We arrived very late to the hotel so didn't appreciate the beauty of the place until the next morning. The rooms are huge with a super king size bed, it's own hot tub and beautiful views. The down side was that the shower was not great. It is located about 10 feet up and sprays everywhere! Also it was really difficult to work out was was the temperature lever. It would have also been good to havr a central switch which turned off and on the 14 lights in the room. Lovely coffee machine in the room. Breakfast was lovely with egg recipes freshly made and brown bread. Also plenty of different fruits. The grounds are beautiful with a variety of flowers and bushes. Trying out the hot spring waters is a must
Hotel backs directly onto volcano national park - view from room was incredible. Lovely pool & bar/restaurant area. Didn’t make use of spa facilities etc as too busy. Great base for all Arenal activities .
We spent a lovely 2-night stay at Kioro Arenal. The resort property is absolutely gorgeous and the staff attentive and knowledgeable. We were especially impressed by Gabriel, who served us in the restaurant both nights. He made heartfelt recommendations on both food and drink and made sure we were completely happy with our selections. The breakfast buffet has something for everyone and a wonderful view of the volcano. Unfortunately we did not see the tip of the volcano due to cloud cover, but it was an impressive sight nonetheless. On our final morning, a gardener stopped us as we returned from breakfast to point out a mother and baby sloth high in a tree. We'd never have seen it otherwise. The room was very spacious and comfortable. And that shower! Ahhhmazing! My only recommendations, and they are purely selfish, would be to offer some liquid creamer with the in-room coffee, as powdered chemical concoctions are an insult to Costa Rican coffee, and I'd have liked to have a clothesline in the shower to dry swimsuits or at least a plastic bag for packing them up again for travel. …
We stayed at Arenal Kioro Hotel for two days in February 2023. It is a spectacular property with beautiful, well-tended landscaping, many birds and animals, a fantastic pool complex with adjacent casual restaurant and full bar and cascading hot springs pools. The spa services were exceptional, and the lively main restaurant food and service were very good. La Fortuna is about 15 minutes away by car, however, except for an early morning guided birding excursion, we saw no reason to leave the property during our stay.
We spent 4 days at the beautiful Arenal Kioro Spa. Nuzzled right up next to the Arenal Volcano 🌋 From the minute we arrived it was a magical experience. A refreshing cocktail at arrival and the amazing foliage and grounds. The rooms were suites with spectacular views in every direction. The driving force of our stay, to our delight, was the outstanding attention to detail and customer service. The Staff: Sooo friendly and helpful. Made each interaction memorable. Norman at the pool bar, every room service delivery, the cleaning Staff, the front desk. Beginning to end. They made the magic. We felt like family. We felt at home. The food: the morning breakfast buffet was amazing. No consistently hot and fresh. Amazing fruits, sweet breads and toasts. I cannot remember the young woman preparing the omelets and eggs. So sweet, friendly and accommodating. The restaurants and other bars equally grand. Happy hour in the lobby bar with the pool table, very nice. The hot springs, game room, landscape and exotic plants... I can go on and on. Just make a reservation and stay there, and you tell me how to describe it all. Thank you to the Arenal Kioro Suites and Spa Staff for a great experience.…
A quiet scenic stay at this resort. The grounds were very beautiful and well manicured. We were lucky to see the volcano as the skies cleared. Wonderful views from the rooms. Very spacious and comfortable rooms. The food was very good and reasonably priced. The breakfast were very good with a large assortment of different foods available.
Like some others it’s easier for me to break my review into sections. Room - strange layout and very poor lighting. One separate area has a daybed which I’m sure if you have children is great but for a couple it is a unused and wasted space. Some of the most comfortable beds I have slept in. Hot tub is huge and takes up way too much space. Furniture and lamps are showing wear and could use updating. Grounds - beautifully landscaped. Can be difficult to walk if you have disabilities, especially with poor lighting at night. Unfortunately did not see one single animal in our 3 days there - also did not see the volcano once because of clouds and fog. Staff - wonderful and very helpful. Food - Wonderful breakfast buffet with lots of variety. Dinner in the restaurant was overpriced with average food. Would suggest getting an Uber and going into town to get more authentic food.…
Arenal Kioro Suites was our first stop in Costa Rica. The location is outstanding and we had an amazing view of the volcano from our balcony. The staff was friendly and helpful - all and all a great start to our trip.
This is a beautiful hotel, the views to the volcano are amazing, lovely gardens and well taken care of. Rooms were nice and very comfortable. We have a specific diet and the staff went above their duty to help us out in every possible way. I would stay there again any time!.
The hotel has beautifully landscaped grounds with an amazing view of the volcano (though for most of our 4 night stay it was blocked by cloud). You can take the hotel's free shuttle service to its hot springs which are very nice. The common areas of the hotel and suites are dated and in need of freshening up. The lobby is dark and uninviting. The suites are also dark and furnished with dark brown rattan furniture which is showing its age. The bed is comfortable. The suites have a large old-style hot tub which also seems dated and adds humidity to an already humid room. Despite the large size of the suites, the layout is unusual with a small sitting area in the entrance area which has no view and isn't particularly comfortable, and an odd little area with a day bed -- yet there is no chest of drawers and only a very small closet. The main dining room (where breakfast and dinner is served) is large and lacks charm. The barbeque dinner on the patio near the pool was enjoyable. The rooms are expensive for what you get. …
