I checked in back in April . I’ve been fine up until last night when the GM Khadijah called my room (this is the first time they’ve EVER called my room since I’ve checked in) to ask if I was paying a fee that I didn’t know she added to my account for my dog using the restroom outside . Now granted I understand about picking up dog poop but since I’ve been here NOBODY has ever said anything about making sure I pick it up. it’s poop all in the grass and rocks under windows to the rooms so it’s obvious nobody picks it up and that’s just how it’s been since I’ve arrived . I’m guessing she was ASSUMING that I have an extra $50 to pay for something I didn’t even receive a warning or anything about . All she said is “we have been watching” that’s fine and dandy but don’t go adding fees to accounts if you haven’t taken the time to inform your customers that they could possibly be charged if whatever they are doing continues . I honestly just see unprofessional from here forward and can’t think otherwise . I’ve received TWO phone calls referring to that fee in less than 24 hours , when I received ZERO calls about possibly being charged . I’m sure she wouldn’t like a random fee on any of her accounts , we the people don’t either . I usually don’t do surveys but I went out of my way to do this one because I don’t like feeling a way where I lay my head and I want to make sure it’s clear how UNPROFESSIONAL that was ! Oh and BTW everything and everybody else is amazing and they get 5 stars but not this one . This place is too expensive to be getting extra fees .

I used to stay at a Marriott wherever I went. When I was a kid, going to the Marriott with my parents was special. But these days, they've bought up every half-rate dump, slapped a little lipstick on their new pig and affixed their name to it. They are now intrinsically overpriced and rely on their name to charge the same as they used to for much better accommodations. This year, on my week-long trip to Huntsville, I said SCREW THAT, and took a chance on a place about 45% less expensive, the Suburban Extended Stay in Huntsville on University. Score. Cleaner, more in-room amenities, etc etc ... but the staff there iced the cake. So friendly, so helpful, so FAMILY. In particular, LeShawn Kelly. I think she's a Manager but I couldn't tell really because it really just seemed like I was staying with family friends. Literally everyone was great, but LeShawn Kelly is really why I'm going back. She welcomes you so warmly, is ready for any question, and never gets tired of seeing you. She has awesome hair, an even more awesome smile, and if I owned a hotel I would steal her away in a split second. LeShawn really upgrades your stay just by being there. But housekeeping was also very nice, no corporate attitude, just nice and friendly. And also, I had a few interactions with the GM, Stephen Calhoun, who oozes hospitality from his pores. If you'd rather get a Coke for a reasonable price in a vending machine instead of paying 3 bucks for a can in the Marriott lobby, grab a local drink and dinner at a recommended joint rather than pay triple price for a sandwich at the Marriott "Bistro," and other good things you might rather, this is the place. Especially if you've already paid a grand for space camp and want to cut down on additional expenses. I have a little warm place in my heart for LeShawn, which I never have had for a host at a hotel. When I go back next Summer I'm gonna bring her some killer ribs from Arkansas and a big old hug. I give it a 4 instead of a 5 only because the decor is not all that special, and the elevator is dingy and needs a little touching up. If there was a 4.5, I would give it to them without question. Don't think twice about staying here and give Leshawn a big squeeze for me.

This hotel has the worse customer service. I checked in the hotel yesterday, and was told today that I had to leave due to unsufficient funds. I booked through a third-party. What I couldn't seem to understand was this. if I booked through a third-party and if there wasn't any funds taking out. Why was I able to check-in? Any hotel would let you know during check-in that the vitrual card did not go through. You may need to call the third-party that you booked with. But instead, they allowed me to check-in yesterday and now I have to check-out today. I booked for three nights.I have to check-out today because of unsufficinet funds. Whic doesn't make any sense what so ever. They called me on my personal line, and told me, that hotels had told them that I had cancelled my reservation, the day of. Again that doesn't make sense. Because I was giving a key to check-in. This wasn't a mistake that I made, it was the front desk agent who checked me in. The young girl working the front desk, This morning s was exceedingly rude. I asked her may I speak with her manager, she claimed that she wasn't there. I asked the young girl is there a email that I can get in contacted with her with about this matter? She told me no, she doesn't have an email. We all have the same one. Which again, did'nt make any sense to me. I said ok, Ill just call back. The young girl proceeded to say in confidence," Well the manager is going to say the samething I said". And then hung up in my face. She was very rude, her mouth was extremely smart and she raised her voice. I calle CHOICE customer Relations, about how rude the staff was. And they did nothing. If you won't do anything about it. I will take this matter else where. Do not book at the is hotel. The staff doesn't seem to care about their guest. I have never had a front desk agent hang up in my face or that rude. Thank you, Laura Davis.
