My wife and I spent 4 nights at this lovely hotel in the laid back village of Cahuita. Our room was really nice, bright and spacious with an outdoor seating area looking towards the blue Caribbean. The staff were warm and friendly and the hotel is blessed with a really lovely restaurant seating area within a few feet of the sea. The Italian food, and particularly the prosciutto and buffalo mozzarella starter were just great. The hotel is a few minutes walk from the entrance to the wonderful Cahuita National Park. The park can be busy with many day trippers presumably from cruise liners at the nearby port of Limon but the variety of wildlife encountered at close hand is quite remarkable. In the evenings, the village of Cahuita is quiet and laid back with a distinctly Caribbean vibe quite different to other parts of Costa Rica we visited. There are some spots where swimming in the sea is possible but the water was quite rough during the days we visited. In summary the Cahuita Inn is a great base to stay at in this lovely part of Costa Rica.…
Our waiter called Daniel the raccoon but to no avail we did not see this wonderful friend of the coast! Stay here. Just do it! The Kenyans staff are top notch but in the best kind of Pura Vida way. Italians that my husband enjoyed practicing Italian with were the finest hosts! The walk to the hustling part of town was an easy few blocks. We walked also the the nation park. Gorgeous place! The room was so incredibly comfortable and finishes were perfect. Like I said …yes stay here!
This was our first trip to Cahuita, and we were so fortunate to have landed in this idyllic little hotel. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and each has a beautiful little patio looking out to the ocean, which is only a few steps away. A lush garden area spans the area between the hotel and the ocean, and our very first day we spotted a sloth in the trees. Over the next three weeks we were treated to howler monkeys (wow, are they loud at 5:30 am!), poison dart frogs, more sloths, beautiful butterflies (including the blue morpho), huge moths (including a hand sized cecropia moth), and just a lovely laid back vibe. Guiseppe and Elisa, the wonderful Italian owners, are on the property every day ensuring that everyone is well taken care of. The staff are all wonderful...Phillipe, Juana, Andrea, Evalina, Edama, Daniel, the cook whose name I didn't get, and probably others, & I'm sorry if I missed someone. Every person contributed to a wonderful and relaxing stay here. We definitely plan to be back.…
We stayed there a few weeks ago, and the place is just wonderful. Located in quiet Cahuita, it's a welcome change from the overcrowded, super-touristy Puerto Viejo area. However, it's close enough that a short drive will get you there, and you'll have the chance to escape it all when you've had enough. The rooms are modern, clean and have all you can ask for (even a Britt espresso machine!) The pool is clean and ample, but the property is simply amazing. Wide, open, tree-covered, and all facing the sea. It's not a swimming beach, but still great for walks, and searching for sloths in the trees above. (We found three) The FOOD is an amazing surprise, as where as many people leave their hotel to go out to eat, people were actually visiting the restaurant to eat. And with good reason. The Italian owner, Giuseppe, has brought some amazing Italian flavors to little Cahuita. Both wood-fired pizza, and pastas were excellent. Some of the best italian food we've had in CR. My wife and our kids all loved this place. I can't recommend it enough, and we look forward to going back again soon.…
Fantastic experience! Awesome beachfront stay and a real Italian food for your fancy night outs! For Cahuita, and for the price, very luxury stay in the heart of Caribbean. Plus, the owner Giuseppe is an amazing man to have great conversations.
Just a wonderful place. Except the ocean, birds or monkeys from the nearby national park there is no noise. Silence at night and a overwhelming view from your bedroom when you wake up. The Italian hosts are very professional and friendly. So is the rest of the staff. The swimmingpool for cooling down and the decks also have this marvelous view. No need to say that the rooms are wonderful, large and clean. The restaurant with a pizza oven from Italy is superb. Hard to leave this place.
Very cute hotel - 5 rooms, all very spacious and nice. Small swimming pool and short walk to the sea (although it’s a rocky shore). The highlight is their restaurant however - I go to Italy every year and their pizza/pasta is some of the BEST I have ever tasted. We went there every single night. Fantastic waiting staff. Would come back here for sure Ciao Hotel Cahuita!
We came in the rainy season so we were the only guests. But hotel was very nice. Friendly stuff made good breakfast. Comfy room pool and great view relaxing on the beach in a hammock. Made us feel stay in a private villa.
We wanted to stay couple of days and travel around... we stayed a week!!! Thanks so much to the Italian owners Elisa and Giuseppe! The rooms are clean, matresses firm, food and ambience fantastic!!! The rooms follow out to the tropical garden behind which is just the ocean. To see during dinner howler monkey is an experience on its own! Did I mention the wine?...? 😁
I am from Germany and my home town has a lot of Italian restaurants, some are your run of the mill Pizza place, some are really fancy and charge you an arm and a leg for a bowl of spaghetti – ironically, Cahuita Inn on the other side of the world is my favorite. And not just for the location - the backyard is gorgeous, I took pictures that I framed and put on my wall there) - but for the food. The family owning the place imports the ingredients directly from their home region in Italy. And you can taste it. Everyone who really likes cheese and has spent time in Costa Rica knows how hard it is to get good cheese there. This is the answer! The mixed cheese plate is hands down one of the best I ever had. And I don't know a better 4 cheese pizza either. If you're more into pasta, I can recommend the Capelletti, I haven't managed to try any other, because I like them so much. And I'm coming to Cahuita for three years now. Also, the place is always spot clean and extremely well kept. In a country where everything constantly tries to revert back to jungle, that requires hard work and dedication. As I mentioned, the view in the backyard is amazing. In the evenings, silhouetted trees stand in fron of the deep blue Carribbean see .. it's so beautiful you think you look at a post card. One evening we had a Boa in a tree, a sloth in another and then a small herd of howler monkeys coming in, plundering the almond tree. I cannot say much about the hotel, as I never stayed there. I'd be very surprised if it wasn't great though. I cannot see the family putting that restaurant up and then botching the hotel.…
