The Westin resort was awesome! A lot of wildlife to see. It was spread out and felt safe. We had some issues with our air conditioning but the rest of was so good. Food and drinks were great. Beach was perfect. The pool was huge and never seemed too crowded. Temperature was very hot all the time, even the water temps were warm. The sailing & snorkeling excursion with Serendipity was a fav. The snorkeling & food were fabulous. We booked a rainforest, coffee & chocolate farm, and a sloth tour with Erik on that beach. He was very helpful and the excursion was fantastic. We saw sloths, toucans, poisonous frogs, vipers and learned so much about Costa Rica . We very much enjoyed our week and would stay at the Westin again.

We had a wonderful experience at the Westin on our first ever trip to Costa Rica. The Westin is about an hour from the Liberia airport and even though we stayed there over Memorial Day and the resort was fairly full, the property is spread out and it never felt that busy. This is a great choice for families and couples who are looking for a relaxing all inclusive experience. We absolutely loved the sandy beach here and spent most of our time in the warm clear water and gentle waves. A few things to note that others may not have covered in recent reviews: Service was generally excellent. Costa Rica’s motto of pura vida was on display almost everywhere as the employees work hard, are proud of their country and are happy to answer questions and engage with visitors. Tipping is not required, but is appreciated and we found we received even better service. For example, we tipped housekeeping beginning on our first day and they called us every day after that to ask what time we wanted to have our room cleaned. The only inconsistent service was at the front desk where they have some young and inexperienced (but friendly) employees working. We lost a key on the beach, walked all the way to the front desk in the early afternoon to get a replacement and were told that the one person on the property who can make keys was not available and we would have to come back later because they could not bring us one. Usually not a big deal, but the resort is huge and the front desk was a long way from the beach and our room! Food was generally good with lots of fresh and healthy options available. Faisanela(International with a Costa Rican flair) and Spirula (Italian) were our favorites. The buffet is called Mitra market and it’s the only place you can eat dinner other than room service if you don’t have reservations in advance. Make sure to download the app in order to make dinner reservations in advance of your stay. Room service was okay, but keep in mind they will come by your room to get the tray about 30-45 minutes after it is delivered and are diligent about collecting all leftover food or other room service items. There are lots of bugs and critters on the property and they want to keep them out of the rooms! Marriott platinum status gave us access to the club area and because one of our kids is under 18, we had access to the family area at the pool as well. Don’t miss the club lounge which has a full premium bar, coffee machine and snacks available throughout the day. We used Erik Garcia on the beach to book a trip to La Leona waterfall and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him. Communication was excellent and we loved the short hike and swim in the river to get to a beautiful waterfall. Our family loved the trip and our guide Jonathan kept us safe and informed on the plants, trees and animals native to the area. The trip included a traditional Costa Rican meal at a restaurant in Liberia that was a highlight of the trip. La Leona was about 1.5 hours each way from the Westin, but other excursions are much further so make sure you understand how far the activities are from the hotel to avoid spending most of the day in route. Overall, we enjoyed the Westin Conchal Beach and look forward to a return visit.

We arrived at Westin and the staff at front desk went above and beyond to accommodate us on June 3rd 2023 around 4:30 PM I will like to say the girl who went out of her way Marilyn! Thank You ! She took care of us along with her time ! It was very complicated since we used a Travel Agency ! Also at tired and hungry we just walked in to a restaurant not realizing that we should have an reservation but oh boy these folks when they heard what we have been through Dayan Ortiz, Anthony Peraza and Geovanny Angulo went way beyond the expectation to provide us an excellent service not only they found us an table without reservation but took care of all of us very well. I will highly recommend this hotel and their staff the experience was very theraputic, I am a Bonvoy member and also a Hyatt member this experience have changed my royalty for sure ! Thank You all ! true Pura Vida experience !

Wonderful place to stay in Costa Rica 🇨🇷 We stayed in a junior family suite enjoyed the proximity to all the restaurants, shops, pools, and beach access. The staff was very accommodating when we realized some of the couples we traveled with had been booked in the adults only area of the property. We wanted to be close together and close to all the amenities and they made it happen. Golf cart rides are always available to get you around the massive property. I definitely recommend staying in the family area for it’s convenient location. Lots of delicious food options. My favorite was Bamboo (asian cuisine). Mitra Market was great and offered many types of food including traditional Costa Rican cuisine. There are so many fun activities to do on the property, but we wanted to go on an excursion to find some adventure. There are many vendors on the beach that swarm you as soon as you walk on the sand. We talked to Erik Garcia and he set us up on an amazing day trip to La Leona Waterfall. Erik is easy to find and comes highly recommended. Just look for the blue shirt! So many fun activities to experience Pura Vida! There is so much wildlife at the resort. Howler monkeys, iguanas, geckos, just to name a few.

Second time writing this review...not sure why it got deleted? Anyway, our week at the Westin Reserva Conchal experience rated from great to good. Property is gorgeous! About 45 minutes or so by car from Liberia Airport. Lovely layout with trees, plants, and flowers, a stunning beach, and well laid out trails between rooms, restaurants, reception, and beach. Look for iguanas, coati, and howler monkeys on the property. Two lovely pools and definitely recommend the Westin Club if you are looking for adults only vibe. It is not party central. Quite a few families and pretty mellow nightlife. Employees were excellent though sometimes inconsistent. Huge kudos to Andres at Faisanella, Kevin at Westin Club pool - they were exceptional. Friendly, helpful, and bent over backwards to make our stay lovely. We had an issue with a Cauri restaurant reservation one night. We showed up and Cauri was closed in spite of our confirmed reservation (on the WRC app). Went to reception for help. No help. Could not reach the manager on call by phone and were not able to get any other reservations. Between that experience and two others in which we were told one thing but they turned out to be incorrect, it was inconsistent. Most of our staff experiences were top notch…don’t want to let the bummers overcome the positive. The other Costa Ricans were amazing friendly and kind! Food/restaurants were really good. Fruit was outstanding! Great food at Faisanella, Bamboo, and Manglar. Excellent service at all three with wide array of choices and beautifully prepared/served. Excellent food at Spirula but terrible service - worst we had all week. Mitra Market was fine. Good selection in buffet/cafeteria setting. Great beach. Just beautiful with lovely light blue water! Not terribly clear for snorkeling but we had angel fish swimming around us one afternoon and water was warm! Westin folks set up umbrellas and beach loungers plus towels were amply available. Same situation at the pool. Lots of lounge chairs and towels available with wait staff serving drinks and food. They made it wonderful and easy! Spots with sun and shade and not packed in May so you didn’t need to go reserve spots in the morning. Good gym - good variety of exercise machines, weight machines, and free hand weights with other assorted equipment. Didn’t play golf but it was a nice looking course. Tour options and transportation were available through concierge. This was really helpful. Half day trip to Tamarindo was inexpensive and easy. Nice little surf town with lots of tourist options for shops, bars, restaurants and easy transportation back and forth from Westin. But the insider tip is to seek out Erik G on the beach for tours! We set up a tour of Rio Celeste in advance and Erik G was outstanding. The tour was amazing and well worth it! Highly recommend for coffee/cacao plantation, sloth sanctuary and waterfall. Amazing photos and terrific experience with our guides. Erik G was super helpful! Overall lovely property, all inclusive was a plus and staff were good/great to excellent.

OK, so I give a 4 / 5....I was expecting a little more i think for the cost. The good....any there is alot Resort is great, so much to do or not do. Wildlife everywhere Beach access the best. All inclusive makes it worry less. Check in staff were so friendly, especially one guy whom recognized I run marathons and was very talkative and avid runner The OK Food was 50/50....though no effort spared to make us happy The access to the member only level for breakfast / lunch was great except when they closed for a private party Wine service seemed strange...servicing very cold red wine was one. Poor waiter had no clue about what he was serving Room was strange, great size, don't get me wrong, though just not thought out great and little light available in the front area with desk. Was given a late checkout "verbally" though on the day, the club house said not in the system and basically sorry..... The could get better They have golf carts for everything.....we were picked up from lobby to take us to the room.....just felt strange when the driver guy questioned us, if we really needed help with the luggage up the flight of stairs to our room Only a phone at the bed, so if rings ( and it did) have to run to bed...rings only twice and hang up.... Mini bar not restocked when room cleaned Never met the room cleaner, so not sure if tip was received For the price, it seemed a little over priced... So, even though I'm critical, its a great place for R&R......

We stayed a week at this resort. The Good: The staff were great! Very friendly and attentive. Easy to get around - golf carts take you where you need to go. Beach area is pretty and staff will set up chairs and umbrellas for you. It was fun seeing the monkeys and iguanas. Not so great: Hard to get reservations for restaurants. We were there a week and never got to try one of the restaurants. The pool is filthy. We couldn’t stand in it without getting dead bugs on us. I never saw anyone cleaning the pool. We even saw iguana poop floating in the pool. One day an iguana pooped on the side of the pool and it took 48 hours before it was cleared. ( and we were club level guests at the exclusive pool) Overall we had a great time - but none of us would come back to this resort. Just quality was not there compared to the price.

Let me just start by saying the employees were super friendly and helpful. The friendliest I've ever met at any resort I believe. That made the trip so much better! We stayed at the Westin Reserva, not the W. They are separate. It's an oceanfront resort but there are no oceanfront rooms. You have to walk to the beach entrance on the property. It was beautiful! Very large and spread out but there are shuttles running all the time. We went May 6-11. Very hot and humid but no rain and not crowded. There are several different restaurants that are all delicious so always plenty to choose from. Asian, steakhouse, pizza, buffet, international, seafood. All delicious. We booked the Westin Club room which is an adults only section and that was a good choice. We got a seperate check in area with drinks and appetizers, personal concierge, they had already booked all of our dinner reservations (which were easy to change if needed), we got an adults only pool, a special restaurant for breakfast and lunch, and you get all liquor available, including premium. There always were plenty of towels and chairs available at each pool area. Also had cabanas to rent. We did a bike tour of the resort, which they had daily, and a coffee tasting class with lots of great info about how coffee got started there. Would recommend both. There were iguanas and monkeys and pizotes (in racoon family) everywhere! You don't have to leave the resort to see plenty. Nightly entertainment at the main restaurant, Mitra Market. There's a coffee shop (extra charge) and souvenir shop on property. I would say It's more of a calm and relaxed resort. Not loud and rowdy. I liked that about it. Golf: played 18 holes. Brought own clubs. $160 plus tax. 9am tee time. Easy to book and not crowded. Beautiful course. They do have later afternoon tee times which are a little cheaper believe. Would recommend. Beach: it was beautiful to me. The sand is actually shells, hence the name Conchal. Water beautiful. Sunset breathtaking. There are trees near for shade and chairs. You can walk all the way to the right side of the beach and you'll see a little walkway that you can cross over to walk to the town of Brasilito. Regular sand on that beach and not crowded at all. We got oceanfront massages with 2 ladies named Nina. They are at the entrance to the beach. Highly recommended. $40 for 1 hour and full body! Do it early into your trip before you're sunburned though! Best advice I got lol. Definitely book the trip if you haven't yet! Loved every minute. PURA VIDA!!!

My family and I have been coming here for years. We love the employees on the resort, vendors on the beach, and the Costa Rican culture. It feels so much safer here than in Mexico. The water was the bluest that it’s ever been in our past trips here. We were even able to snorkel and see fish. Every single employee here treats you like family. The food and drinks are great. The grounds are always immaculate and beautifully kept. Every indoor space was always clean. They even did an outstanding job keeping our room clean including the little pebbles tracked in on the floor from the beach. The food was also great! We enjoyed our family pictures by Franklin Velasquez (qr included in photos), daily massages on the beach from Gabby and the awesome excursions from Eric. My complaints would be the mattress was a little too hard and the pillows weren’t good at all. I woke up every morning with a stiff back and sore neck. I don’t really care how they changed the buffet up. Now there is several stations with menus that you stand there with your plate and order or wait your turn to ask for what’s on hand. I don’t like the idea of standing in line behind someone ordering when all I want is a scoop of something already made. And the drinking glasses were way too small. As hot as it is in Costa Rica hydrating is a must so it would be nice to have bigger glasses and not have to constantly wait for a refill and that’s just with water (no ice mind you). A refill on soda was pretty much non-existent. Other than that our family loved our whole experience.

Have been to mid to high all-inclusives in other locations such as Mexico, the Dominican, and Turks over the past five years and have to say the Westin Reserva sets the bar high on a number of different levels. First off, this resort is not a party type resort. It is by far the most relaxing and chilled out all inclusive I’ve ever been to. If you’re looking for one of those resorts that has multiple bottles of terrible cheap liquor in your room, this place is not for you. Most rooms are part of four unit bungalows that are spacious, well air conditioned, and fridges stocked with as much beer, water, and soda as you want. There are plenty of bars located around the resort if you want mixed drinks or liquor. Also you can simply ask a bartender for a large to go cup pour of liquor to bring back to your room and they will gladly pour whatever you want to go. The staff is amazing and friendly. Our kids (teen years) took full advantage of the great room service options and we felt 100% safe with them going to the pool on their own. The beach is amazing. All beaches in Costa Rica are public so you will be greeted by a number of local vendors the minute you walk off the property and onto the beach. There are plenty of excursion offerings, but I have to give mega props to Mr. Erik G who you can’t miss and will be in a blue shirt the minute you step onto the beach. He helped my family pick an amazing day trip to Tenorio Volcano National Park, a sloth tour as well as and coffee and chocolate tour. We had a personal guide for my family of four and Mr. Bryan was beyond outstanding. The resort has a tour desk with several options as well. The restaurants were all very good. I am from Kansas and come from a family of cattle ranchers and am very much accustomed to amazing beef and can say with a straight face that the filets I ate at the resort were easily comparable to some of the best beef I am used to eating. The resort is huge as far as area goes, but small when compared to some of the mega all inclusives that most people know and hear about. If you do not like walking, the resort has plenty of carts running around the clock to transport you to wherever you want to go, but I recommend walking as much as you can because you are guaranteed to encounter iguanas, monkeys, and all kinds of other wildlife. In summary, this place is for relaxing and enjoying the amazing beauty of the natural surroundings of the resort. If you’re looking for a fast paced, loud, and partying type of place, the Westin Conchal is not for you. My family will 100% be returning customers to this place and we are already looking forward to it as we prepare to leave after six nights in paradise.
