Make sure this is for you. This is very much hostel-type accommodation. Rooms are spartan but clean. We booked for four nights as part of a dive package. We knew there was no air con or hot water but thought it would be fine. The water was no problem but it was too hot to sleep, even with two fans going full-blast. It was a bigger problem for me as I was not diving. The beach across the road is not great, very pebbly and with nothing to sit on I made only one trip. Discovered on the third day that we could pay $20 to use the pool at the Palmas around the corner (and offset that with F&B). Thank God! We ended up checking in there for the final night (small rooms but with AC).
This place exceeded my expectations. For the price, it was more than worth the money! Also Ana was amazing! I can not say enough nice things about her, but she went out of her way to help me when she didn’t need to, & she is so lovely too despite how annoying I was, but she really went above & beyond! She definitely deserves a raise that’s for sure. Thank you Ana!! I had such a good night sleep here too, slept like a baby for at least 10 hours one night! I felt like I was living in luxury compared to the dorms & hostel life I had been experiencing prior to this place. Amazing location! You could not be any closer to the beach unless you were actually on top of the sand! So happy there was fans & no aircon! Even got free towels, a TV with Netflix in the room & a mini bar fridge, & breakfast was included! Super impressed! Cool chill out spot upstairs looking right at the beach. & they have recycling here too! Really impressed by this place.…
This was our first lodging on our first trip to Costa Rica. Although arriving late due to evening flight arrival and rental car check-in, we were met by the security guard who settled us into the room and gave us our tickets for breakfast the next morning. The rooms hasten back to the time before cookie cutter branded facilities that lack any kind of local ambiance. The room was very clean and, although there was no AC, the screened open windows, sound of the beach waves and large ceiling fan kept us very comfortable. The included breakfast offered choices other than the classic gallo pinto, but "when in Rome" why have anything else. Service was excellent with English speaking servers and service desk personnel. The beach is right across the street and given the hotel is just a half a block from the end of the street, there were no real traffic issues. The in-room refrigerator was helpful and the common area had an available gas barbecue for guests to use. This was a wonderful place to stay and is a place that we will return to on future trips to Costa Rica.…
I moved from another hotel where my and my friend were treated poorly and boy am I happy I did move! This place has old-school charm and coziness in every corner. What a beautiful treasure cove. Place is just opposite the beach, centrally located close to everything yet quiet and people have a chilled attitude. Despite not being a hostel it has a backpacker vibe. Very easy to socialize here. Staff is super courteous, special thanks to Noemie, what a gem of a girl. Hardworking and still always smiling and helpful. Reception is open all day til 9pm (sometimes if they are busy somewhere they close it for short while but are still around the house). They also have a phone number where you can reach them at any time if you need something. I specially liked the wood floor on the corridors, the open terrace upstairs with fantastic Seaview (you can have breakfast here). You have different choices for breakfast (one of few places that actually offer Granola and yogurt if you want). Breakfast from 7 until 10, so you can have a lie in if you like. Fans are strong, can be regulated to your liking (3 speeds). Tv works perfect, beds are nice, rooms are spacious. There is a shared kitchen guest can use, ask for it, it's small and a little hidden. We'll stocked with a powerful blender, big fridges, microwave. Filtered tap water is available, unlimited and free. The place is super clean and they have protocols in place to make people feel safe yet without adding stress to their holiday. The only downside of this place is: wifi is week, same as the sea "it comes and goes in waves". And no safe in the room but am pretty sure you can trust nobody will touch anything (cleaning is on request, so up to you) Also if you ask for sure they can store your valuable somewhere whilst you are away. Water from shower is not too cold, just right temperature to refresh. Tip for solo travellers: if you book directly you get cheaper rates then the ones you find on internet. They might even give you a large family room for same price. At least that's has been experience. Gourmet tip: try the delicious food of "Le Coq" , they do free delivery and you can eat it on the terrace of the hotel, watching the ocean. Soo good. Tour tip: Ask for Coco Fishing, they are on site and do great sailing trips. Came for 1 night, stayed 4. Thank you, I had a blast.…
Stayed at this hotel for a few weeks excellent staff and managenent, The fishing guide Aundre and his good woman Jose were excellent, 🙏, I was afraid of the sea but aundre has spent his entire life out at sea has excellent knowledge and knowing where to fish and places to visit,. You will be taken excellent care of provided with food, water, and all you need to know about the ocean and its life, The caves and beeches are on a diffrent level and with this man and his woman you will have an amazing experience hands down, If you come to this hotel make sure you take a day trip with this pair sit back and enjoy the pristine beeches, great fishing, wildlife, views, and so much more 🙏 excellent 👊
This hotel one of few (or only?) beach front hotels in coco beach. I was very lucky to stay in ocean view room but also the chairs set for facing to the beach for everyone. It was very relaxing and peaceful. The room was very clean and the staffs were helpful. Their breakfast was also nice that I can choose from some options. If I go back I will stay here. I went there for diving and staying here was great for it.
Probably the only beach front hotel in downtown Playa del Coco. It’s affordable, clean and with nice rooms and a wonderful ocean view from the first floor. Only cold showers but who cares in the Costa Rican heat :-) Breakfast is good and staff very service minded.
We stayed at the Beach House and very much enjoyed our stay. This is not a fancy hotel, but it is a basic place to sleep, steps to the beach, in the perfect little town with a delicious breakfast included for a very reasonable price. We opted to use their transportation service from the Liberia airport to the hotel. The driver was waiting at the arrivals door with my name on a sign and was very pleasant to drive with, despite the late hour. Check in was smooth. Our room was basic but clean and had a fridge. The breakfast was superb (included). You can sit on the main floor or you can go to the upstairs deck to eat. The location is perfect - beach is literally across the road and the town is a little walk away. When it was time to leave, the gentleman at reception was very helpful and arranged for one of his family members to drive us the 30 minutes to the next location! It was so sweet. Overall, I would highly recommend staying here if you are in Playas del Coco. Coco is a great starting point if you are flying into the Liberia Airport but don't want to stay in Liberia. We stayed in Coco for 2 days only and used it as a jump off point to adventure down the Pacific Coast. I would definitely stay here again if I return to the area. Thanks M&M Beach House!…
Super close to the beach. Rooms do not have AC but do have Multiple fans.. I believe this use to be a hostel but now they call it a 'hotel' in fact there is a sign out front that says hostel. However you won't find a closer spot to the beach. There is a top balcony area with hammocks, tables and benches where you can lay out, chill and listen to the ocean which makes this place worth staying at. Close to food/restaurants. Stayed here for two nights after flying into Liberia. Quick short drive from Liberia and your near the water.
What great value ... very rustic (but not too!!!!) with a real Tico feel. Excellent rooms and beds, great breakfast, fantastic location!!! Right on the beach (across the road) on a dead end street and about 100 meters to the main street with all the shops / restaurants. Lovely staff and ambiance. Only ceiling fans in the room, no A/C ... but that adds to the charm. Great beach and ocean views from the front veranda and balcony all across the front of the building. Great value!!!!
