I stayed at this hotel for a week with my wife and another couple. If you’re looking for a very private and peaceful place to stay, with outstanding service, amazing views, and excellent food, I would highly recommend this hotel. Also, I have never seen a more beautiful beach.

I would like to start with the staff, which was extremely friendly, attentive and professional. Upon our arrival (don’t let the dirt road leading up to the entrance scare you) we were greeted at the front desk by a very friendly and knowledgeable gentleman. I wish I could remember his name. He took the time to explain the hotel amenities along with how to get to the beach and the main strip in Tamarindo. Although there were other guests milling around us, he gave us his undivided attention and made sure that we received our welcome drink and that our bags were taken to our room.

I know I’m going to forget some people, but during our stay we were served in the restaurant and beach bar by Nancy, Endy, Richard, Nathaly, Jose, Cesar, Gerald and Genesis. The restaurant includes breakfast and dinner with your room fee.

The breakfast buffet was amazing and includes an omelette station, fresh fruit, various breads and pastries, fresh juices along with champagne , fresh yogurt and a variety of sides to go with what your served at the omelette station. It is obvious that all of the food is made fresh. It was a great way to start every day. My compliments to the chef and the entire kitchen staff!

At breakfast you are provided with a menu of what is going to be served for dinner. Each night there are a couple of main courses to choose from, along with an appetizer and desert. You also have the option to decline and instead visit some local Tamarindo restaurants, several of which you can charge to your room. We ate dinner at Jardin 3 nights and the service and food was outstanding. We also ate at some restaurants in Tamarindo.

My only complaint with eating in town, was that the service was not the same as what the hotel offered. The food was very good, but on a couple of occasions we experienced slow service.

I would like to give special thanks to Nancy, Endy, Richard, Jose and Cesar. They always provided us with extra special service and always let us know how much they appreciated us being there.

We will definitely be back.

A last minute getaway, we picked this boutique hotel as we liked the location and that it was a smaller hotel with amenities. We were able to walk into town - you walk through a gate and a path to town; to get to the beach you cross the street, thru gate, down another lane to a grassy area with umbrellas and a small pool. Very private. If you have an issue with steps, this is NOT the hotel for you as there are many to get to the various rooms and to the dining area. The architecture is part of the charm as rooms go out in different directions and the property is even built around an old tree in one area.
The service was impeccable - we followed other reviewer's advice and asked for a pillow top as our mattress was too hard. There were also a few small things that needed fixing and the staff was very accommodating. Rooms are clean and have all the little things. We were upgraded to a room with a porch and a hot tub (how fun!) and watched the howler monkeys who came over the roof at around sunset a few evenings. The breakfast is delicious with many choices. While dinner was included, it is limited so we ate there only 3 nights of our week stay. Two of the 3 nights, the food was very good; 1 night not so much to our taste. The staff in the restaurant are great, friendly and had a lot of tips about local places to see including beaches, Sodas and other restaurants. (We love to explore the local places!) The front desk only knows about the side trips offered by the hotel, and would not suggest alternatives. Do NOT go on the snorkeling trip to Catalinas Islands with their trip (or at least ask whether it is only snorkeling; our trip had divers too and the boat left us in deep water!- very unsafe).
Overall we made a great choice in choosing this hotel. Grounds were pretty; room was comfortable; staff was friendly and the location was amazing.

When we booked this hotel, we were deciding between it and the Diria next door. When the driver took the left off of the main Tamarindo road, unto a very bumpy dirt road to get us to our hotel, we were seriously wondering whether we had made a good decision.
As it turns out, the main road, route 152 is really the only paved road in Tamarindo, and the hotel was excellent. It was very quiet. You had to take a long walkway to get to the beach, and you had to then cross 152 to get to their private beachside area. Once there you had lounge chairs and cabanas to sit in and in the 4 days I only saw them full once. There is also a bar and a small pool. Guests can also share with the Hotel Diria facilities which is right next door but we didn’t try.
The room was nice but the only outlets near the bed had lamps and clock radios plugged in so you could not charge your phones or tablets. I brought power strips with me so I had to first unplug the radio to get power for my devices. They served guests both breakfast and dinner and I found the food to be great. Dinner portions were smaller than a restaurant, but you had an appetizer, main course and desert, so no one left hungry. The main course was usually either seafood of beef. You MUST tell them tap water, or they will bring bottled water which they charge you for. Except for the large Foo-Foo drinks, the bar charges were quite reasonable. I had a Guaro Sour and a Tamrindo Sunrise, each around $4. The breakfast selection was not as full as Tabacon, but they did have an omelet station, which also makes perfect fried eggs. They also open up a bottle of sparkling wine so you can start your day with a Mimosa. The dining area was very nice.
If you’re being picked up for an excursion, I would suggest you try to have them get you at the gate on 152 to avoid that bumpy dirt road. It will be faster for you and for the tour company.

Our boutique hotel is a pearl in the heart of Tamarindo, with different spaces to enjoy and relax according to your mood. The walk to our Beach Garden (the beach front area with the bar, plunge pool and beach beds) is less than a mile from the hotel reception, and gives you access to a priviledge and private access to Tamarindo's beach. Thank you for your feedback in regards the outlets, we'll take this feedback into consideration. We take pride in our chef´s talent to prepare the best meals for you to satisfy your palate, and we are happy to read that the mimosas were of your liking. My husband and I stayed at this resort for several days this past week. When you are driving up the bumpy dirt road on your way to the front entrance you will wonder what you’ve just paid for. As you get out of your vehicle or transfer bus and walk into the hotel lobby you quickly realize you’ve made the best decision possible! The view is breathtaking and the lobby area is beautiful! The hotel and grounds are a tropical paradise!! The pools are amazing, one on the grounds of the resort and one at the private beach area that is a short stroll down a tropical path leading to the beach. (watch for monkeys up in the trees along the path) The staff are all so pleasant and helpful!! They truly want your stay to be enjoyable and they are experts at it! The food was fresh and delicious. Breakfast is served buffet style and the choices are plentiful, of course with lots of fresh fruit and local flavors. The bread was FABULOUS! You have a couple options to choose for dinner. I chose the fish most nights and it was delicious each time. Downtown Tamarindo is so close you can walk around town every day if you’d like. It’s a very lively atmosphere and so much fun. We felt very safe. Make sure to grab local coffee, you’ll want to take some home with you. If you want a relaxing tropical vacation Jardin del Eden is the only place, in my opinion, to stay in Tamarindo. We checked out other resorts one afternoon on a golf cart we had rented and decided we had clearly made the BEST choice. There are definitely others that are nice but not like this resort. Make sure you book tours, so many to choose from. Have fun!! Pura Vida!

Pura Vida! First time visitors from the US to CR. Five nights in the Romantic Star room. Our balcony with sitting area, daybed and 89°F jacuzzi was fabulous.
The room is spacious, AC cools the room nicely and the shower is massive and includes a sitting area as well as faucet (to rinse sand off your feet).

Yerling at the spa gave me the best back massage I've ever had (and I get massages monthly).

Endy, Alison and Nancy at the restaurant (La Plumeria) were so friendly and helpful. They knew us by name, greeted us for every meal we went to and were fun, sweet and wonderful.

Breakfast and dinner were always fabulous with plenty of options. Dinner always offered 2 choices for appetizer and main course and 1 option for dessert.
Alcoholic mixed drinks were $8-$12/each

Loved the various pools, daybeds, private pathway down to the main street (several minute walk) and the ocean pool garden had a small pool, daybeds, lounging chairs and bar.
Excellent service from Stephanie and Jasmine at the front desk. They were always quick to respond and very helpful with any need we had.

What a wonderful stay in this exceptional boutique hotel. The rooms and grounds are wonderfully maintained, rooms are clean and spacious with great bathrooms. The pool is spotless with clear water and is a pleasure to cool off in, and big enough to swim in. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, but not intrusive so you feel as if you are in your own paradise. We had half board and the evening meals were all wonderful three courses. The breakfasts were amazing, so much choice from fresh tropical fruits to made on the spot egg dishes of your choice- all watered down with great coffee and Buck’s Fizz/ Mimosas!
We heartedly recommend this hotel. We loved our stay.

We arrived at this hotel after an extraordinary 5 days at the Nayara Resort in Arenal convinced that the standard of service in Costa Rica was one of the best in the world. However, our experience at this hotel ranks as one of the very worst.
From the moment we walked into reception, we were met with unfriendly reception staff, unable and unwilling to do anything to resolve any issues that we had. Rather than a welcoming smile, we were handed a contract explaining all the ways for which one could be fined eg for not returning a beach towel to the correct place. This attitude continued throughout our stay.
With the exception of chef Lorena and a couple of the waiters, any request was a problem, ranging from providing some snack when we ordered a bottle of wine (“snack time was over” and we were talking peanuts!) to informing us of any local restaurants where we could have lunch.
The set dinner (there was no other option) was almost identical every night, the pool had so few loungers that many guests weren’t able to lie by it and worst of all was our check-out experience.
We are both light smokers and were fully aware when we booked that it was a non smoking property. The hotel provided a bench outside in the car park which was their designated spot for sinners. Conveniently, it was very near our room (no 4). We dutifully used the allocated bench at the beginning and end of each day. As a result, we were shocked when upon departure, we were handed a letter by the front desk accusing us of having smoked in our room.
Tamarindo Bay is a beautiful place but steer clear of this hotel if good service is important to you.

ChristinaLK, We are not surprised by your negative comments as you repeatedly threatened our staff with posting a negative review on TripAdvisor. It should be noted, that you yelled at our staff all the time, using inappropriate vocabulary and you even threatened one of our Managers saying that she would regret to have known you. Needless to say that your review is full of false and absurd accusations with the intention to damage our hotel and staff reputation. We are proud of our testimonials and comments we received from our valuable guests, with 95% from 600+ reviews being excellent / very Good; our guests feedback is the best proof of our number one core value: delivering the best customer service and experience to each and every of our guests. Where to begin about this wonderful little gem? Our trip to Taramindo was amazing. The beach, the restaurants, the energy and even the Yoga were top notch in the little surfing village, but our hotel, Jardin Del Eden, was the best boutique hotel I have ever seen! The grounds are spectacular. I believe there was a landscaper on property at all times. The pools were quaint, quiet and as clean as can be! The beach front of the property was perfect. The ingenious way the lounge chairs and tables were situated on soft grass tiers allowed for everyone to have perfect views of the beach and sunset. The staff cared, and it definitely showed by their attentiveness to detail and first class customer service. They arranged our zip line and horseback riding tours in a snap and had great recommendations for local food. The on-site breakfasts and dinners were included in the price and are foodie approved! We particularly appreciated that it was an adult only and smoke free property. We will be back to Tamarindo soon and we will return to hotel Jardine del Eden! I wish I could come back next week!

Love JDE, so when I booked a yoga retreat closer to Nosara, I knew I wanted to bookend my retreat there.

We have always stayed in either the Premium or Premium Plus rooms, both have nice views of the palm trees, ocean and sunset (esp. PP) from an elevated position. These days, when we are all trying to minimize contact, it's especially nice to have a room with such a view from a spacious balcony.

The friendly staff welcomed me back with an amazing fruit plate and bottle of sparkling wine, which was very much appreciated after a long trip from Canada.

Speaking of the staff, they are all extremely lovely. Kelly and D. Duran at the front desk were always very friendly and helpful. Endy at the restaurant/bar was especially welcoming to me (I was travelling alone and that was very much appreciated), and made the best mohitos I've ever had! He also knew I love fresh fruit and brought me out some INCREDIBLE mango one day. The gentleman who manages the restaurant at night was also very welcoming and friendly. I felt like I was in my second home :).

I also felt incredibly safe as a solo female traveller, and the hotel was meeting or exceeding all CR requirements for COVID protocols.

I'm always a bit skeptical of the quality when food is included... but not at JDE. Breakfast is fresh and yummy, and the dinner service equals or betters most of the restaurants in Tama.

If you are looking for a bit of peace, beautiful surroundings and great service while being close to the "bustle" of Tama, definitely book here!!!

We went with a group of 6 couples and all of us concurred about how perfect the Jardin del Eden was. Everything about it made for a relaxing getaway. The grounds were beautiful, the pools were wonderful, the grassy area near the beach had plenty of lounge chairs and made for a great place to read, have a drink from the beachbar, and chill out between dips in the ocean. Our room was very nice and included a large bathroom and a very nice balcony that we sat on during the evening. I was a little hesitant ahead of time to stay at a place that included dinner as I had heard that Tamarindo had great restaurants. However, I shouldn't have worried one bit! The food was fantastic! The breakfast buffet was plentiful, healthy, and generous. It included lots of fresh fruit, an omelet station, yogurts and cereals, fresh bakery (including yummy coconut bread!) and different hot items every day. The dinners included a choice of salad or soup, an entree, and a dessert. Everything was beautifully prepared and presented and delicious. We were all very happy with the food and commented on the fact that portion sizes were excellent so that we didn't feel stuffed afterwards. And saving the best for last, the service at Jardin del Eden was impeccable. Everyone went out of their way to be friendly, kind, and helpful to our large group. We especially enjoyed Genesis in the dining room. She was so kind and helped to arrange a special dinner (for 12) in our room so that we could watch a football playoff game. Nothing seemed too much for them to handle. We would highly recommend this resort and actually already have done so to our friends that didn't go with us. It was a superb getaway!
