This is a new resort in Cahuita we where lucky that the owner allow us to stay even so the place it's not officially open yet.The pool it's one of the buggers on the region the mini golf its amazing and we have the chance to play a few games of tennis. Unlucky we where only allow to use only part of the spa the gym and the sauna and the whirlpool with a great view of the jungle as the staff was not there to offer all the services like massage body wrap facial and so on. My wife had the chance to do some of her workout on the yoga desk overlooking the jungle We are planing to return in December. We do recommend this place to those who want to experience the best in Cahuita

Don Arnoldo, the owner is a very special and kind person. The rooms are ok and the lot is huge and beautiful. Its a family place with a very nice poll for everyone and everything. It has it own bar and parking. Also a SPA tha anyone would like and love. The SPA is enormous and with all the services you need.

We just back from Costa Rica and we had the chance to stay for the first time on a Feng Shui boutique resort. To our surprise this place was nothing as we had expected. We had been in a few places in Central America and most of them feel and look almost the same. Our rooms where sparking clean and extremely comfortable with a very modern look. A mix of European with a touch of Asian. The service was incredible and thanks for the a/c as the weather was extremely hot even at night. Food was good and the bar very eco with tables and stools done with natural wood from the jungle. We where amazing by the pool, incredible size for the location and the waterfall producing a great relaxing feeling. Our game of tennis at the court was interrupted by a shower that took as by surprise but we were able to continue after a few drinks as we wait till the rain was over. We did experience a bit of trouble with the water in our room after the rain , but we had read on the info brochure that we found in our room that at times its happen due that the water supply comes from a water well, by the following morning water was running good. We had the chance to take a few tours of the area and we where amazing by Cahuita national park. Snorking was great and we had a great time at the beach. Without questions this is one of the best resorts of the area. I am not sure how many stars do they have but I give then 10 stars. Great place. Keep the Feng Shui work !!!!.

Stayed there for 2 nights with my wife. Nice area, nice idea, bad finish and bad execution. I seriously question the all good reviews here! Did these people stay at another hotel? or is management writing the reviews? I guess there are no other bad reviews because nobody stays there, when we got there we were the only ones!
It is planed as a luxury resort, but .......
Spa? Does not have one! However it has a good looking pool.
Organized tours? Never seen anything!
Tennis Court? Not usable.
Bed? Plastic covers over the mattress!
Well, at least the AC worked!
....and, definitive don't go there if you do not have your own vehicle! You will be locked away 8 miles off the beach!

Response from IntiresortVillas, Manager at Inti Resort and Villas
Responded Jan 16, 2013
Dear Sir, Please know at Inti Resort and Villas we pride ourselves on trying to make our guests feel most welcome and comfortable. I want to thank you for your comments. It was a pleasure to serve you. I understand that you had difficulty in accessing the wi-fi on the resort upon your arrival, but know that by the following day we worked tirelessly to get the wi-fi running so you and your wife could use it at your leisure. I want to assure you that your comments about our reviews were highly offensive. As you may or may not know Trip Advisor controls and validates all reviews. I understand your expectations were not met, but to make such allegations is unfounded. During your stay, I want to say that we were booked with visitors both prior to your visit and after. To suggest again that you were the only guests is false. Our resort is quite large, and takes up an enormous amount of space. Our guests are free to roam and be anywhere on the premises and take advantage of the tours and activities available. Please note that most guests had prearranged tours where they left in the early morning and didn’t return til late. Unfortunately, by the time you awoke most guests were on their adventures. I feel we went to great lengths to accommodate you and your guests. I emphasize “guests” as you took your dog onto the resort. We clearly stipulate on our website that NO PETS are allowed on the property. We made an exception for you seeing as you possibly were not aware or you chose to ignore the information. Seeing as our resort is intended for a restful and relaxing experience, we do not feel it is appropriate to push our guests into doing activities or tours or anything that may make them feel uncomfortable. Therefore, we give our guests their personal freedom to choose that which they want to partake in. I understand that most all-inclusive resorts offer games and activities set out by the staff, we do not claim to be that type of resort. Being in Central America, there is much wildlife and because of that we must take every precaution necessary to avoid the invasion of creatures. Bed bugs being one of them! The plastic, you refer to in your review, is a hypoallergenic cover placed on the beds so that our guests are not infested with mites, bed bugs or any other creepy crawly that can cause harm. We take the comfort of our guests seriously, and we welcome any suggestions you may have should you know of any other material to use. You did have the option to have your cover removed if you were enduring that much discomfort. I understand you were disappointed with the amount of travel distance you endured in getting to our resort. I again want to stipulate that the location is clearly outlined on our website. Being in the jungle, our resort requires a bit of driving. As most resorts in the area do. If you want to avoid the driving distance may we suggest staying in town (Puerto Viejo) to better suite your needs. It was a pleasure to serve you. We regret that we could not meet your standards, but know we did our best to accommodate you. Marcos Vinicio Manager Inti Resort and Villas

Inti Resort and Villas stands up to everything it promises. I can’t say enough about it. My friend and I were looking for an escape from the oversized and overpopulated commercial resorts, but still have the luxury of a resort experience, and we found it here! The resort is so peaceful, so majestic with its natural surroundings and extremely friendly. We meditated, and did yoga and I can’t tell you how utterly thrilled we were with this place. Thanks so much!

Inti Resort and Villas has been an exceptional experience for me and my family. As a brand new resort, we were so thrilled to have had such a beautiful experience. The staff is absolutely lovely. We were offered exceptional service. My husband and I were happy to see the child friendly facilities, our two kids loved it. It was truly a peaceful and very relaxing time. We took advantage of the yoga and meditation classes which were wonderful. The tours were well organized. The villa we stayed in was very relaxing and we apprecitated the privacy. The grounds of the resort felt like paradise. We are anxious to revisit and create new Costa Rican memories. Thank you to Inti Resort and Villas for making our stay so wonderful!

Inti Resort and Villas has something for everyone, and in considerable proportions. I mean everything’s large here: the pool, restaurant, rooms, spa, food portions… It’s hard to imagine so much comfort and variety in this area. You drive off the main road to Cahuita and Puerto Viejo for about 3 miles on a narrow gravel road, in the middle of the jungle, and then suddenly you arrive to this astounding place, perfect for an escape from the hustle and bustle of cities and towns without sacrificing self-indulgence. And Arnaldo, one of the owners, is not only a highly skilled hotel administrator and chef, but also a wonderful human being. He didn’t just open his home to us, but also his heart. We spent many hours sharing stories, opinions, advices and jokes, and he and his delightful staff always made sure we had everything we needed and more. They’re all the kind of people that will go the extra mile to ensure complete satisfaction. Will definitely go back!

First and foremost: This hotel is a 5 km drive into the jungle along a winding, steep gravel road. The remote location of the resort is not indicated anywhere on the website, so it was quite a shock. If you are driving yourself you will need 4WD, if you are not then I would recommend staying somewhere else as you will be at the mercy of the horrendous management.

Even though it was listed as part of the room amenities, there is absolutely no internet here at all (including wifi), and no phones in the rooms. Also, we stayed here for 3 nights and were the only people at the "resort" for 2 of those nights, not seeing a single person day or night. When we arrived on Dec. 26th, they were only then setting up the Christmas tree and dining room. This led us to believe that there was no one staying at the resort previous to our arrival either.

The hotel maintained a veneer of 4 star quality, but once you scratched the surface nothing lived up to the hype. NOTHING WORKS! The tennis courts were cracked, the mini golf course was overgrown and flooded, the spa saunas were nonfunctional and the games room only had a working foosball table (the pool table did not work). The "yoga area" was a roofed area down the hill, there was no yoga instructor on site.

The food at the restaurant was excellent, but the menu was limited with just 3 pasta dishes and 4 entrees, and there isn't anywhere else to eat without driving at least 30 minutes. The hotel offers a supposed shuttle service to various locations, but we were charged between $15-$30 USD each way, including pickup from our previous hotel. We arranged a canopy tour in Puerto Viejo for 8:30 AM and the hotel manager told us it usually lasts around 4 hours. He then told us he would pick us up at 11:30 AM (which was less than 4 hours from the start of the tour) and when we arrived later than 11:30, we were charged an additional $10 USD on top of the already expensive shuttle cost, even though we did not ask him to pick us up at that time!

The room itself was quite basic, with creaky wooden floors, musty smell, paper thin walls and a bathroom that was questionable at best. It was shabbier than a roadside motel in North America. Twice the water simply shut off!

The management was terrible but the staff were quite nice. While few spoke English, they really made an effort and tried to make our stay the best it could be.

Overall the place was just disappointing, my wife and I were looking forward to a beautiful resort and we got a cheap motel. I really question the previous good reviews of this hotel!

Beautiful place to stay in the focal point of the jungle of Cahuita. The hotel is extremely welcoming; the hotel and rooms are absolutely spotless, and beautiful decorated which quite an achievement is considering the location. Cahuita is very small but for its size has a good selection of excellent restaurants. The nearby national park is fantastic and we saw plenty of wildlife. Over all was a great trip.

Thank you

As a hotel manager (I live and work in Hawaii), the Inti Resort & Villas rates as a 5 diamond boutique resort. The quality of the guest rooms and features of the Resort were well planned and executed with a luxurious finish. Aside from the stunning product, it was the service that really elevated my experience at the Resort. The staff was exceptionally friendly - smiles all the time and any of our requests were immediately acknowledged and delivered.
On a personal note, my objective was to destress and re-connect. Inti Resort allowed me to re-connect to nature in a very exotic, but safe environment, while the yoga/meditation and spa helped me to destress and re-align my spirit. Words can't explain how valuable this experience was for me and I have to thank everyone at the Inti Resorts & Villas.
Everything from the arrival experience, guest rooms, food, and the spa/yoga activities plus the beautiful location made this a wonderful trip. I would highly recommend Inti Resorts & Villas to anyone who is looking for a get-away. The quality and service for the price paid is a great benefit so don't wait to book! It's a boutique Resort and the demand for Inti will continue to increase - it's a hidden gem, but not for long. I've already made reservations for my next visit in February 2013 to celebrate my 40th birthday! See you all soon!
