We stayed here for 3 nights over a week ago. Whilst the stay was initially fine on our last day (the day the cleaners came in) our room was broken into and all our stuff stolen including all our electronics, passports and even our backpacks. Oddly our passports were returned the next day (to ensure we get out of the area no doubt). The owner 'Peck' was conveniently away that night and we never saw or heard from him again. DO NOT TRUST HIM. The night of the break in there was no security and no one heard anything. There is no security at these cabins. We only went out for dinner for an hour and in that time the room was ransacked. We have our suspicions that this could have been an inside job as the padlock was missing from the door and it looked suspicious, BE WARNED THERE IS NO SECURITY AT THIS HOTEL AND THE ROOMS ARE NOT SAFE WE DO NOT TRUST THE STAFF OR OWNER.…

Cabinas Riverside far exceeded our expectations. Our room was clean and it didn't get to hot, and the shower was honestly the best one we have used in Costa Rica; Hot and amazing pressure! The mosquito net over the bed, though a bit of an annoyance at times, worked really well and helped add to a great sleep. We honestly saw more wildlife here than any other point in our trip. From the monkeys to Caymens to Iguanas to birds, it had it all. Anythingg you missed you could walk 100m down the road to Cahuita national park. Definitely will be back to stay at Cabinas Riverside!

We stayed at Cabinas Riverside for 1 night. The location was easily walkable from the bus station even with all of our bags. It was also conveniently located right next to the national park, beaches and the town. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by Peck. He was extremely friendly and welcoming and wanted us to see what his property had to offer. Within 5 minutes we spotted 2 camens (one about 8-10ft!!) and iguanas. After returning from Cahuita Park we saw tons of monkeys who were actually very friendly and let you get pretty close. Rooms were clean and stayed pretty comfortable at night. Only thing i would request is a new fan. The one we got was really rusty and pieces were literally falling off. Over all amazing stay and great host! :) would for sure come back

We spent a week at Cabinas Riverside. They are simple and clean and inexpensive. We especially liked the rooms with kitchenette so we could make our meals. Walking distance from stores, a nice fruit and veggie market, bank with ATM, many good and affordable restaurants, the bus station but most importantly the national park and beaches are just around the corner. Make sure to also spend time with and get to know your hosts Luis and Peck and sit with them in the garden. They are lovely people who grew up in the area and you will learn a lot from them. And you if go on a walking tour of the national park - be sure to go with Peck. Also ask him to hook you up with Justo and a tour of the BriBri community during your stay. Spend time in the garden - every day we saw capuchin and howler monkeys, sloths, iguana, caimans and many bird species - to name a few - more animals than we saw than any national park except Corcovado. We will certainly be going back and plan to stay a long while!…

We stayed at Cabinas Riverside for 2 nights. Peck was really friendly when we arrived. The room was basic and clean. It is close to the entrance of the national park, playa blanca and the center but far enough not to be troubled by any noise. There is a garden and if you are lucky you can even spot some animals.

The owner Peck is a very dishonest man who is only concerned about money. I reserved with him for 2 nights the day before my stay during the busy easter week. I paid him in full for the 2 nights at that time and he wrote my no receipt. On the day of my departure he comes to my room screaming that I needed to pay for one more night. I had already paid him in full for the 2 nights! He told me I needed to pay for the night before as well! As I thought it was wrong I told him I would not pay and he told me he would call the police. He was basically threatening me.I chose to move on and continue enjoying my vacation instead of spending the day with the Costa Rican police and just gave him the 20 or so dollars. He will never have my business again and I wouldn't recommend the place to anybody. If you do go make sure you are very clear on your terms with him and get everything in writing or I guarantee he will try to cheat you.…

We just finished staying in a one bedroom cabina with kitchenette. The owners Luis and Peck Ferguson were very kind and helpful to us. They checked to see if we needed anything everyday. Always with a smile. The room was clean and comfortable. A big bonus was the fact that there was a lot of wildlife to be seen right in the yard of the cabinas. We saw white faced monkeys, crocodiles , a sloth, and several species of birds. It is only a 5 minute walk to the National Park and beach. Also 5 minute walk to town with restaurants, food stores, bus station, tour agencies, etc. We had a very relaxing stay and were treated like family.
