This hotel is located just a few minutes away from the Guanacaste airport (LIR) and Hilton provides a free shuttle. When I arrived, there were several Hilton shuttle buses waiting (to the left of the taxis). The grounds are immaculate and the landscaping is more in keeping with a resort rather than an airport hotel. There is a bar, pool, restaurant, boutique, small convenience store, gym, and a massage place. Also, an ATM machine is available. There is an outdoor activity area that looks as if it’s set up for special events. The hotel is spotless and looks new. My room is spacious and clean. I did not find any USB ports, but I could plug in all of my US electronics into the outlets. A breakfast buffet is served until 10 and room service is available. All of the staff have been very friendly and helpful. If you only speak English, it will not be a problem at this hotel.

We arrived in Liberia at 6:15 a.m., exhausted from our inability to sleep on the airplane. As the airport shuttle dropped us off, I asked the front desk if we store our luggage and use the pool until our rooms were ready at 3:00. The clerk checked our reservation and one room was ready, so she offered to check us in. I can't tell you how much our travel weary family appreciated this gesture and I will speak highly of your hotel.
The rest of our stay was great, and the rooms were clean. The food in the restaurant was excellent, but they were a bit understaffed for how busy they were. This resulted in slower service, but it wasn't because of a lack of effort by the staff that were working.

Planned to stay 1 night as a transition hotel on our return home. After checking into our 2 adjoining rooms we received notice that one of our family had tested positive for Covid and would need to quarantine. We were able to quickly arrange an extension of stay and arranged the rooms to accommodate. The hotel has guest laundry so again we were able to get the needed clothing quickly cleaned. Hotel has a great restaurant with reasonably priced food and large portions. Rooms are equipped with small fridges and microwave and they even have a small store where you can purchase snacks, a few frozen meals and sundry items including books. Breakfast isn’t great, just a few offerings on the menu but I think there may have been a breakfast buffet which we didn’t see. Lunch and dinner however is excellent with lots of choices. There are no stores nearby but a huge Price Club (warehouse style store like Costco) is just a short walk away and you can get a 1 day tourist pass to use the store with a 10% markup on the items. We used this to stock the quarantine room with drinks and small snack items. Hotel has a nice looking pool and a fitness centre so does seem to be well equipped for lengthier stays. We do think there are many people quarantining here based on some tale tell sign such as many room service trays outside rooms etc. They did lock the card key to the room so that elevator access is cut off preventing people from leaving their rooms during quarantine. There is also a Covid testing centre offering tests as quickly as 3 hrs for PCR ($265 USD) or 24 hours for $99. The hotel shuttle will take you there for free. Shuttle is every 15 min 24/7 to the airport and testing centre. Staff were excellent. Everyone super accommodating and helpful. Highly recommended.

As Hilton Diamond members we choose to stay in Hilton Garden Inn properties on a regular basis, and this location did not disappoint. We stayed 2 nights, one each before and after our flights to and from Drake Bay in the Osa Peninsula. We had all the comforts of home plus great customer service. The beds were comfy, the room was spotless, the hotel was quiet and the room fridge kept our water very cold. Checking in and out was easy, and the hotel shuttle provides a complimentary 5 minute ride to and from the airport. We enjoyed 2 dinners in the hotel restaurant and were happily surprised by how good they were. Our servers were friendly and our meals were served quickly. The breakfast buffet was also very nice. Indoor and outdoor tables/seating are available near the pool. A gift shop offers jewelry, snacks and toiletries. If you need your Covid test before returning home, please note the airport location closes promptly at 4:30 so you need to allow plenty of time to complete the process. When we called for our appointment we were told it closed at 5. The testing center is on the left in a large white tent as you face the airport. It’s very efficient and we received our results in less than 45 minutes. We rested comfortably at the Liberia airport Hilton Garden Inn and you will too.

We spent 1 night here and although the location is convenient to the airport; it does have some deficiencies worth mentioning: air conditioning in the room was very loud throughout the night (although it was cold). The pillows were flat and the shower lack water pressure. Breakfast in the restaurant - go for the buffet as we ordered from the menu and it was very little for what were served.

Air Canada used this hotel close to the Liberia Airport to put the whole plane of over 150 gueets overnight due to a flight cancellation. We were a group of three, and we each had our own room facing the parking lot or pool. They do have connecting rooms. The hotel is isolated, so it is not close to anything else. The feedback shared in common with other guests included air conditioning or mini fridge being louder than ideal, smaller tub but otherwise comfortable beds and well maintained. The TV has a sleep button which I like. Brewed coffee packets and tea bags in the room. There is an uncovered pool and fitness center. The meals were reasonably priced and a wide selection for dinner, and they had a good hot and cold breakfast buffet as well. The staff did their best to service a plane full of people at once. Well done and probably stayed late because of us and back at it again in the morning.

Short notice they came to the airport to get us the shuttle driver was very helpful the shuttle was spotless. Hotel staff were kind and efficient. Room was as expected clean and good quality. Food was good.

Just stayed here last week for last two nights in Costa Rica when we were doing full day tours. The room was very nice and being Diamond members received free breakfast which was great as it’s $28 which is a lot for breakfast. We also received coupon for two free drinks each night. The pool area is so beautiful with a lanai covered in flowers and lots of loungers. We ate breakfast out here and had drinks each night. The pool was warm and clean. Used the shuttle to the airport took about 5 minutes to airport. Highly suggest for night of an arriving flight or the night before a flight.

Hotel is well located, rooms are nice, pool and restaurant was great and outdoor are nice. My issue is overcharging on restaurant bill. Either their system doesn’t work or waiters have ability to override prices. We ordered 3 tequila shots, dinner and Fresca na pineapple juice. Price for tequila on menu was 3000 colones which includes the 23% tax. Bill is set up to have pretax prices for all items follow by tax calculations below. Our 3000 colone shot should have come up at 2,439 in top section so that when tax is added below it comes to 3,000. The bill had all the correct numbers for food, Fresca and pineapple juice as pre-tax in top section, but then it has each shot at 3600 pre-tax. I asked him to fix it and he took it down to the 3000 menu price but it should have been 2439 pretax. It’s clear they have ability to override prices and unsuspecting customers miss this. I am pretty sure their Point of Sale is not broken. This tells me that they have a poor owner or manager who supports this kind of activity. Not sure if it’s Hilton run or subcontract to operator but pay attention to your bill. This trick was a 4600 colones overcharge including the tax impact so $9 USD on what should have been a $40 USD bill. Not the first bill I saw manipulated in my two week trip. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The pool is clean and a great way to cool off during the heat of the day. The staff working the reception area, including the shuttle drivers, are warm and friendly. The breakfast buffet is out of this world good! Be sure to include breakfast when you book your room though, or it's $28 per person if you don't. I would not recommend eating lunch or dinner in the restaurant. We had several meals there. The majority of them were average or just under average. The restaurant staff do not appear to enjoy their job, and don't seem like happy people in general. They always seemed to be understaffed in the restaurant, and service was always incredibly slow. Unfortunately there are limited options for dinner within walking distance; however the Hampton recently opened, and they have a restaurant. We will likely give the Hampton during our next visit to Costa Rica.

Yes, Mr. Donohoe, we have a complimentary shuttle service that covers commercial flights.
Our shuttle has the Hilton logo and our driver his uniform and Hilton name tag and you can find him outside of the main gate.
