Hotel's Favorite
We stayed one night here, and had a room on the top floor overlooking the soccer stadium. Fantastic views, decent room albeit on the small side. Bathroom light switches and layout were a bit funky and took a bit to figure out. Front desk experience was just average. I expected the staff to be much more knowledgeable about the need for COVID-19 testing for US customers, and to already have a clear process in place for guests, but was disappointed. One of the bellhops (Marvin, if I remember correctly) came to our rescue. He found out the details, location, etc., and pointed us in the right direction. Was easy to Uber into downtown for museum visits and dinner. Breakfast was awesome. Lots of choices in the buffet, omelettes and pancakes and such cooked to order, lots of fresh juices and so on. Breakfast was the highlight for us at this hotel. There was also a nice indoor pool area, and while we quickly checked it out, didn't have enough time to actually get in the pool or the hot tub. And before I forget, a couple of times when I called the front desk too, no one picked up. So overall, front desk staff have plenty of scope for improvement. All other staff including bell hops and breakfast waiters were top notch.…

Walking distance to restaurants but not much to do in the area, they do have pools and gym and restaurant and bar in the hotel, good area of town, most people stay here for tours to other areas, I would stay here again

The room is great - very clean perfect view, comfortable beds, coffee, refrigerator, and nice bathroom. Staff was pleasant and there is a restaurant on site. We were able to get a taxi easily. Negatives were wifi didn't work, there were no directions on how to operate the safe and the coffeemaker, and there was no brochure telling you about the hotel, and local restaurants. Would have been helpful to have these things.

Nice location though not the city center, highly recommendable if you like to walk. Reception team very rude and unhelpful. Room was clean and bed was cozy. Sport area is quite ok though not the best equipped.

We had a great stay at the Hilton Gardens. The room was comfortable and very clean. The air conditioning was a little loud but it didn’t disturb our sleep on the extremely comfortable king size bed. The staff was friendly and gracious, and found the sweater I had left behind in the dining room. Breakfast had a nice variety of choices.

This is a lovely, modern hotel with all the facilities you would expect. What makes it special is its location at the side of the beuutiful La Sabana park and about a 30 minute walk to downtown. OK the second part of the walk is next to a 4 lane highway but it is worth it. The buffet breakfast was excellent and the staff so helpful.

We spent one night here before flying out the next day to Tortuguero. The room was very clean and modern although a bit on the small side. A bit more space and an extra chair would have made it more comfortable. We were on the 16th floor and overlooked the futbal stadium. Awesome views. We had dinner there and it was fine. Our only complaint would be that the servers were slow and not terribly well organized. Breakfast seemed to be the same way…breakfast was good…a nice variety of offerings.

Great location right next to the National Stadium and La Sabana Park. Plenty of restaurants and bars nearby as well. Our room was modern, clean and comfortable. Front desk staff not very welcoming or helpful. Our room was not ready for check in at 3p and we were told to check back shortly which I realize can happen sometimes. However when we returned at 4p and the room still “wasn’t ready” with very little regard for our wait, I became frustrated. After voicing my displeasure, a room was suddenly available which was really poor form on the part of the front desk. Not sure if this was the result of us being visiting fans for the soccer match that night or if they are just incompetent. I won’t stay here again despite all the other nice aspects of the hotel.

A well run Hilton hotel, but the service at the reception was a bit slow. The staff was friendly and helpful. Good location. Seemed like a safe neighborhood. A number of decent restaurants within easy walking distance. Breakfast was good. The only issue I had was with extended checkout - we went there as part of a tour group - the tour group manager arranged for a 2pm checkout (we had an evening flight) - I reconfirmed that at the reception the night before, but on the day of the departure was told that they only offer extended checkout till 1pm.
