I stayed at Zest recently on a business trip. I travel to Cape Town frequently and wanted to try a new place and experience a new neighborhood. Zest had a special offer (three nights for the price of two) so it was very affordable. Check-in went smoothly and the receptionist was a great help to me when I discovered that I had left my bag in the Uber that had just dropped me off. She kept me calm and helped me to contact the driver who immediately returned with the bag, the angel that he was. She offered me a cold drink and showed me to my room, making sure I understood where everything was. I had a Deluxe Room on the second floor. The room is not huge but it is comfortable. Not that while the toilet is separated from the room by a door, the sink and the shower are in the main room which is a bit unusual. As I was on my own, I did not find this to be a problem. The bed was big and comfortable. There is also a desk where you can comfortably work and the wireless internet generally met my needs. There were little treats on my pillow every night and there is also tea and a pod coffee maker in the room, all nice touches. I liked that the toiletries provided were in large bottles (and not single use) minimizing waste and that there is a bucket in the shower that you can use to collect water - the housekeepers use it for cleaning. The breakfast is nice with a small buffet and a list of five or six hot items that you can order. I also loved the fact that there is tea/coffee and cake available in the afternoon. There is a lovely pool but it is not heated so don't count on using it in the winter months. There is also a gas fire place outside and the staff will turn it on for you so you can sit outside and enjoy your cake. I also enjoyed the view of Cape Town from the rooftop deck. The hotel is just one street off the main drag in Greenpoint so it is relatively quiet but it is a very quick walk to lots of shops and restaurants (including Bootlegger Coffee, Giovannis, and Jason Bakery, all of which are worth a visit). It is also right across the street from an interesting cafe/coffee shop called The Strangers Club that is in an old house and features a number of interesting shops. I enjoyed my stay at Zest and all of the personal attention from their friendly staff.…
the rooms were nice, but we had issue after issue, firstly we paid for an airport pick up which did not happen, one of our rooms tv's did not work for 3 of the 4 days that we stayed there. In fact it stayed on, would not change channels and would not switch off, so we had to sleep with it on all night. we brought it to their attention every single day and it was only fixed on our last day. On day we came back to the hotel at 14h30 and our rooms were not even made up. Lovely staff, but not a good impression overall.
We loved our stay at Zest Boutique Hotel. The hotel was quiet, beautifully decorated, and well located. It was close to everything we wanted to see, but still on a nice, quiet street removed enough to be peaceful. We ate breakfast there each morning and enjoyed the continental option as well as the omelettes. We didn’t get to spend as much time on the roof and in the back outdoor garden as we would have liked, but the entire property was beautiful. All of the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. We have no complaints!
We stayed 5 nights at the Zest and couldn't have been more pleased. The decor is fresh, clean and stylish. The breakfasts were generous including a buffet and hot entree made to order. Afternoon tea is offered with an original cake each day. An unexpected pleasure. A spacious rooftop viewing area is a bonus where we enjoyed the sunsets. It was too chilly to use the pool but we enjoyed the patio area with fireplace. Most importantly, all the staff were extra sweet and helpful. We will remember this venue as one of our favorites.
I guess, I have never been to a better hotel than the zest boutique Hotel. We loved our stay. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The room has everything you need and was clean. The hotel is really beautiful itself with a great rooftop and a cute garden with pool. We loved the breakfast and there are great vegan options. Also the location was good. I can 100% recommend a stay at the zest boutique Hotel!
