Somehow friendly stuff in very disgusting bugs all over the room. Breakfast was good and friendly bartenders at the bar at evening. Will serve you good drinks. Burger was alright. Hotel's Favorite
Always a good experience staying at the Radisson San Jose Costa Rica. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The hotel is always clean and the atmosphere is always calm. The breakfast buffet is always yummy and we can even order a la carte. The rooms are spacious and very clean. It is always nice to feel like we're in our second home when we stay here because the people make us feel like we are home.

Beautiful hotel, super staff, clean, lovely courtyard. Great buffet breakfast, can eat inside or in courtyard. Food from lobby bar also delicious. Bar was closing but kindly made us food when we arrived.

The location was safe. Staff was friendly. The room was clean with a great view. The included breakfast was hot with lots of choices. We only stayed one night but we would stay here again. Great value for a very good price. Parking was underground and easily accessible.

Everyone I encountered at the front desk spoke English. I stayed there two nights a couple weeks apart. The first time I was one floor up on the backside of the hotel, resulting in a quiet experience after a neighboring room turned off their TV. The second night I was just down the hallway from the lobby; this was much noisier as people walked down the corridor laughing and talking loudly late at night (there is no carpeting to deaden the sound). If you want a quiet stay insist on being assigned a tranquil section of the hotel. Some English channels could be found on the TV; I watched a recent Jurassic Park movie. The free breakfast buffet was the most extensive I encountered in the country - very tasty and satisfying. The pool area was nicely designed and inviting.

I was completely surprised by the architecture and small touches everywhere. This is the best Radisson I’ve ever seen, and one of the top chain hotels I’ve stayed at in my 30+ years of traveling. I would stay here again, but recommend upgrading the room. Our standard room had a bit of a musty smell, but it was probably the carpet. The desk person did say the other rooms had updated carpet and such.

We found the hotel disappointing. The building is a large concrete structure without much "curb" appeal. It's a 20 minute walk into the city via a busy road, probably best to take a taxi in the evening. The first room we were given had that damp musty smell (we I have now seen mentioned in other reviews going back to 2021) and you couldn't stay in it. To be fair reception were very helpful and moved us immediately, (good job the hotel wasn't full) into a similar room but not with the bed arrangement we requested. The pool is so cold it's not really usable in February and the sun beds old and uncomfortable, there is no pool service and the toilets are closed! I must say the staff are all fantastic, really helpful and friendly, the bar is comfortable and drinks and food good value. The hotel has everything it needs to give it the 4* rating, however it's generally looking "tired" and in need of some investment, not somewhere I would stay again.…

Pros Room was large with 2 big double beds. Friendly staff Good shower Nice pool area and grounds Few blocks to Barrio Amon area OK breakfast was included Room safe and hair dryer provided in room Cons No fridge in room and ice machine on third floor didn’t work. Bottles of water were not replaced each day. Pool was cold, not heated. Immediate area around hotel was not attractive and seemed more like an industrial estate.

An overall impression of a hotel that’s getting old. It strangely feels that différent parts of the hotel don’t belong together. The bar is on a different level to the pool which really isn’t convenient. The barman even thought it was strange that we wanted a drink by the pool! The hotel remains cold and the concrete doesn’t warm the atmosphere. Room dated but functional. No real problem with staff a part from a sultry barman. The young lady at the service desk was very helpful. Would we choose this hotel again? No, sorry. It’s out of date and there’s frankly better.

Location-we were happy with the location, we could walk into town if we wanted or take a short Uber ride to wherever we wanted to go. We didn’t find any immediately walkable points of interest super close to the hotel, but this worked fine for us. The hotel room was spacious and clean. Wifi throughout the hotel. The outside garden and pool area is lovely, beautiful flowers, plants, birds, and other wildlife. Very friendly and professional service. Very good included breakfast. Food at the bar was good. I really really appreciated the easy willingness to exchange my bills for smaller ones at the hotel check in desk. If we returned to San Jose, we’d be happy to stay here again. If I had to offer a critique, it would be the acoustics in the lobby, and the open bar area-the sound really echos and carries throughout, making it challenging to hear your own parties conversation.…
