We took a group of 16 plus a driver and guide here for two nights in January. Upon arrival there was no one at the front desk, but the restaurant staff jumped in to help. There was a bit of confusion about our rooms, which may have been our failure to clearly articulate our needs. In any event the owner was wonderful about adjusting our room assignments to fit our needs. The rooms are small but entirely met our needs. The breakfast was off a menu: eggs and meat; pancakes; or traditional Costa Rican fare. The restaurant also offered lunch and dinner as well as a full bar. The food was quite good, especially the pizzas. A very good value and wonderful staff.
Hotel is located on the hill (La Colina) near Quepos. Easily accessible parking, delicious free breakfast and the restaurant. Great live music. WiFi access is not the best but it works. Rooms could have better lights and better AC but...what is more important for me is the friendly staff and the views of the area from the top floor. Absolutely gorgeous! Also, hotel is surrounded by the jungle and there is a lot to see...You just need to be prepared to climb to the top floor :) I highly recommend this hotel!
Near manuel antonio, graet view. However, too many stairs for senior coupe like us. Breakfast was a bit spartan and the shower even less. Team was very friendly. Access to public is a bit risky since no road shoulders no sidewalk. I wish they can improve because there is great potential here
I spent two days at this amazing hotel located justo a few miles from Pereria. It is not only surrounded by nature, as it's owners are triggered to preserve and enhance the native forest, you can take a 15 minutes walk inmerse in beautiful native trees up to a terrace where you get an astonishing view. You can also get relaxed taking sometime at the Spa and it's diverse massages, as well as you can go into the humid zones. Food is amazing. The most remarkable thing is it's people and service. If you come to Pereira, don't hesitate twice spending your time here. No regrets, absolutely worth it.
My friend and I had a great time there. We searched for an option that was near Pereira but also was calmed and relaxing. It’s about 20 minutes from the city center and very easy to arrive. The staff was kind and aware if anytjing was needed. This hybrid proposal between a spa and a hotel, at least for us, was just what we wanted since it has a great view and very comfortable rooms. Food was also delicious.
Its an amazing, peacefull and relaxing place to visit with your couple, the location is beautiful and has an incredible landscape. You can find different environments to get relax. You should not go out, because you find everything inside the room. One thing that I loved was the food... all that I tried was delicious... the chef is very skilled. Another thing that I appreciated was the service of the employees, they were very kind. If you want a place to chill out, eat delicious and enjoy the view you have to visit this amazing place.
Thank you for the great memory! It is obvious that the hotel has studied very well the experience of their guests, excellent service and a great experience. If you are looking for a beautiful and romantic experience, this is the place to visit. All my whims were fulfilled.
I took advantage of some cheap flights to CR last month and wanted a place relatively close to the beach (1 hour's walk) and no frills basic. The previous review hit every negative point straight on and is 100% correct. I've been gone from the hotel for a week now and still my back and neck are out of whack due to the worst mattresses I have ever slept on in my life. How expensive would it cost the hotel to replace them with even something cheap? Not much. they need alot of improvement.
The good: - good view if you are in rooms 9,10,11 - spacious rooms - ok breakfast The bad: - very noisy at night. Parties from rooms, nearby bars, dogs barking, road cars. Parties lasted up to 2 am sometimes. - very old uncomfortable mattresses. You can feel all springs. Worst mattress I've slept in my life. - no shades, so too much light in room when sun rises - no 3-pin outlet in room to charge laptops. All other Costa Rica hotels have them. They don't even provide adapter. - too many stairs to climb with suitcases. - run down pool
Extremely unprofessional, they lied to me and took my money. 2 days ago I called Hotel Colina, asking if I could be refunded if I cancel. Their response was that if you cancel soon yes, but if it gets too soon to the reservation, we can't. I said I'd call back later that day, and the receptionist said they'd be waiting for that call. They didn't respond... to my 5 phone calls. Next, I got a friend from Costa Rica to talk to them and request the cancellation. They said they would refund me the next day. They didn't. Today, finally, we get in contact again, and the hotel said sorry, we can't refund you because the cancellation occurred within 2 weeks of your reservation. Our lodging is now cancelled because we were told several times that we would get refunded, but we didn't get any of that refund- leaving us with no accommodations and money taken from us. I usually hate to leave bad reviews, but when traveling on a budget, I trust the integrity of a hotel to at least understand and communicate their policy. Instead of immediately telling me that I can't be refunded, they lied about the refund, causing me to spend more by booking another space and paying 50% of my reservation.…
