Touring Cauhita with the owner helped us really connect with the Pura Vida spirit. He was so warm and welcoming, providing both educational insights into the ecosystem as well as cultural insights into what it was like to grow up in such a beautiful place. My wife and I both agree that our kayaking tour of the mangrove forest was our favorite part of our visit to Cahuita. We saw howler and spider monkeys, 3 and 2 toed sloths, toucans, bats, turtles, and countless other birds, fish, and bugs. Don't just stay here. Make sure you get at least a day or two out on the water with Tito. We had a blast!
When, arriving in the dark, I saw the sign directing me into an alley, I wondered what I would find. Turned out to be a hidden oasis in the heart of Cahuita. It was pouring warm rain and Ivon was waiting in her covered, outdoor reception area for me. She spoke English well enough for us, me a typical English first language traveler, to understand one another. I was given a parking spot right in front of my spacious, clean cabin, which was so prettily decorated and had a covered porch with rockers. Sat out there both evenings I was there, just listening to the rain, the waves and the frogs. Darling, their volunteer housekeeper (be sure to tip), was aptly named, a warm, kind lady. Surrounded by their own little jungle to explore, Titos is short walking distance to town centre and just across the road from the beach. Priced very affordably. Definitely recommended highly.…
Lovely garden area, lots of birds, poison dart frogs and other animals. This hotel is located close to black beach and a few good restaurants. The cabins are spacious and tidy. Very comfortable rooms with their own porch. There is a shared Kitchen with fridge, dishes, stove and toaster oven, this made it easy to prepare our own breakfasts and snacks. A nice quiet location, I would certainly stay here again!
The bungalows are absolutely lovely and the bathroom has everything you need. There is a kitchen for you to use to make your own coffee and breakfast in the morning or cook dinner in the evening. But what made this place so special is the wonderful garden with all the wildlife. We had a sloth (Lola), right next to our bungalow one night. Amazing to watch! And all that for a very good price! The best place we stayed in in Costa Rica!
Very friendly and helpful hosts. You can spot frogs, monkeys, hummingbirds around your cabin! It is a good place for the ones who loves the nature. The only difficulty is that there is no breakfast, but the coffee is very tasty :)
First of all, I stayed in room #1 (Morpho or Blue Morph). I had read and heard that this room was not good and so things started off a bit shaky for me because - I was given room #1! I immediately voiced my concerns, but Yvonne assured me that I would be happy with my room. She was right! The room has been redone. I believe the bathroom has been completely re-tiled and now has a rain shower! The bedroom and bathroom have also been painted and looked fresh and clean. I especially liked that I had my own 'driveway' so no trouble at all with parking (watch out for the coconut tree though). When I mentioned that the reading light next to my bed didn't work and they were unable to find a replacement bulb, they brought me a whole new light. Everyone I met was nice and friendly. If I ever return to Cahuita, this will be my place to stay and next time I hope to meet Tito!…
Although a few minutes away from "town" or the main road, the Cabinas are super nice and placed within a lovely garden. Our room was clean and equipped with Mosquito nets for each bed. All in all, an easy but recommendable location.
I spent three nights there with my boyfriend and we really loves that place. Even if I have the habit to travel, I can say that it is one of the place I loved the most. It was so nice to drink the coffee on the terrace on the morning, in our own private tropical garden. Everything was very clean, I specially liked the hibiscus flowers each day with fresh and cleans towels. Yvon, the owner, is just so sweet, I spoked a lot with her and enjoyed the time spent with her talking. I just add that the hostel is perfectly located : there is the playa just be behind and you can reach Cahuita center by walking in 2 minutes. Muchas gracias de nuevo ! Adelina
Nice, cosy and clean cabinas, in a beautifull garden, a couple of 100 meters from the small town center. The owner, Tito is very friendly and helpful. Make sure you visit the national park! Had a wonderful 2day stay.
We really liked our stay at this place. The cabinas are spacious and clean. Each cabina has a small private veranda where you can admire plenty of birds, frogs and other animals living in the garden. The owner Tito is very friendly and showed us the garden and the sloth Lola that sometimes comes by the big tree.
