This traditional Tico motel (not a resort - not a hotel!) was bare minimum, slightly better than a hostile but the price at almost $38/night was NOT worth it.
Some of the trip adviser reviews are very misleading, do not be fooled like we were – There is no closet, no phone, no refrigerator, no microwave, no coffee maker, no hair dryer, no safe, no fire alarm/smoke detector, and no one spoke English. The bed was a mat (not a mattress) on a wooden platform. The motel is just feet from the main road and you can hear all of the traffic all day and all night causing disturbances in sleep as the heavy trucks pass by and cars honk their horn’s.
There were mosquitoes and ants in the room. The mosquitoes ate me up! We visited in low season and the pool had no water in it and the restaurant was closed and the shower pressure was almost nonexistent
The toilet overflowed and took more than 4-hours to get maintenance out to fix it.
It is a half mile walk to the town and beach. There are few sidewalks and you have to walk in the road to get to where the food and activities are locate. The sun sets a 6:30pm sharp. There are no street lights when you walk back to the motel at the end of the day. Bring a flashlight!
We will never stay here again and do not recommend this motel

We needed a place just to sleep for the night in Coco and this hotel, although a little dated, was just fine for our needs. The room was spacious and clean and the workers were very nice.
It is a bit from the beach and downtown, but close to grocery.
For the price, it was worth staying.

Llegamos el 30 a el Coco de turistas sin hotel. Fue el unico sitio donde encontramos una habitacion. Al principio un poco de miedo por las malas reseñas. El precio no era muy bajo pero no hubo otra opcion. El personal estab un poco a su bola pero nos trataron bien. Ningun problema con el casino ni nada de eso. La jnica pega es que no hay servicio y que en nuestra habitacion se oía el trágico denla calle principal. Un taxi a la playa cuesta solo 1,000 colones. La habitacion esta bien equipada pero no le llevaba el Wifi. Nos hizo el apaño, aunque no sería nuestra primera opcion en El Coco.

We have visited Coco Beach many times over the years and stayed in many different hotels. It seems like there is some renovation happening here. Our room was spacious, was equipped with a good mini fridge, new air conditioner, flat screen t.v., with cable, and a safe. All worked great. There were a few t.v. channels in English - CBS and CNN. The water pressure in many Coco hotels is often an issue. Some days it was at Flor de Itabo as well. This causes the hot water to take a while to make its way through the pipes. Luckly, the water is really lukewarm, so our shower, at worst, was tolerable. The room was kept clean enough, the staff was friendly. The hotel is right off the main road and can be a bit noisy, but traffic does slow way down at bedtime.
The walk to the beach takes approx. 23 minutes. The path to town is partially dirt, partially sidewalk, partially road shoulder. Take a flashlight if you are walking after 6 p.m. The restaurant was not open during our stay. Over all we were satisfied with our 2 week stay here.

Como es posible que haga una reserva para el día 31 y 1 de enero en una habitación para 6 personas con precio de 70 mil colones, y que me digan que: " si su reserva esta lista". Me llamen a las 2 horas una muchacha llamada Maricruz después y me diga " no puedo darle esa habitación, le puedo dar 2 pero a precio de 43 mil colones cada una" , o sea 16 mil colones más que la otra por noche ! Luego trato de buscar una solución y el personal demasiado incapaz ( me contesto una Anita y un tal Marco) para ayudar y lo único que dijeron fue " mañana lo llamamos para ver qué se pudo hacer ". Por Dios, como que que van hacer si ya tenían mi reserva. Y la cereza del pastel es que me llamaron para decir que no me podían dar la habitacione, ni la primera que pedí, ni las 2 con descuento ! Con qué clase de seriedad toman al cliente ? Aunque a juzgar por sus reseñas asumo q esta gente es de " ver, quedarse cayado y no buscar soluciones " . Muy poco recomendado y espero a futuro se tome más en cuenta a quienes los mantienen en pie .

We went this place last year and was a good deal, we got a big room per 40 us dolars... the hotel has a nice swimming pool and gardens. we had breakfast at the tiny restauran and was good the service was normal..

Había visitado este Hotel unos años atrás y fui solo por una noche, pero realmente fue decepcionante. El hotel no había mucha gente y con razón, las instalaciones están en total abandono, no tiene servicios de absolutamente nada, el hotel y la habitación en estado deplorable, sucio, sin agua caliente. El servicio del Check In muy deficiente, la persona no sabía buscar la reservación y luego no sabía usar la tarjeta para el pago. Realmente fue una decepción. En la noche había mucho ruido.

Es una buena opción en cuanto a relación precio/ ubicación / comodidad. La mayoría de opciones de hospedaje en esta zona es sumamente alto por loq ue considero que esta es una excelente opción y más si se viaja con un grupo de amigos, cuenta con piscina y las habitaciones von amplias y cuenta con parqueo privado. Están abriendo un casino, para los que les gusta el juego nocturno!

Guests can relax in the shade of the garden ranches, and talk night wild monkeys of the neighboring trees. The afternoon, large flocks of parrots circle above the grounds of the hotel. The rooms are comfortably furnished and have all the amenities you expect in a hotel of good quality.
