Great 'stop over' hotel, conveniently close to the airport although there is a free shuttle service. Check out is 11am but the hotel kindly let us continue to use their facilities, even providing towels for use at the pool. The receptionist, Raphaela, was very chatty and helpful on our arrival. It is in the flight path of the runway so be prepared for the planes going over and rattling the building, however after the first one we didn't notice it. The entrance is difficult to get to if you're driving and coming from Dan Jose, hornet a good taxi driver should be able navigate. The rooms were spotless, with shampoo and soaps provided. The restaurant prices are very composite in the area and the ambiance was lovely, however the calzone's did need a bit longer in the oven as the pastry was raw. This didn't stop us having a lovely evening. If your bothered by restaurants the Holiday Inn and Denny's are next-door Breakfast was fresh and hot, probably one of the best I had all holiday. I would definitely use in future both on arrival and leaving.…
This is the perfect start or finish point for your vacation adventure. Close to the airport, amazing breakfast amazing staff. Room is clean and comfy. Reason why it’s not a “5” is because it’s not a multiple night home base. I will be booking again before flying out
Great spot for a night after a late flight into San Jose. Check-in was easy and the front desk staff made sure our breakfast order was taken care of, as well as the transportation we needed the following morning. Good value and the breakfast by the pool was excellent.
Every year we stay here on the night we fly in and the night we fly out. It is super close to the airport (you usually have to ask for a red taxi at the airport to get here and it is around 5 dollars plus a small tip is appreciated). It is a challenge to get into and out of since it is on a really busy street but taxi drivers are masters at this. It is a gated hotel and you are very safe. It is also small. It has clean rooms with comfortable beds and a nice bathroom with hot showers. It is air conditioned. The grounds by the pool are pleasant and you can relax out there if you have the time. They have recently put in little "cabana's" with very comfortable couches and tables near the pool. The restaurant is actually really good. they serve wood grilled artisan pizzas and pasta and the food is very tasty. It is usually only open in the evenings but worth eating at. In the morning they have a simple but very good breakfast that is included if you have the time. They are very Covid conscious and take measures to control cleanliness. Rafaela has always been there to greet us as we checked in and she is very nice. It is next to the airport so there is some airplane noise. If the restaurant is not open yet and you need to eat, Denny's is next door. We will continue to use this hotel for our arrivals and departures. I will mention that you have to get your own taxi to this hotel but they will arrange for a taxi to the airport (even at 4am).…
DO NOT BOOK AT THIS HOTEL! The staff is extremely rude! They do not know anything about hospitality! After a long journey we arrived at the hotel. My credit card was not functioning and I couldn’t pay right away. The staff wouldn’t give me the keys and didn‘t offer me to pay for the room in the morning. They first asked us to pay in cash and we took a taxi to the ATM, unfortunately it also didn’t work. I then had to wait few hours in the lobby until I was able to reach my bank and fix the problem. The receptionist was slow and not helping us at all, making the situation even more frustrating. After checking in we wanted to book a transfer to the airport. The receptionist declined and said we should take care of it on our own. We were not informed that there was a free shuttle from the hotel to the airport even though we paid the full amount for our room! I have never been treated so bad. We also paid for breakfast and had to realize that they do not offer it before 7am which is ridiculous as it’s an airport hotel. I want to seek refund!…
An oasis in the city, fantastic accommodations if you are coming or going from the airport. The staff is beyond amazing, we lost a passport and they helped us track it down and even picked it up for us at a local restaurant while we were traveling!! Breakfast is wonderful with a pool side view!
Our flight arrived very late and so we opted to spend a night here before renting a car the following morning. This hotel is located a 2-min drive from the San Jose airport and walking distance from multiple car rental offices. The staff was extremely friendly and the room was spacious and comfortable. We also felt completely safe from a COVID perspective as there were multiple sanitizing stations in the lobby and all of the hotel staff wore masks. A delicious breakfast is included, and the breakfast area looks out over the pool and an enormous mango tree in the courtyard. It was a lovely place to kick off our trip to Costa Rica and we would absolutely stay here again if needing a place with close proximity to the airport. Thank you, Hotel Mango!
My wife and I have stayed here twice before. It had been 10 years since coming back to Costa Rica. We had just arrived after traveling from Bocas Del Toro Panama by shuttle. The hotel was still excellent after all these years. The room was clean so was the Hotel grounds. Bed was comfortable and the restaurant had great food. I would stay here again in the future.
Beds are amazing. Rooms look great and are clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Pool looks good too though I didn't go in. Really convenient for airport. However, the rooms are not soundproof as advertised. I've stayed near Heathrow in London before and you couldn't hear anything in those hotels. We heard every plane. We also heard every conversation at reception as customers arrived at all hours. Restaurant serves pizza and pasta and the like - limited vegetarian options, no vegan or gluten free options except the obligatory salad cos that's all you people eat right? Sigh.
Free shuttle every hour to airport which is good because walking is near impossible. Clean good rooms. Huge beds. Efficient staff. Poolside bar and restaurant. Pizzas large and good. Calzones underdone.
