Amazing hosts! French family who love what they do and make you feel right at home.

They gave us a full introduction on the region and all its possibilities and sights. We followed their advice on many of the suggestions on restaurants and tours and were always very happy!

Breakfast is definitely worth having at least once during your stay to try the home made treats based on local produce (mango jam, fresh daily juice, etc).

It is preferable to have a car in the region (parking available at the hotel) but if not, the hosts offer shuttle service to the national park of Cahuita and the local bus stop is not far.

It was a great stay and everything went well. The hosts were very helpful and provided all the information we needed.

I would only recommend hosts to consider a vegan option for their breakfast menu and a change to the main mattress.

Thank you for your nice comment. We offer several breakfast formulas including a formula more suitable for vegans with French bread, homemade jam and coffee or juice. For the mattresses, we changed them 1 year ago Pura vida!!!!

So my new bride and myself were traveling all over CR. We found this place from a local business owner. We were by no means dissatisfied. The owners were very kind, very helpful and the cost was more than fair. The facilities were clean and the staff were very hospitable. Nothing extravagant, but very relaxing and comfortable. We recommend this place to anyone that wants quaint and refreshing.

This is a small budget hotel run by a nice French family. The rooms are clean but very small, with good showers and comfortable beds. They have a nice outdoor space with a hammock in front of each room. as well as a small pool and a cold jacuzzi. The choice of optional breakfasts were reasonably priced and generous. There are no restaurants within walking distance. We did not have a car, but the hosts recommended a fabulous local taxi driver who we used the entire time that we spent in Cahuita. The distant sound of the howling monkeys enticed us to spend more time in the area.

We stayed 3 nights at this very nice hotel.
The french owners are extremely nice and helpful.
They recently remodelled that hotel and you see that they did this with a lot of dedication. As well the breakfast was nice, with fresh bread from the bakery and self made jam.

Excellent value. The hotel staff are very helpful and the hotel provides good facilities with a pool and library. The rooms are clean and the hotel has a separate kitchen. The kitchen is very handy for cooking snacks, hot drinks, and so on. The hotel is competitively priced and close to the Cahuita National Park. Recommended.

I went to the South Caribbean zone of Costa Rica to do business, not for pleasure. Though, we do not want a luxurious hotel, we rather be in a standard place. This hotel is well located, near to Puerto Vargas protected area (walking distance to the entrance) and not far away from Puerto Viejo and Cahuita downtown areas. I recommend the hotel strongly, mainly because the French couple that administrate the business are really amazing. Mateo is outstanding.

We did a quick visit to the South Caribbean area while attending a family event and took one night at this place.
It's a low budget place, rooms are very basic but clean and comfortable enough. Having the main road just in front, might be an issue for someone looking for a quite place. The swimming pool is not big but is good to get relaxed. Attention from the staff it's just the average... owners will inform you about their facilities into the property but the smiles are limited, probably due the low rates. So all in all it's good place if you are in a hurry or looking for save some $, but if you really like to enjoy the experience and happiness into the beautiful Costa Rican south Caribbean, could be better look for other alternatives ;)

We really loved our stay in this hotel. The owner was very friendly and gave us a lift to the entrance of Cahuita park so that we didn't have to take a cab. The room was clean and spacious and the pool and Jacuzzi were awesome. It also has hammocks to relax all around and nice flowers.
I would definitely stay again!

Le Colibri Rouge, is a great place where you can stay near Cahuita. If you are thinking low budget this is a great place, but hey low budget not necessarily means cheap, talking about quality.
In terms of location, well that depends, if you are and adventurer and you don't mid to walk a bit to get to the Puerto Vargas entrance or walk a few more minutes to get to Cahuita downtown. But if you do mind then drive a few minutes and you are at Cahuita.
However, it has a great atmosphere. Our room was ready and clean, the bathroom is spacious, the bed are fine, you get to have a little table and chairs in the corridor and hammock!!!! You also get the usual, a little TV, A/C, a little fridge, a fan, a handy guide on things to do in Cahuita, towels and soap, but you can improve in this topic we were 4 and they only gave us 2 towels, no big issue, butt still a point to improve.
The rest, well the pool and jacuzzi are awesome and clean. There are several areas where you can hangout and also a shared kitchen if you want to cook something.
The owners are great, this french family is amazing, very friendly with positive vibes.
Oh and the dogs are great too!!!
I will come back definitively!!
