The last km to the lodge was quite a bumby road- nothing unusual in Costa Rica. The lodge is a few km away from the beach, the restaurant and the town center. You therefore absolutely need a car. The bungalows are spacious, very clean, have an own outdoor kitchen and are located in a wonderful garden. Howler monkeys woke us up in the morning- just amazing. The breakfast (10dollars) was prepared with love and was the best we had during our 4-weeks trip around Costa Rica. Fresh fruit juices, pancakes, eggs, delicious bread from a french bakery around... We recommend a stay there.

Passion fruit eco lodge is really highly recommended! This location is breathtaking: in the middle of nature, a beautiful pool, pentaque grounds and so much more.... The hosts welcomed us with lots of love: welcome drinks and snacks. The breakfast was very well taken care of and extensive such as eggs, fresh bread,... Besides their hospitality, they took us to the most beautiful sunrise in Costa Rica. What an experience! Very nice rooms with clean bathrooms. In addition to the homely atmosphere, there is also a very cozy bar where you can barbecue. A real paradise on earth! Dear Delphine, Bert and Stitch, thank you for the wonderful vacation!

Very nice stay at the Pura Vida PFEL. A hearty welcome by the manageress Delphine Decru (double D) with a nice cocktail Cuba Libre style. The rooms were spick and span, splendid! Very soft bed. No AC but this is absolutely unnecessary. Rooms are open but mosquito free and there is a nice cool breeze at night. Very refreshing pool and jacuzzi. Possibility to trow a Costa Rican barbecue with friends at the honesty bar. Everything according to the COVID-19 guidelines, very safe! The breakfast is absolutely stunning and Burt, the manager, gives you free rides to the Cahuita national park, the beach and local restaurants and bars. If you're int the neighbourhood (read Costa Rica), it is definitely worth it to stop here.

Passion Fruit is operating on a different level, this place feels like a hidden gem that no one on the Caribbean side is talking about. We were privileged to be the first guests of new owners Bert & Del, they immediately greeted us with warmth and made us feel right at home. The property feels like it should be inside the National Park, just right down the road. The lodges are all separated by beautiful fruit trees, with chirps from the birds and howls from the monkeys orchestrating your stay. Lastly, I can’t stress this enough, pay the $10 each morning for the homemade breakfast, this is the best deal in Cahuita. You’re greeted with a smile and excitement as you sit down, then you’re immediately fed a buffet of fresh fruit, coffee, fruit smoothie, yogurt & granola, eggs, homemade cookies, fresh bread from the local French bakery, and if you’re lucky plantains or whatever new breakfast idea they are trying. On our final day they made it a special point to bring us croissants from the bakery to thank us for our stay. I can not more highly recommend coming here as a couple, as family, for business, or just a solo escape. You’ll be treated as family and I promise you’ll have a hard time leaving!

My husband and I totally loved our 10 day stay! We rented the Maracuya cabana which is nicely tucked close to the jungle, yet a few steps from the refreshing pool. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, full of lush tropical plants and flowers. The cabana is well equipped and nicely designed with local wood. Owners Karine and Philippe are very friendly and hospitable! We personally enjoyed the distance from the ocean as it offered a better seclusion in nature. Although Cahuita is a 10mn drive away, we preferred driving further past Puerto Viejo (1/2h drive) for better dinning options. I totally recommend this lodge to all nature lovers!

We loved ever second of our stay. The owners went out of their ways to help our kids have a great time. A real friendship developed, which we find rather unusual. I would recommend Karine and Philippe to everyone who loves wonderful nature, amazing hospitality and good tips. A must do!

Karine and Philippe were incredible hosts. Always there to give you a tip and share their knowledge and passion for Costa Rica, but also very respectful of your privacy. The place is wonderful, like a small paradise with an amazing garden, a swimming pool and so many birds to see. We planned to stay for 4 nights and extended our trip as we really felt home in the beautiful lodge that has all what you need inside. The kitchen is really practical, the whole lodge is spacious and no insects can enter (a big plus !). Special kuddo for the outside barbecue. We highly recommend this lodge, it was a blast and we would definitively come back !! Thank you again Karine and Philippe !!

We stayed here for 5 nights - the grounds, pool and accommodation are beautiful, very clean and well maintained. Outside if Cahuita which is nice as it is peaceful and you hear the birds and monkeys which is so much nicer than traffic. Kitchen in accommodation is equipped so it was nice to be able to make a lunch or dinner if you choose. Karine and Philippe are great hosts - thank you for a great stay. Gail and Peter
