About

#6 of 8 campgrounds in Palmer
Our campground, located at Mile 37.4 of the Glenn Highway, just south of Palmer and about 1.5 miles east of the Parks & Glenn Hwy interchange, offers a family oriented, primitive camping experience. Being situated on two lakes, Kepler and Bradley, you will find a serene setting for camping, picnicking, boating and excellent trout fishing. The lakes are stocked annually by the State of Alaska Department of Fish & Game. For those interested in hiking, we provide walk-in access only to the Matanuska Greenbelt Trail System. Come visit for the day or camp overnight and enjoy a great time of recreation and relaxation. Centrally located in the Matanuska Valley, Kepler Park allows you to experience the "great outdoors" but is also just a short distance from other attractions and conveniences.

I highly recommend this camp ground/park.... the lakes/camp sites are clean and the staff are friendly/helpful. The fishing is amazing rainbow & cutthroat trout are in abundance. They have it all there to rent- boats tackle & bait.... we give it a 10!

We decided to rent a "motor boat" to go out onto the lake for a couple of hours. I probably could have paddled faster than the motor went, but that was absolutely fine. There was no rush. Going out with the family to see the beautiful scenery and have a picnic lunch was an amazing way to spend a couple of hours. And, the guys who ran the place couldn't have been nicer. They lent us a fishing pole and even gave us shrimp to use as bait. We came up empty, but I think that was more on us than due to the fish. If you are looking for a relaxing day with beautiful scenery while supporting wonderful people, look no further!

Front desk friendly and helpful. Great views, it was our 1st time camping in a tent since we've moved to Alaska from Texas. They answered 1,000 basic questions. The site was clean and convenient. Family friendly, saw a few dogs. Will come again next season.

My husband and I brought our daughter to Kepler park when she was about 3 and that was 25 years ago. Today we brought her and her 2-1/2 year old son! What a delightful day. Rod rented a boat and they went fishing; Ethan caught his first little trout! I sat at the park and watched kids play in the water. There was so much laughter and family fun. People were outside enjoying the day. It's such a peaceful, non-threatening place. Staff is friendly and prices are right.
