This is a nice budget accommodation at perfect location. Walking distance to Coco downtown where you can find hundreds of restaurants, bars, shops... same as it is 5 minutes walk to the beach. Yet located on a quiet side street.
My wife and I stayed here with another couple for three nights. Overall it was fine but our room was pretty small. Felt secure with as the gate is locked and monitored. Pool was small but refreshing, towels lacking. Breakfast was basic but filling. A bit of a walk into the main part of town (which was a good thing, less noisy). All in all we enjoyed our stay here.
me and my friend sleep here 3 nights. They did not feel it necessary to say there is no hot water in the room to shower! I told to the manager that last night was cold wather so we cant shower here, she said that all the time the wather is hot here so they dont need hot water. Im didnt agree. every Hostel or Hotel was with hot water , is it base. moreover , the place is nice and the pool is nice. the brackfast is not very good.
The hotel has only small dark rooms downstairs. Upstairs a bit brighter. The have a small pool. We booked for 3 nights. The guy there speak only Spanish which it made very complicated to communicate. Then we had to cancel the our booking on booking.com and must pay cash 85 USD/night for a room with 2 double beds. As we realized that they have only cold water, we canceled straight. For us it was too pricy for what we get. We wouldn’t recommend this place.
This place has a lot of potential but honestly it should be closed to the public at this time. Laura the owner is extremely nervous about the pandemic and makes you feel like you are not welcome but rather a potential risk for her health. Right upon arrival we had to undergo a full interview, about our origins, where we were travelling from, since when and for how long and why we are travelling... We were also questioned if we are fully vaccinated. Felt like we were applying for a job or residency or even being questioned by the police as potential criminals. I never asked if her pets are vaccinated, if she showered properly before coming to meet us or asked personal question about her ideologies. She behaved entilted, with discriminatory scrutinity, even insisted about my origins, as my accent is "strange" and my skin colour is dark. Also she sprayed everything we touched with alcohol literally soaking it wet, even though we had already washed our hands and used the gel. She lectured us at the importance of wearing the mask inside the hotel premise at all times, about not touching surfaces if not necessary etc. It felt odd as she had opened the gate to welcome us without wearing the mask (she put it on later), also at the same time a member of her staff walked past without a mask. This happened on the next morning also so it was not just a casual coincidence. As she is so apprehensive about health&safety protocols we recommend she should first instruct her staff to set specific standards and give an example. Also as we are in a pandemic and travelling around just for fun is so irresponsible she should make it clear what type of visitors she actually expects to have. I think she doesn't want any visitors at all, she just still wants their money. Positive: The young guy serving at the restaurant is really nice and helpful. Very respectful and service oriented. The place where you have breakfast is cozy and shaded. Breakfast is nothing special, just the tipical basic one, no fresh fruit, but it's sufficient. The pool is clean and in general premise in good maintenance. WiFi works well, as does the air con. Close distance to the beach. Private parking. Negative: Attitude of the owner, very discriminatory. Checkin time from 14 - 17pm only, very little margin and not a travellerer-friendly approach. Specifically so as this is not very clear until after you have booked. Same goes with the hot water, no info until arrival that there is only cold water for the shower. Hardly any water pressure, difficult to wash long hair. No space in bathroom, it's really tiny. Very un practical. Place is located between roadside building site and abandoned building with stale water im their pools, hence lots of toads and frogs and insects. Also many barking dogs It's VERY LOUD at night, so bring earplugs. For above reasons will certainly not return. But recommend for people would like to pay for being lectured and educated before being granted access to their holiday home.…
Good location, friendly reception, nice room with everything you need. Good breakfast and competitive pricing. Walking distance to city center and to the beach, nice pool and garden. We spent two nights there and felt welcome and at home.
Very nice hotel. Room`s are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is also very good. Owner is very friendly and helpful. Beach and all the services are near. This was our second time in Laura`s House. If we are coming back to Coco beach some day we will definitely stay in Laura`s House.
We spent two night at Laura's House in March 2019. We really enjoyed our stay! The property was very tidy, with clean and comfortable rooms. The pool was lovely and breakfasts were very good. Laura also had two absolutely precious dogs that occasionally visited with us. She was incredibly accommodating. The rest of the staff too were very kind and patient with my poor Spanish. Yes, they do not accept credit cards. There is also no hot water. But for the price, this place is incredibly economical and comfortable.
Really nice place. Can’t be cleaner than this, room is made everyday. Nice pool, very clean too. Basic breakfast is included, typical gallo pinto. Parking, a/c, fridge. One thing : no hot water (or pressure) in the shower. One minute walk from the beach and maybe 3-4 minutes walk from the main street. Would definitely go back.
We stayed for over a week and enjoyed Laura's house very much. It's clean, friendly, simple, and a minute walk from the beach, 5 minutes from the main street, 5 minute walk to, in our opinion, the best coffee in town!
