I'm here for 3 nights, the room is clean and quiet, beautiful pool, OK breakfast. The staff all of them speak Spanish only and will not communicate with me unless they have to. Need google translate all the time, but the staff need to learn they are in the hospitality business an occasional smile goes a long way. Price for my single room was just shy of $40. per night which is fine. There is no information at the desk regarding tours nearby or any other helpful information to a traveler.
We spent three days here. It was well priced, clean and close to downtown. WE had a mobility scooter and so it was important to be able to drive to the main square and the supermarket. We would recommend it.
If you are Looking for a place to crash and you just need it to be clean, have wifi and AC, close to city center, then it is a good choice. Unfortunaly we experienced that the house next to The hotel, had a lot of bargin dogs, which disturbed our sleep.
We had booked (via bookings.com) because hotel was advertised to have a pool so we were happy to pay a little more. We arrived at 13:40 to find the pool was empty. We were told it was being renovated and it was too late to cancel our booking. After some discussion, we decided to stay and asked if we could check in. We were told no, not until 14:00 - in 20 mins! We suggested maybe they could give us a break because the pool was empty and there were hardly any other guests so the receptionist said she would check.... It took her 20 mins to come back and say, sure! We waited in the very cramped reception area, while other staff pushed past and around us. The USD60 per night room is very small, no coffee maker (common in CR), tiny bathroom with shabby fixtures. This is the 10th hotel/cabina I have stayed in during my time here and the ONLY one that has been a disappointment. …
Searching on the internet for a pet-friendly hotel in Liberia Hotel La Siesta came up several times. I called and made a reservation for my wife and I plus our little dog and the reservation was taken, when we showed up we were told that they do not take pets. It must have been a communication error over the phone. The staff was very nice and sorry about the misleading information on the internet. We were here for a business meeting so could not drive the 2 hours back home to drop off our dog, fortunately, we did find the ONLY pet-friendly hotel in Liberia, Hotel del Aserradero and it was at a better price point. Hotel La Siesta looked like a nice place. Maybe, one day we will return.
