First time in Arenal Green, the service was excellent, clean bedroom, for a family of 5 we got the biggest villa and it was very spacious with an outdoor kitchen. The family had a great time in there. I definitely going back there. Friendly people and very close to everything.
As are many places to stay in Costa Rica, these are individual "cabinas". Not big rooms, but plenty comfortable and clean. AND, the bathroom was huge and had super water pressure, blasts the dirt off you! This is not all that common in Costa Rica. The water is clean and safe to drink everywhere but often the water pressure is lacking. The breakfasts were really good and the staff great. But best of all, we saw 2 huge Toucans outside our room one morning! Gorgeous.
The bungalow was very clean, bed was comfortable. I traveled with my friend and my 8 month old baby. The staff was super nice and found a bed (pack and play) for my baby so it was nice that she had her own spot. The staff was helpful in helping us organize tours, suggest restaurants, etc. The town of LaFortuna is a couple of km away so it's a bit of a walk, but doable. There is no sidewalk so you have to walk on the roads. I would not suggest walking at night. It is walking distance (5 mins) from a chocolate tour, and walking distance to Fortuna waterfall (although it's uphill most of the way so I recommend taking a cab there, and walking back if you plan on walking) When I checked out and paid, I forgot my visa card in the machine. After having left, they tracked me down in LaFortuna to be able to give me back my visa so I was extremely grateful and impressed. I loved my stay and would return again :)…
Very friendly staff. Breakfast included in the mornings. Beautiful views. Bungalow had beds for four but was a bit small (though we didn’t spend much time there). Would have loved a pool to make it an even better experience.
The staff is friendly and really helpful. The bungalows are really cozy and nice. The neighborhood is fine, the waterfall is around 2-3km on foot and 2 minutes by car. For breakfast you can choose from the usual costa rican food or fruits, in addition coffee, hot chocolate and juice. You can park close to your bungalows. There are birds around but not so loud, you can sleep not like in the jungle. Downtown a bit farther, approx 30 min easy walk or 5 minutes by car or taxi. Rainforest chocolate tour is 100 feet away.
Clean, spacious and private bungalows, in front of the Arenal Volcano. Not bad. They have a small refrigerator, a bed, a TV (never used), a sink, a good size closet, and a big bathroom, with a nice shower. You can sit outside and if you're lucky you can enjoy a great view of the Arenal VolcanoThe grounds are well-kept and nice looking. The breakfast is small (Option 1 with traditional rice and beans; Option 2 with fruits). Staff is friendly and accommodating (one day, they prepared breakfast earlier for us). Overall, a very good stay. My only complaint is the noise from neighboring hostel (Howler Monkey) and cabins across the street. Saturday night was rowdy. If you are a light sleeper this may be an issue. It's a bit far from town (25' walking along Diagonal 301 and 702). A taxi will cost around USD 3 (CRC 1500, always cheaper to par in Colones!) and will take 5' to get to town. On the good side, if you're going to the La Fortuna Cataratas (I'd not recommend them), you're there after a 15' walk. There's a nice restaurant Tequicia, almost at the corner of 301 and 702.…
Super cute, well-maintained, and clean bungalow. Plenty of room, great made-to-order breakfast, huge shower stalls, good air conditioning and fan, inviting porch (for times of cooler weather). But rock hard beds and only two pillows, so no relief there. Need a sheet of memory foam or better mattress for any but the most hardened sleepers.
We visited Arenal Green Hotel for two nights. The cabins are very comfortable with excellent air conditioning. They are in a beautiful setting with fantastic views of Arenal Volcano and huge grounds to wander around. If you cross the bridge over the stream on the property and walk down towards the river, you'll come to a paved path. Just between the wooden gazebo and the outdoor shower off of the path you'll find blue jean frogs. There were also many birds and a toucan in the trees in the grounds. Breakfast was cooked to order and was delicious. The owner and staff were very warm and welcoming, and looked after us very well, they organised a night walk tour for us at Natura Ecological Park and that was a great experience. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
Hotel was very nice for the brief time we stayed. The hotel itself, and grounds, were very well maintained. I would have preferred better lighting in the bathroom and darker shades on the windows to keep out the yard light. Made it difficult to sleep. We were supposed to stay 4 nights but unfortunately had to make a quick departure due to my husband's health condition. The front desk staff wasn't very supportive or accommodating. Tried to rebook for our return visit a few weeks later, but they were full.
Very Clean, Environment Friendly, Simple BUT ROMANTIC & CLASSY - Each quaint cottage comes with a kitchenette & outdoor patio with your own patch of small garden - Near waterfall (moderate uphill hike, just ask reception or Diana @ reception) - Quiet / Peaceful surrounding - Near downtown ( less than 10 mins. drive ) you can walk, but advisable to take vehicle because at night there are no street-lights and it is pitch-dark & surrounded by huge trees on both sides of the road - our booking came woth free breakfst ( coffee, fruits and your choice of breakfast menu )
