Jenny’s Cabinas is a little belt place to stay. Our room was one of the smaller ones but we still had a mini kitchen complete with fridge, coffeemaker, electric frying pan and dishes. We ate our breakfast sitting on the balcony watching the waves roar. Although there is no yard or garden, the balcony facing the ocean made up for it. Easiest way to get hold of Jenny is WhatsApp +506 6018 4640

Spent 5 nights in Jenny's beautiful Cabinas. Nice room with 2 fans, private balcony with direct sea-view with hammock and table. Small kitchen with blender and private bathroom with hot water. Queensize-bed with mosquito-net. Restaurants and supermarkets 2 minutes footwalk. Jenny was very helpful and nice all the time. Would go again!

This hotel was the lowlight of our trip in Costa Rica and Panama. The room is fine but nothing special. The owner is not very friendly. They allow smoking on the patios which do not have much privacy between them. The ocean, while close, is not a beach and the “view” is not really worth the incessant noisy pounding against the sea wall. Many many hostels in town and just outside town that are a better value. Worst part was - we ended up with some really bad bug bites both nights we slept here. It wasn’t mosquitoes as we didn’t really see any sitting on the porch and diligently used the net the second night but still woke up just murdered with itchy red welts. We headed to the pharmacy to get some Benadryl and anti itch cream on our way out of town. Not sure what was biting us but we didn’t see anything obvious in our search of the mattress. Haven’t had any more issues like that on be rest of our trip but those bites are still healing two weeks later.

I have stayed here several times and have recommended it to many people in the past. It is such a quant little, place facing the ocean with mosquito nets over the beds and a hammock on each balcony. In the past, the administrators of the hotel were very welcoming, friendly, helpful and professional. This time, nothing could be farther from that. Jenny herself was rude, apparently overwhelmed , and seemingly unhappy to be running the hotel and dealing with people who were staying there. Maybe it was a bad week for her. I don't know, but it is not worth going there again to find out. Maybe you can catch Jenny on a better week. ... Also, her dog is in need of medical care for his/her massive rash. Sweet dog living in a an uncomfortable way ... I am not going there anymore and I can no longer, in good conscience, recommend Jenny's Cabinas to others.

I stayed here with 2 friends last week for 2 nights. I found these cabinas to be exactly what you'd expect from cabinas in Costa Rica. Modestly furnished, modest bathroom, comfy bed. You have what you need in the rooms (fridge, some dishes, etc.) but everything is modest. For me, for the price, it was fine. Jenny was very helpful. A couple of helpful tips to avoid anyone staying here and being disappointed: 1. make sure you are clear on how you will pay. I paid cash. Not sure what credit cards she takes or what the process is for taking them. 2. There is no AC. Many places in Cahuita don't have AC. It's not a deal breaker but even with the breeze from the ocean it was very warm. To be fair we were there in the middle of a heat wave. The fan in room kept the air moving and a cold shower right before jumping into bed helped, but just be aware. 3. The rooms are, as you'd expect, right next to each other. Because these are cabinas vs. a full hotel, the walls are thin. So if you are trying to sleep and someone is on their balcony it's like they're in the room with you. One morning I know my friends were loud (we had 2 rooms), one night my neighbors were loud. I mentioned to Jenny, I think she mentioned to them, and the 2nd night the noise wasn't an issue. It was amazing to hear the ocean all night and the location is super so please don't take my 3 points as negatives, just know to expect them. Her prices are reflect these 3 points anyway so for the price you shouldn't expect AC or fancier accommodations. I do appreciate Jenny and the time she spent with us and look forward to another stay in the future!

Jenny's Cabinas is in a fantastic location right on the ocean, short walk to the national park and short walk into town. Rooms are airy with big windows facing the ocean view. Sleep listening to the sound of waves on comfortable beds! Rooms include an 18L water dispenser, coffee pot, toaster oven, fridge and plates and utensils. Jenny is very accommodating and helpful as well. We looked around town at other places, and found this this was superior to all others as far as location, price, and amazing view of ocean!

I rate Jenny's a 5 not because it's perfect, but because it offers the "perfect combination" of factors for a 5 rating from me. I always stay here when I visit Cahuita. It's directly on the water so the surf breaking on the coral shoreline (no beach here) is a constant pleasure. I always take a room upstairs to enjoy the view and breeze. Refrig. coffee maker, toaster oven and a few dishes/cutlery enable light meals in the room. Bottled water cooler too. Thanks Jenny, See you soon!

We were really excited to get to Jenny's cabin after a 4 hour bus journey from San Jose and after reading all of these reviews and the roughs guide we were expecting big things. We stayed in the room downstairs which was perfectly adequate, reasonable price ($35) fan, shutters, lock on door and comfy bed. Location wise spot on and lovely to have private bathroom for once! But defiantly pay the $55 of you can for the nicer room or $40 for the rooms on top level, they were all taken when we got there.

This was our favourite place in two weeks of travel in Costa Rica. It was right on the water with a fridge, coffee maker, water cooler, two beds, our own balcony with hammock and lounge chairs. We even had sloths in the trees outside one day. As dog lovers we also liked the friendly and well-behaved dogs on the property. I would go back anytime.

After touring Costa Rica with my fiancé we finally ended up in Cahuita. There are only a couple hotels that are directly on my the water, and Jenny's Cabinas is, in my opinion, the best choice. Although you can't swim directly in front of the hotel, playa de negro is just a short walk away. The proprietor was very friendly and accommodating. All four rooms are second story with great balconies that offer an amazing view. The rooms are simple and romantic with hot/cold water, a fridge, and coffee pot (coffee included!). This place is exactly what I envisioned when I decided to travel to this beautiful country!
