Cahuita is a very small town, about six blocks. It is on the Caribbean coast with two beaches one black sand and one white sand. It is a rustic, tropical and wonderful place. For us, this was a paradise. The Coral Hill Bungalows are absolutely beautiful. The cabins themselves are spacious, ultra clean, comfortable and a perfect getaway. You have your own porch with rocking chairs and a hammock and are surrounded by some of the most beautiful tropical forest atmosphere you can imagine. You will hear and see birds, sloths, monkeys, dazzlingly painted frogs and all manner of wee mammals that will delight you with their antics. Your hosts, Joe and Chris, provide an absolutely fantastic breakfast that only begins to show you how much care and thought they put into every detail. They…

After arriving at Coral Hill Bungalows, during our travels I looked around at other lodging establishments I had considered and was pleased that we had decided to stay at Coral Hill Bungalows. The compound is surrounded by a gated tall wood fence and Joe, the owner, has a German Shepherd with a big bark, so we felt very secure. The bungalows are extremely clean and well maintained, as is the yard. Although not air conditioned, there is a breeze and plenty of windows plus a ceiling fan so the bungalow was always comfortable. The yard may be considered "landscaped jungle" complete with monkeys, sloths, and many birds. Breakfast was very well presented, different every day, and made from local fresh fruits, vegetables, and breads. The breakfast was outstanding overall and gave…

We really appreciated our stay. The staff was very kind and helpful. They helped us to order one birdwatching tour early in the morning. Also a zip-line tour, which was very exciting. The room was big, and very good. You really felt welcome. The only thing is that the breafast could have had some more options. Anyhow, we really recommend this hotel.

The stay exceeded all expectations, from Breakfast to Accommodations everything was amazing. The owners were friendly and nice, assisted with local attraction information, and made us feel most welcome. The Bungalows had all of the needed amenities from a safe and hairdrier to Hammock and candles. Would definitely stay at this place again.

Coral Hill Bungalows was a lovely retreat away from the bustle of San Jose. The location was very convenient to lots of activities, including lounging on the beach, but also horseback riding, a couple of national parks, and a couple of animal refuges. Everything was clean and the hosts did a great job of accommodating us. Breakfast was fresh and tasty and our room had all the modern amenities one could need. We especially enjoyed feeling as if we were sleeping in the jungle, but those who are particularly sensitive to noise may be disturbed at night. We had our white noise machine with us, which my partner cannot sleep without in any setting, and we were fine, even through a downpour on our last night.

We had a great time at Coral Hill bungalows. Everything is perfekt in detail! Very beautiful and large bungalows, very clean, amazing breakfast and organization! Directly in the nature, a sloth chilled in the tree over our bungalow. But very close to the ocean and great restaurants/bars!

Our stay at Coral Hill was a high point of our trip. Chris and Joe went out of their way to make us comfortable. They were incredibly helpful and friendly from helping identify the flora and fauna for us to arranging taxis, to going the extra mile to accommodate schedules and helping us find bikes to bomb around on. The breakfasts were unbelieveable. You'd be hard pressed to find something comparable in North America. Beautifully presented fresh fruit and juices, breads and spreads, egg dishes and pancakes and great coffee to start everyday of activities. Joe and Chris are an interesting couple that seem to genuinely enjoy what they do. They take pride in their absolutely gorgeous property. We would definitely return or recommend friends or family stay at this oasis. Gwen and…

Doesn't get any better, amazing brekkie, very clean and tidy area, the bungalows are super cozy and comfortable. Would love to return and stay at Coral Hill again in the future. They have a great garden where we spotted sloths, monkeys with more.

I was seated in the lap of luxury for two nights at Coral Hill Bungalows. The grounds were beautiful and housed many species of animals that made it feel less like you were in a residential type area and more like you were in the rainforest. The room was the cleanest of all the places I stayed in Costa Rica, with attention to detail that made me feel like I was getting a decent deal. Finally, the breakfast both mornings was a great way to start the day. Although I do think the $135/night (normal price I believe) is a bit high, you do get a very nice stay. My only complaint is that workers began work early each morning on the grounds. I understand that this is hard to control, but I can't say it didn't slightly detract from my experience. All in all, a great stay!

You don't get better than this. Stayed here for 2 nights having driven from San Jose. The hosts Joe and Chris are excellent and they really have created a special place here. 2 min walk to the beach which is great for swimming. Breakfast is wonderful also. Overall worth every penny. Many thanks
