I had a very similar experience to another person that has posted. I also booked direct and the hotel charged me four times for the same booking for me and my wife’s honeymoon, it wasn’t until after we stayed and spoke to the manager direct that they processed our refund (three weeks after we had left). The communication from the management is awful and when we were eventually refunded they charged us a 7% admin fee on each refund. This combined equated to hundreds of pounds that to date they have still not reimbursed me for even though it was their mistake! Countless emails, no response! There are better hotels out there that treat customers with more respect and don’t rip them off!

I strongly advise against staying at this hotel! I have had a very bad experience and I can share that it is a scam. I made a reservation directly through the hotel website, confirmed the payment by credit card, but never received a booking confirmation. Of course, I immediately contacted the hotel by email with the request to confirm my booking and documented my payment with a screenshot of the credit card charge. I was told several times by the hotel that there was no reservation in my name and that no payment had been received. For this reason, I requested the reversal of the payment through my credit card company, as this payment was apparently not visible at the hotel. This was also done. Then I booked my stay in this hotel again. This time everything worked perfectly. After my stay at the Namu Hotel, my credit card company contacted me and informed me that the Namu Hotel had not approved the refund I had already received and debited the entire amount from my credit card again. After that, I tried to get in touch with the hotel manager, Mr. Douglas Vasquez Gonzales, and explained the whole matter in detail and presented it with screenshots. I paid for my stay, but I don't see why I was charged twice. Now, Namu Hotel is blocking the proper repayment of the amount, although it was previously claimed that the hotel never received this payment. Unfortunately, Mr. Gonzales did not respond to any of my mails. Thus, in this case, I have to assume a deliberate fraud!

HORRIBLE HOTEL AND MANAGEMENT Do not stay here!!! If if could rate this hotel 0 stars I would. Very unprofessional and rude. They only care about your money. They will not respond to you. They lie and promise to resolve the issue and they never do. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this rude, very poor service.

Namu Hotel Garden Spa provides a luxury resort experience in the heart of Puerto Viejo. Built in July 2023, the hotel is a new and undiscovered slice of paradise. The grounds are beautiful, the master suites are spacious and elegantly designed, and the bungalows have private splash pools and amazing garden tubs. But what takes Namu to the next level is its restaurant, Num. Chef Rosis is hands down the best Chef in Costa Rica. I can’t say enough good things about Namu. We can’t wait to come back. Pura Vida

Best kept secret in Puerto Viejo. An oasis of tranquility 5 minutes walking distance from the beach. The whole hotel is modern, clean and feels very luxurious. The staff were just wonderful and the food was delicious. Shout out to the lovely waitress who served us throughout with such warmth. The most perfect stay, we did not want to leave!

Let's keep it simple - FACTS: Very Clean. Everything is new and they are up to date on technology. Bathrooms are clean and in great condition - (you must put paper in trash - that's all of Costa Rica). Pools perfect Adults only Restaurant/Food - AMAZING - Their food is top of the line perfect. Healthy, clean, fresh, and delicious. I mean their breakfast (included) was THE BEST. Not like the other places where it's a buffet. They have multiple choices for dishes. Their lunch/dinner menu was superb. EXCELLENT food. Their chefs are above and beyond. They also have a great selection of wine and alcohol. I recommend Zacapa XO Rum. I almost finished their bottle. I kept eating the Colorada salad and Atun Rojo - to die for. Their staff were exceptional. I got to give a shot out to Douglas (manager), Jeremy (server), Jhosimar (host), Daniel (master server), and last but not lest David (Team Leader). Everyone was amazing. They all went out of their way to help all guests. I see them helping everyone with everything. However, a special shot out to David. He really went above and beyond. His professionalism and language skills made me feel heard and cared for in my situations there. He is very tactful and kind. He truly makes you feel like you're the most important person there. If you ever feel things are getting tough, talk to David. He will find a way to help. David is a true gentleman and a business professional. If you have further questions, send me a message. I will be going back to this hotel and booking it with all my friends and family. Hey, Douglass I need a big discount when I take all four suites or all your bungalows.

Let’s start with the good: the grounds are beautiful, the pool is nice, the restaurant on site is delicious (although expensive), the complimentary breakfast was made to order and really good. Restaurant staff were the nicest of all the staff. Now for the not so good: first, the mats next to the beds feel like stepping on a coral reef. Maybe it’s just personal preference but waking up first thing in the morning and stepping on what feels like sharp rocks is not how my fiance and I wanted to start our mornings. The first morning we were woken up at 8:30 (on vacation, at a spa that is supposed to be conducive to relaxation) by the cleaning staff aggressively dragging heavy wooden furniture across the cement floor of the room above us. Even with earplugs it was impossible to ignore. Most upsettingly, it rained termite poop on us ALL NIGHT LONG. When we got into bed the first night, there was poop in every single layer of the sheets. Since it was late, we wiped it off and went to sleep, only to find more feces in the bed when we awoke in the morning. Upon bringing it to the managers attention, he said they would look into it, but didn’t offer any compensation or support to us for having slept in literal feces all night. When we asked, he offered 10% off our stay, barely enough to cover taxes. After we vacated the room for an hour and they supposedly fixed it, we returned to find more termite poop on the bed. When bringing it to the staffs attention AGAIN, they finally apologized for the first time in the whole ordeal and after much back and forth, they said the best they could do was refund us 50% of the previous nights dinner (about $60). We went to Namu to celebrate our engagement and nothing ruins the romance quite like animal feces in the bed. If you are assigned room M4, CHECK FOR TERMITES.

The hotel is quite nice and location really good. So we would definitely come back. I believe everyone should provide a customer service as warm and genuine as Jazmin does, that is the improvement I see here. A warmer and more welcoming customer care. Jazmin does an excellent job and is very caring about the guests that is what I would expect to see in all hotel areas. Other than that loved the stay.

Best Botique hotel experience in the Limon region —-just book it, you will not be sorry! I could write a novel about our awesome stay. We (me, husband, parents) were marooned in Limon when we arrived on a Saturday evening and found out our other hotel unexpectedly cancelled our booking with no notice. We found a place for our first night (Olinca Botique, also awesome) and the next morning I called Namu hoping that we could book two bungalows for the week….. at the last minute. Enter Jhosemar, the savior of our family vacation, he was super responsive and got us hooked up for the week. In short — the property is absolutely beautiful and the experience well worth the price, just book it :) The resort is secluded enough that you experience the beautiful ecology and peaceful nature of the area, but close enough to town that it’s easy to walk off grounds, up the road to hit the beach or any of the incredible shops and cafes in Puerto Viejo. Loved the pool and spa, the restaurant and staff are great, breakfasts were fabulous every morning, and the bar staff knows how to make killer cocktails. There are plenty of quiet places throughout the resort to read a book, meditate, or just relax! The bungalows are out of this world. Most comfortable bed we’ve slept on while on vacation and we enjoyed cooling off in the private pool. We’re birders / nature nerds and can attest that the wildlife watching on the grounds is *chefs kiss*. Kiskadees, wood rails, chacalacaa, toucans, montezuma orenpendolas, many hummingbirds, doves, antbirds, euphonias, parakeets, tanagers, anis, I could go on. Beautiful plants around the property! We heard some howler monkeys in the woods behind the resort, heard/spotted multiple species of tree frogs/toads, and watched resident acoutis scurry about the property. Alex, Anferni, Jhosimar, Nashary and everyone on staff made our stay so perfect, from arranging transport to national parks and conservation areas, to making recommendations for other places to explore (Alex really knows his birds!!), to finding us a shuttle to SJO after our return flight from Limon to SJO was cancelled, to making us feel at home away from home for the week. Thank you Namu for saving what turned out to be a wonderful family vacation.

This is now and by far my favourite relaxing spot after difficult weeks. The ambience is exquisite. The rooms are so beautiful and full of details. The private Bungalows are amazing but so are the regular rooms and suites. To top it up, after trying most of the Menu by now, the food is delicious and the service is marvellous. I love this place. Highly recommend it! Enjoy
