When arriving we were just planning to stay 1-2 nights as Lonely Planet was recommending this place in the area. In the end we stayed 5 or 6 nights, not sure anymore about the exact amount as the distance to the beach, the swimming, the pool and the host have been very welcoming and made our stay very good. The big open kitchen on the ground floor is perfect for cooking outside and socialise with other travelers. Make sure you get a room on the 1st or second floor so you have your own little space/balcony.

Me and my family have always loved to stay at Brisa del Mar, clean rooms, well maintained property ,easy access and very friendly hosts! Brian and Mason are amazing , have a lot of experience in surfing town Hermosa.

My family stayed here for our last four nights on our travelling trip in Costa Rica . Brian and his son mason were chilled relaxed and welcoming hosts . Great pool to chill by, kitchen to use if needed. We felt safe and mellow here and it has a great vibe and such a reasonable price . Best price we found in Costa Rica with the best atmosphere . Ideal for surfers or anybody wanting a chill time .thanks guys for our last four days in this amazing country ❤️

I’ve been going to Hotel Brisa Del Mar for many years and never had a bad experience, until now. When we first got there we noticed the door lock wasn’t working properly. We asked a staff member to help us figure out to close it. She showed us how to lock it. We went out at night and made sure the door was locked (especially since the lock had problems in first place). When we got back we noticed our electronics were missing. The next morning we let the staff members know what had happened, including the owner Brian. To our surprise, he showed very little sympathy and willingness to fix this issue in any way. We’re very disappointed in this behavior since the hotel should be held responsible.

Very sorry for what happened. There is a sign on the door to always keep your door locked. There was no sign of break in which means you must of left it unlocked and how can I be held responsible for your negligence?

just returned from surf trip/family vacation at playa hermosa at jaco; hotel brisa del mar is hands down the best place to find a stoked surfing family environment; we enjoyed comfortable accommodations for my family of five in the heart of legendary playa hermosa- with surf breaks within minutes to match every skill level. Brians conscientiousness and professional approach to everything he has created make this place a MUST experience!! All the amenities of the more expensive options- but on a SOUL surfer budget..check it out! kristian mckeever and family

I stayed at Brisa del mar for three weeks. The AC was cold and the shower was hot. The wifi was fast and the place was quite. The price was great for the proximity to the beach (30 second walk) there is a small but never crowded outdoor kitchen which is always clean. These are all attributes I expect from a hotel I am staying in for this long. What exceeded my expectation were the people. I watched the owner of this hotel, Brian, invite a mentally handicapped homeless man into the communal area, and personally made the man a sandwich. You can get a bed anywhere. Here you will find truly kind compassionate people worthy of spending time with.
