The place is not clean. Blankets on the bed were not washed. The pillow shams smelled but were changed. The table cloth was not changed in 7 days in the dining room where we had breakfasts. The dishes were for breakfast were dirty. But we had hot water every shower which is a gift in Costa Rica. Its close to everything.
We had a wonderful time at Marfi Inn. The apartments are spacious, well equipped and kept very clean. The breakfast is phenomenal. Everything is fresh and cooked perfectly. The Girasol restaurant of the same owners has by far the best food in Cahuita. Probably the best and most authentic Italian food in Costa Rica. The place is in the centre of Cahuita, easy walking distance to the park and the beaches, but in a quiet side street so there is no noise at night. Grazie Marika Filipo y Nicolas for a great holiday!
Great apartment, great price and awesome Italian good! Stayed here for 4 nights and added an extra night no problem. The restaurant has authentic Italian home made pasta. You have to pay in cash but there is a bank machine in town. Restaurant accepts cards
Marika and her husband Philipe are absolutely wonderful hosts. Our group of 7 mature travelers was taken very good care of. The breakfast was served with charm and our stay was very enjoyable. I would recommend for any family or small group of travelers. The evenings on the Inn's patio were nothing but pleasure.
There was a lot of space and a well equipped kichen. In the evening it was nice to sit on the balcony.. The breakfast is excellent and the restaurant also offers very good food. The owner is very friendly and the staff as well.
You will receive a lot for your money her! This is actually an apartment with stove, fridge a nice bedroom. You have free WIFI and TV! They serve excellent breakfast each morning. The location is great near the bus station and a small mall! The Cahuita national park is only about five hundred meters away! This accommodation prefers to be paid in cash so please prepare so you do have cash in advance. Costa Rica’s banking system is not the best with 100 US Dollar as maximum limit each day if you get any money out of the ATM at all!
We stayed for two nights at the Marfi Inn Apartments while we were visiting our son in Costa Rica. We were so pleased with the accommodations and the hospitality of the owners. The rooms are spacious and (ours at least) had a kitchenette area with a small fridge. The air conditioning got the back bedroom nice and cool and was adequate to cool the front area also as long as we kept the bedroom door open. We had two rooms since my niece and her family were all staying there as well, and we loved the large landing that our two rooms shared with tables and comfortable chairs. It was an excellent private area where we could all sit together outside, visiting with one another and enjoying the beautiful weather. The beach was an easy 5-10 minute walk from the hotel and there are many nice restaurants and shops very close by. We ate one evening in the Italian restaurant on the property and we all enjoyed our meals there. Breakfast was complimentary and they had the table set for us, just waiting for whenever we came down to eat. The first morning they served us sliced cheeses, meats, beautiful fresh fruits, toast, juice and coffee. They kept refilling the serving plates as needed and offered to make us anything else we wanted, but what they offered was perfect for us. The second morning was a similar breakfast, but we also opted for the scrambled eggs. One evening when we returned from walking around Cahuita, we asked if we could order some coffee. They happily obliged and even brought it up to our balcony area for us where we were relaxing. They charged us very little for it. They obviously just wanted to make our stay enjoyable. If we ever get a chance to return to Cahuita, we know where we will be staying!…
We stayed 4 nights at this place and where extremely pleased with the experience. We truly did not expect to stay in such a lovely room with everything we needed for a family of 4. And neither did we expect to eat such good food (too good, we actually had diner at their restaurant every night we stayed there). Plus, the hosts were very welcoming.
We stayed here for one night last February and found this by accident. This small Italian run apart hotel is a home away from home. It has all of the necessary items to stay for a mid to long stay as well. It was very, clean and comfortable and secure. You can cook your own meals if you wish. It is located near the bus station on the main road , but it was quiet. Nothing is too far from the water. The rooms near the ocean are very noisy with huge crashing waves 24 hours a day. This hotel also has a lovely Italian restaurant as well.
This was a wonderful place. The owners were so nice, the breakfast was incredible, the room was immaculate, and felt very safe. A little on the pricey side but probably the coziest place I've stayed in Costa Rica. Also the sheets were the softest ever.
