Amazing visit! Room was simple and clean outside space with hot tub was wonderful! The food and drinks were outstanding..Mario offers top notch service as did all the hotel staff. The pools, gardens and grounds were beautiful. We loved the private beach access and can’t wait to return!!
We loved this small boutique hotel for it’s location, setting, meals, private beach area and service! The half board was worth the extra cost as the breakfasts were hearty and the dinners were great! The pools and tropical setting was beautiful. The service by all staff members was outstanding but a special shout out to Endy, Eli and Mario!
There are good and not so good rooms, so that is where I'll start. I would recommend a premium + room or higher, since then at least you get a better view. Rooms are tiny and basic (some are more dated than others), our water pressure was not good, but the most disappointing part is the bed and bedding. The beds are very hard, so you MUST ask for a pillow top. With the pillow top, it is much better and I could actually sleep, but still not super comfortable. If you like hard beds, you might not struggle like I did. Also the bedding is terrible. It is very cheap and scratchy, and there is no duvet blanket. They only provide a small thin fleece-like blanket in the closet, and it reminded me of the blankets you get on the airplane, very poor quality. We received 30% off our nightly rate and still paid $350 CAD/night, I was honestly shocked about the bed situation for the price we paid. I can get over everything else, but the bed is probably the most important thing I look for in a hotel. Luckily this hotel really grew on me. The staff are truly amazing, friendly, welcoming, and lovely people. The hotel is on a beautiful setting, the grounds are beautiful. The pool areas are old and dated, but the beachfront garden area is really a gem. Having beachfront access in Tamarindo is very cool. You can leave your stuff and go exploring on the beach, or take a walk in town. Location-wise, this hotel is perfect. Also because it is set back slightly from the beach, it is very quiet at night. Would definitely recommend staying here rather than the sister property (Daria). It feels like a little family, and there being no kids was perfect for me and my husband. My 2 star quickly grew to a 4 star because of the above mentioned. We might return, but I really hope the hotel upgrades its bedding.…
We LOVED our stay at Jardin del Eden! The staff was so welcoming and went out of their way to serve and please- special thanks to Dorian, Endy and Deiner for going above and beyond to make us feel special. The resort is tucked back off the main street and is so quiet and peaceful yet so conveniently located to the main strip with restaurants and shopping as well as the beach. We will definitely stay here again! Breakfast was amazing and they catered to your wishes, we also ate the included dinners which although choices were limited- EVERY food was amazing, we ate there all but one night when we went to town. Kudos to the chef- thank you! Room was very clean, and resort was clean and well kept. ***Please remember to tip the staff when you stay! These lovely people rely on your travels and your generosity when you visit them.... saw so many people not tipping I was shocked, they are better than any staff at a high end restaurant in the states, show them some generosity!! Thank you Jardin del Eden staff for your wonderful hospitality during our stay. We LOVED the pool area, spent many hours soaking up the sun in the relaxing environment. Also the location was excellent. Overall, fantastic stay, WE WILL BE BACK, and we loved our experience here, well worth the price!! The only small negatives: There were quite a few ants in the outdoor areas, probably due to the hotel being so quiet right now with COVID, they didn't bother us but they were around in the outdoor areas on our patio and by the pool. Probably a Costa Rica problem in general but maybe the resort could remedy this. Also we did get a couples massage by the pool- there are many options for massages down on the main strip that are way cheaper, so we did pay more to do it at the resort but it was very convenient and the therapists did a good job! Not totally private as it is in a cabana area by the pool so I would have been less comfortable if there had been other guests outside enjoying the pool area. Not a huge deal, just worth a mention.…
My wife and I had a BLAST on our trip to Tamarindo staying at Jardin del Eden. We are from NYC and typically stay at premium boutique resorts all over the world that cost $800+/night - this is the only place we have ever returned to. The price to value ratio is the best you will get. - Staff: Mario, Endy, and Daner were amazing hosts for dinner and breakfast. Food is fantastic, drinks are on-point (and a great rate), and the staff was beyond attentive. Dorian (and the other woman who I can’t remember her name) crushed it at the front desk helping me with tours, yoga mats, beach towels, etc. For me, it’s what makes this place great and separates it from competition. - Rooms: The rooms at this hotel are clean and comfortable. Everything that you need. My wife and I always stay in room 6 which is their Romantic Terrace. This come complete with a espresso machine, beautiful ocean view and jacuzzi which we use every night. - Location: While this place isn’t on the beach, it’s a short scenic walk, and they have private location where you can lounge out in sun/shade and view the beautiful ocean. Here you will find private chairs, day beds, surfboard storage, bathrooms, and a shower. Beach bar is closed due to COVID but they bring drinks right to you. If you’re a surfer, both experienced or entry level - Tamarindo is a dream come true. - COVID: This place is extremely safe, open air, and everyone is VERY spaced out. The hotel helped us with testing and had someone come right to our room which was SO convenient. They also set up private tours. I felt wayyy safer than any where I traveled in the US during the pandemic. Overall, Jardin del Eden is really an amazing resort and by far the best place to stay in Tamarindo. We stayed for 8 nights and wish I stayed longer. …
