First off the staff does not explain much of anything upon arrival and does not speak English which is fine. Just at least offer a printout in English. Absolutely no light to get around at night, sanitation is subparate best there's mold all over the shower The floors are slippery and oil all over the glass stall. As for the mini bar you get one beer and one high ball glass. This does not cater to tourists at all I believe this is for just locals. You are required to eat at the main restaurant which is only a buffet, of the SAME food everyday, served in DISGUSTING steam tables. The desserts are piled in a small refrigerator case that is dripping directly on a power outlet and a bucket of water. I do not believe safety is a concern here or sanitation. I will not say the rooms are outdated but more damaged than outdated. The whole "required to make reservations at 7am and pre order food for your evening meal is not only weird but they didn't even let me do that. Don't let the photos fool you; all inclusive ? Not interested in coming back here EVER

First trip to CR. We arrived late evening on 11/10/23 and weren’t given the required wristbands by the front desk so that caused a lot of questions by other staff the next day. We had to go back to the front desk, which is up a huge hill, and the same employee acted like we were lying about not receiving the wristbands but we did eventually get them. We went for dinner that same night and the food was just ok, nothing great. Pinto rice, chicken, salad, that type of thing. Every time we ate at their main restaurant (by the pools) the food was basically the same. Again, it wasn’t bad but nothing spectacular. Mostly very plain and the breakfast was by far better than their lunch or dinner. BUT. RACCOONS. The raccoons regularly walked around the dining area and one of them bit the same customer twice, once on the hand and once on the leg. The restaurant manager, Oscar, basically told us “it is what it is” about the raccoons. Oscar was a whole other story and at our second dinner there tried to trick me into tipping twice for the same meal (once on my credit card and also wanted cash) and backpedaled real fast when he figured out I know more Spanish than he and his employee assumed I do. Oscar would speak to me using close to perfect English and then talk about the American and Canadian customers (including us) in Spanish. I’m just a middle aged white lady from the states but I know enough Spanish to get by fairly well. So, kind of an oops for Oscar. The room? We stayed at the 500 level in a 1 bedroom/1 bath, room was ok but very dated. Livable and mostly clean but if you’re picky you may not like it there. WiFi was only accessible up at the reception area and close to non-existent in the room with the exception of picking up the occasional 3G Claro signal. We got better reception down at Playa Hermosa or up at the front lobby. Not very convenient but our stay was only for a week so we survived. Don’t stay there if you need to work remotely from your room because it won’t work out whatsoever unless you basically live at the front desk area. The room was kept very clean by Ana-Li and she was very welcoming and nice. Be warned the room provided utensils even while clean are pretty used looking and gross. One of the cooking utensils fell apart while I was stirring noodles in a pot. Despite the fact the utensils were actually clean (if you looked close) they were so worn that all the same they still looked dirty. Wear water shoes when you take a shower or you might slip on the tile afterwards. While many of the friendly employees made up for some of the resort’s negatives, we absolutely wouldn’t stay there again. The view of Playa Hermosa was ok from the restaurant but not really anywhere else. We occasionally walked the very steep hills at the resort but mostly took the shuttle to get around. The shuttle came around pretty often but I like to be able to walk a resort, not deal with high endurance exercise every time we needed or wanted to do pretty much anything. The beach is nice and clean, not terribly crowded, but you get the idea after a visit or two. It was by far cleaner than the beach at Coco Beach. Randall and Tony are the most helpful (they work at Condovac for Costa Rica Unique) and in particular Randald was great and his English is excellent. I speak a lot of Spanish but when I had a complicated transportation issue to work out it was nice to have an employee there who was fluent in English; he got everything sorted for us. Many of the employees spoke no English at all so that could be an issue for some travelers. If you stay there and take a tour, try to take the River tour on a day Carlos is working. He also works for Costa Rica Unique and is an excellent tour guide. All of the negative issues were all attributed to Condovac itself, not the Costa Rica Unique employees as they were all great.

The views are amazing but its hard to enjoy the views when you're surrounded by flee written cats. That have grown accustomed to being fed so they try to rub against you like house cats. My wife & I spent a large part of our vacation shoewing them away. Yet we still ended up with flee bitten ankles. The staff was friendly, food was edible, No wifi in the rooms. The cats are why we would never return.

We had such a wonderful experience at Condo Vac!! It’s located close to the beach, the food was excellent, the people were very welcoming and it felt like home. My favourite part was the animals and the birds waking up to greet us at breakfast each morning. You can literally feed birds out of your hand! The staff there are wonderful and they were interested in helping us learn Spanish which was a great relief! Very hospitable, kind, people with down to earth mindsets and great attitude. We LOVED IT HERE!!!

This was an all inclusive resort that was actually great for the money. All you can eat and drinks included. Food was decent. Not gourmet but very good. It offered lots of pool and food and the room was near the beach. While there is a hill to climb there is a shuttle for if you can’t walk the hill. The beach is ok in a cove. People are very nice. The room is older but clean enough. Nothing special. Don’t lose a towel it will cost $20. Overall great for spring break with teenagers

Talk to Randald Picado at Costa Rica Unique. He’s The Tour Guy at Condovac La Costa. Great service! We had so much fun as a family of four. We would love to return. I’m still trying to convince my family we should move to Costa Rica!! Well, maybe when the kids are older…

All the other reviews everyone else has wrote about this resort are being nice that gave them a 1 out of 5 , if I could have gave them a 0 out of five I would have , everything everyone else has said about this resort is true times 10 , avoid this resort at all costs unless your goal is to waste your money and have a horrible time , if that is your goal then book right away because this is the perfect resort for you

I am currently at the Condovac now ,9/6/23 and have been here since 9/1/23 but wishing I had returned to Texas from the moment I got here. Deep sigh, I don't even know where to begin. From the moment we arrived and received the keys we toted all of our luggage's up 18 stairs only to get to the door and the key not work because the door locks were so old and rusted , we had to wait for maintenance to arrive who still was not able to open the door while we had a raccoon to visit us on the porch. The food here is horrible , it's disgusting, they serve the same food for breakfast and lunch everyday. The utensil are not clean , the buffet in which the food is set up on I s extremely dirty and unsanitary, the smell surrounding the food is as if the stations had not been cleaned . The ice buckets they use to serve the drinks are mildewed and disgusting several times I have had bugs in my drinks . The dining area is infested with nats, and flies and the birds steal the food of your plates while the iguanas, and cats take a stroll through while everyone is eating .Upon talking to the kitchen manager in regards to the issues and food choices , he was very blunt and rude in telling me that the accommodations are made for the locals ONLY and the food provided is what they eat everyday , he went further to say foreigners only make up 10% of the revenue so they are not going to make such accommodations for Americans . After that comment We proceeded to talk to the manager of the entire resort because we felt very uncomfortable and unwelcomed . We paid $1600 for an ALL Inclusive stay but yet everyday we have to buy food else where because the food here is not edible. The manager told me that was my opinion and he refused to give us any refunds and basically had , the "it is what it is attitude." He gave us a email to reach out to the board. There is no WiFi like they advertise, we lost electricity today and sat in the room sweating for almost two hours with no real explanation or accommodations being made for ALL the inconveniences. Their are no phones in the rooms to connect to the front desk , so if you don't have service you have to go outside, wait for a shuttle to pick you up and drop you at the front desk and wait for them to pick you up again to bring you back to your room EVERYTIME you need something. It's annoying. As it's very difficult to walk the resort due to how far things are , the heat , and the elevation. The furniture in the rooms are extremely outdated . I had to take a shower with slides on because the sanitation is not up to par. Literally the rooms have not been updated in centuries. It's definitely not what's being advertised. However some of the staff are amazing friendly individuals, and the scenery is unmatched I just can not believe that we spent $1600 of our hard earned dollars on this I just can't believe it . It's sooo disappointing. The area is super expensive so be careful because the stores and restaurants definitely practice price gouging for tourist or attempt to give you less value for the money you have converted. Overall experience of my stay I wish I could give them a -0 but thankfully we were able to adjust our flights to shorten our stay . Would never recommend this Resort to anyone especially if your from America . Find somewhere else to stay where they would value you just as they do everyone else . They provide NO accommodations for us but definitely accommodations for our money . And it's quite sad.

Condo vac all inclusive resort , is very private, beautiful, and relaxing. The people are very friendly and helpful; however, the food is horrible. They serve the same thing for every meal, which wouldn’t be so bad if the food was tasteful. Their food has no flavor and falls very flat, I ate out of the resort almost every single meal, which defeats the purpose of staying in an all inclusive resort. I talked to the manager , just to give him some opinions and suggestions from many guests that we talked to that also felt the same about the food they served. I was basically told that my opinion didn’t matter, because the majority of people that come here are Costa Ricans and that they wouldn’t accommodate foreigners. Not sure about y’all, but customers are number and as a resort, you should be able to take criticism and suggestions. I didn’t ask for the menu to be re done, just make it flavorful and enjoyable to eat. I will never come back here for that one reason, I will take my foreigner money else where.
