My wife and I stayed here simply to save costs. The rooms are clean enough and sufficient for our needs. No hot water or shampoo supplied for the shower. Bed felt more like a thick foam pad than a real mattress. We stayed on Saturday night and the club / bar next door has a live band that plays until 11pm. So much for getting to sleep early. Friendly enough service from the staff and Okay for the price of $35
Hotel was old and needed updating. Tub was dangerous. Drinks were little alcohol unless specified. Elevator was musty smelling. Entertainment was ok. I’ve had worse. Food was ok. Area was remote. Massages on beach were well worth it.
We arived at the guanacaste resort hotel on new years Eve. To a fireworks display on the beach and load music.this hotel is very big around 800 rooms.approx 2000 guests. The pro's 1st.a large selection of foods. 4 alacarte restaurants. One main buffet restaurant. And 3 large swimming pools.plenty of sunbeds.nice gardens. There is a pool bar very good service..good choice of drinks. Cocktails ect.our room overlooking the sea on the second floor was fantastic views and you could hear the howling monkeys at around 5.30am every morning. The weather was very hot around 95degs every day no rain or clouds.the beach is very pleasant a light grey in colour. And you do need sea shoes to go into the sea as there's stones around the water edge. .now we had a great time with all the sun sea most of all seeing the natural wildlife. Ie lguanas monkeys snakes birds racoons.but to name a few. Now the downsides. The rooms are very old in styles musty smell. The air con was not working.but a engineer came and got it working the light switch was not attached to the wall but it worked bathroom had a shower ran hot and cold at times no bath mat very slippery the towell rail was just about on the wall.room 2014.yes the bed's are hard and pillows small we brought our own pillows so not a problem. Are only negative is that even though.there is a selection of foods the food was not kept hot.warm most of the time as has been said before on previous travelers. This puts you off of trying a lot of the supposed hot foods.the ala carte resteraunts were not able to book but to line up at around 5.40 to sitdown for 6pm. Early dinner. And same later sitings. If full as they.were most times a buzzer was given to you when a table was available.our favourite was the Italian nice food and we'll set out.the others we also managed to get in to food was not that great.especially the Asian was buffet only and very rowdy. The steakhouse was just as bad steaks were fatty and not cooked to what we asked.…
Nothing remarkable about this place. As for the check-in staff knowing English, that's a serious stretch. He wasn't too friendly at 10:30 pm. On a Tuesday nite. He seemed scattered. Rather than finish my check-in, he shifts to the party that arrived after me. Weird. Bath towel was frayed and we'll used. Can does work very small room with toilet/shower, bed in a room that needed painting. Very basic!
This was a nice safe and cheap spot. Our room was a simple bunk with its own private bathroom. It was $12 for the night to stay here and was 2 blocks away from the Liberia bus stations. If your looking for a cheap place conveniently located to bus stations, gyms, local sodas, and bars this is a great place to stay.
