Wonderful stay, my kids loved this hotel. We love breakfast with lots of fruit, eggs and pancaques. Staff is amazing, friendly and helpful. Beautiful gardens and pool, lot of animals, near the beach and center. We would like to return here.
I stayed 3 nights in the hotel during a trip to Cahuita. My wife and I was met by the owner, Daniel, who couldn't have been more welcoming and friendly. We had booked a room without A/C, but Daniel very kindly upgraded us for free for a room with A/C, which was definitely needed with the heat. We was made to feel at home throughout our stay and the staff are very helpful, even showing us around the garden and the sloths in the trees. The pool is a great size and the water was lovely and warm, which was a great way to end a day after walking around the national park. Will definitely return again
When our booked accommodations canceled on us at the last minute on my birthday, Daniel and Carla took us in & turned a vacation mishap into lovely evening. The pool is bliss, as is watching the monkeys, sloths and agoutis in the yard. The rooms are comfortable and the AC was welcome. Carla offered a lot of insight into the area and tourism in Costa Rica then sent us off to dinner at a lovely spot right on the Sea. I never write reviews but this little gem by the Caribbean was a little slice of heaven just when we needed it most.
Thanks Daniel for the nice stay in your Lodge, it was just amazing! Nice apartments, a beautiful pool and a perfect host! The breakfast and the privat dinner were delicious. Many thanks from the whole family!
On our honeymoon tour of Costa Rica, we stayed here for 6 nights in two separate blocks of 3 nights. The staff went over and above to help us. They were so friendly and accommodating and couldn't have done any more for us to ensure we had the best honeymoon. We would recommend the night time nature hike that can be booked through the reception. We saw the most incredible reptiles and amphibians. We loved the Swiss style chalet reception and the pool area. Not everyday you can sit on a sunbed and watch hummingbirds, toucans and howler monkeys while having a cocktail. The traditional breakfasts were delicious. Would recommend staying here if you visit Cahuita as it is a short beach walk into the town and nature reserve.
This was our favourite hotel that we stayed in Costa Rica. What was true at Suizo was true of most of the hotels we stayed in in that it was the grounds and service that made it rather than the room itself. Our room was okay, relatively spacious with air conditioning. We had to leave early the last day and they opened the kitchen early for us which was a lovely gesture. Like other previous guests, you can see so much wildlife in the grounds. Even before we had checked in, a baby sloth had been pointed out to us in a tree in the car park. We ate in one night after a heavy down pour. This meant a lot of the wildlife came out so a couple of fellow guests were out with a huge torch pointing out an opossum eating a coconut up a tree. By the end there were eight of us spotting in the grounds. Never done anything like it before, it was great. We didn't have a car which was a disadvantage although you can get taxis. We walked in and back to/from Cahuita one day. It was fine going but very hot back. One day we got a local bus to Puerto Vargas and entered the national park there and walked back to Cahuita. You walk on the boardwalk to the coast and then walk back along the coast to Cahuita. Very easy to do. The PV entrance is so much quieter than the Cahuita one and we had the sloth we saw above our heads all to ourselves. …
We stayed for 3 nights here, hoping to go snorkelling, the weather prevented that activity, but the hotel was delightful. Our room was very spacious, air conditioned with a very private terrace. The staff were excellent, helpful and welcolming. The manager/owner had a wonderful sense of humour which further enhanced a great stay. Thank you.
... when you can lie on a pool bed and watch the wildlife come to you? We saw so many creatures in the grounds: sloths, hummingbirds, butterflies, an aguti, a tree full of iguanas and even a toad, plus plenty more. We went for a birdwalk with the hotel guide. which was fantastic, he really knows his stuff. We saw trogons, a squirrel cuckoo, woodpeckers, a bat falcon killing and eating a swift and loads more, all within half hour walk of the hotel. Cabins are fine, but you can hear every move the neighbours make, so bear that in mind. I found the heat and humidity quite challenging, but can't blame the hotel for that ;)
Very nice lodge in the jungle with nice and clean bungalows, a pool and pool bar where Ramona is mixing the best Caipirinha we had in Costa Rica, a very nice garden, close to the beach (5-10 walking minutes), good kitchen, very friendly people, Suisse managed, nothing to complain at all. We did spend three days there, next time will take some more as a break within round trips.Dont miss it
Immediately on arriving at in the lodge's lush garden, you realize that you are, indeed,in the jungle. The sound of the howler monkeys,as well as the abundant birds and butterflies, remind you that it's still possible to experience an authentic piece of the tropical forest. but to do so in a hotel with comfortable rooms,a large pool, and excellent food, is a special treat. in addition, the owner, daniel, oversees a competent, friendly staff who are quite willing to accommodate any special request. all in all, a stay worth repeating.
