We did our own booking on line, The Kuru club has a 4 star rating. I don't know how they got 4 stars. We thought our deal included breakfast, however it did not. The manager Charles is a nice guy and was really helpful which we were thankful for. He met us at the airport with leis, and drove us through the town centre before taking us to hotel. The accommodation was more 2 star then 4, our room wasn't serviced at all during our 4 night stay, there was no wifi. The room have had water damage, the floor a the back door was lifting, couldn't open the back door, the tiles in bathroom lifting and swollen from water damage, the roof was terribly rusted, no spouting, grout or no gap filler coming out of bathroom. Our ranch slider door needed new rollers, very hard to open. Kitchen outside on a deck had only a huge bbq or electric fry pan for cooking, no elements, but you could boil eggs in the kettle if you used your imagination. The pool was nice, but the 3 plastic deck chairs looked like they'd never been cleaned. The rubbish bin smelled so bad when you opened it, it was full and not emptied. The hotel quite isolated, the nearest amenities a 15min walk to cafe and bar down the road.…
We checked this place out as we had previously booked to stay but read the reviews and luckily changed our minds . There's no way we would have stayed here very run down don't do it you'll be so disappointed. Miles from town and yuk. Only good points were the pool and nice manager
Great staff, easy going, always pleased to help.Good communal kitchen, with all the facilities, including a large fridge. Fun fishing off the jetty, good pool. Handy location, close to airport, and our favourite restaurant, "The Boatshed"!!
Yes, the place is within walking distance of the airport. But it's very far away from anything without your own transport. As there is no food available, this makes this place rather inconvenient if don't have your own transport. My room was advertised as "king suite". Well it was a ordinary double an a rather one at that. The manager Rupe is very nice and accommodating but the place is disappointing.
Our family of 5 plus grandparents spent 4 nights in Kuru Club, Aitutaki. We booked 3 rooms and asked for interconnecting ones, 2 of the rooms were interconnecting with the 3rd being a room away, just as we wanted. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and had everything we needed. Of course there’s ants and insects around which is what you expect in a tropical islands. Our children enjoyed the pool and basically had it all to themselves during our stay there. The pool is next to an outdoor kitchen area. This came in very handy for breakfast and preparing other meals when we decided to not eat out. Rupee, the manager picked us up from the airport and was very helpful with advice and information. On our last morning he then dropped us off at the airport. Kuru Club is very close to the airport and you do hear the planes coming in and taking off but the disturbance is minimal. They also have electric car for guest to rent which is very handy since you need one to explore the island and there are 7 of you. We had a lovely and relaxing stay at Kuru Club, thank you.…
Very basic, casual accomodation where the staff Rupe & Helen bent over backwards for you. However what is advertised online falls short of what is actually provided, the place is in need of some maintenance and more information on what is located around you is needed (ie you can’t swim outside the hotel - very muddy). Comfortable place to stay but steep price for what it is.
Well before I start my review , I would like to thank the staff that were present during our stay they looked after us like family The accomodation is located very close to Oothu which is one of the best areas on the island in our eyes , you will need to organise transport as the kuru advertised that they had transport but at the time there wasn’t any available or broken down not sure , it is very isolated so unless you like walking organise transport, the lagoon is beautiful to look at but not swimmable . Watch out for the resident crabs 🦀 who are quite large and like to scare you and pinch things off your balcony the pool is great . The rooms are good . The manager was not present during our stay and really needs to back up his website as it is a bit deceiving but hay you are on a tropical island in the middle of the pacific surrounded by beautiful people and beautiful surroundings and we enjoyed our stay And would do it all Again Kia Orana …
lovely new accommodation with all facilities near the airport for a handy pick up. We were well looked after by the team who sorted our scooter hire and gave us local advice. Highly recommended. Lovely pier with views over the picturesque lagoon.
We found all of the staff at Kuru Club friendly and accomodating to our needs, from Rupe going out of his way to offer us lifts to the gardener getting us fresh coconuts to drink each day. They truly made our stay that much more enjoyable and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were very clean and beds comfortable. We stayed for 5 nights and the beginning of the trip was quite windy, so when we weren't out sightseeing we spent time relaxing and swimming in the pool area which was protected from the wind. It was crystal clear and cleaned daily and the view was absolutely stunning. The bbq area was a great place to spend the afternoon with a drink in hand and nibbles watching the sunset.
Kuru club was the perfect accomodation for our family, great affordable price , allowed children under 5 and the staff , and manager were excellent. They were helpful and accomodating making sure that our family were well looked after. The location is isolated however is close to the best swimming beach on the main island a quick 2min drive with the electric car provided by the resort. Will definitely be back.
