommendations . Jason and naomi were lovely too and assisted with all my queries.

We hosted an international conference at the hotel and used it as our base. From inception to execution we were supported by some of the best hotel based Events, Venue and Food and Beverage persons we have encountered at the numerous venues we have worked with over the years. Tracey, Indira, Sherwin, Carlo and Randall who carted chairs from the various floors were exceptional. Our numerous requests were always given attention and the team was solution driven. Never an excuse as to why something could not be done. Restaurant staff were equally exceptional. Imagine sitting down for breakfast each morning and being greeted with the most friendly of smiles a good morning. Many of the guests felt at home in the hotel. Hotel facilities are good although the gym is a tad bit on the small side. Accommodation at the hotel was well priced and very comfortable.
