My husband and I had the unfortunate experience of staying in this sub-standard hotel for 3 nights. On the upside, the room was clean and relatively comfortable, and breakfast had a nice variety of food. On the downside, we had booked a king room and were given 2 double beds. Both the sink and tub were clogged for more than a day before being somewhat fixed - showering in a flooded tub for 2 days. Other than breakfast, the food was awful. Fish & chips with coating hard as cardboard and tasteless. Pizza soggy. Service at bar was slow and unfriendly. Card keys failed not once, but twice. Second occasion caused our entire group of 7 exhausted travelers to stand in line behind others checking in to have each card resolved (after a full day of touring), and during the mass confusion in the lobby my husband's backpack was stolen along with nearly $7K USD in items. Poor security - nobody paying attention to thieves that apparently often steal from hotel lobbies. No idea where the good reviews came from for this place, but even with the incidents aside, I could not give this place more than 2 stars.…
We stayed for 21 nights in December 2021 to January that was the festive holiday in 10th floor and it was supper busy ... what makes me unhappy is that we were on holiday so we request our room to be cleaned when we are downstairs for breakfast but when we came back it wasn't done ...fine it was busy we would just go out some times to the century city mall or in town for fun only to come back at 6 / 5 pm the room is not done .so every time we had to call the reception and let them know our room is not done . Yes it was festive season maybe some of the housekeeping workers did not come to work or they came drunk at work we do not know because it was almost every day of our 21 day stay . 2nd floor by the restaurant it seems as if All of them were new staff and did not know what to say when we ask questions ..ie we need to charge all our food to the room and pay once when we leave ( room charge ) they said they don't know what it is ...as we were staying longer we thought that was going to be easy for us the room was quite small for a deluxe .and we could not watch cricket in our room and we have to go downstairs to watch cricket they tried to fix it but it did not work ....thax to Luvo the waiter who put us in another conference room for a big screen..for us to watch cricket there . The TV in the rooms is way to much higher you will end up having a neck problem after 21 days There was two gentlemen who always stand by the main door Albert and the other one I forgot his name they were so helpful and full of information and knowledge of the place when we need to go out ....i guess if we had people like that in housekeeping they were going to make our stay enjoyable. Besides having all these trouble the food is so great I enjoyed breakfast wth the Rastafarian chef who made the omlet in a different way . Dinner and lunch was supper great. The restaurant is clean and the pool area love it.…
Nice room with best location, relaxing view, room is very clean with all basic in room amenities, reseanable price.Check in experience was too bad.We arrived with a group of 7pax including chamber President, CEO and other top VIPs,waiting more than 1፡30hours for check in process. The front office manger not cupture her name is so helpful, she resolved room issue professionally, Jayson, the bellperson and Vinisen from front desk arealso very hospitable.there is also no morning shoe and tooth brush and paste in the room.the rest is fine.
We stayed twice so that we could pick up and drop our car at Hertz across the street. Very friendly staff, nice clean room with good mountain view. We enjoyed the relaxing pool and the 17th floor gym. Very good value.
My wife booked one night over a weekend in January 2022. (We live 30 minutes away in the suburbs) We just wanted a base from which to explore the city nightlife. It was a record-breaking day as far as heat was concerned, so the swimming pool and air conditioning was super appreciated. The hotel is excellently situated within walking distance from Long/Loop/Bree streets, although the less-adventurous could probably Uber around, especially later at night. (We did not) Also Kloof area is a very short Uber away and although we did not do this, Sea point is not far away either. If public transport is more your thing, that is also a couple of minutes away. As for the rating of 4, the reasons are as follows. 1.) Air conditioning was not working when we got there. (NOTE: It was immediately fixed after calling reception.) 2.) No Hair Dryer. (Note: Also immediately replaced after phoning reception) 3.) The elevator sometimes takes a little long. I think probably could just be reprogrammed. Many times you would stop at an empty (or multiple empty) lobbies. All staff that we interacted with were super helpful. A very important aspect for me in any stay is cleanliness and here the hotel performed superbly. All of the listed were REALLY MINOR inconveniences and I would 100% still recommend the hotel to family and friends.…
